Adelie POV Yesterday's event was crazy, and what Asher did for me was epic, and still hard to get off my head. If anyone ever told me he would do that for me, I wouldn't have ever believed. Waking up beside Raymond this morning is really a good feeling that I love so much. After the party yesterday, Ray took me to the nearest mall where he got me cloth to wear, after which he brought me to his place, and the strange thing was Asher not saying anything. The Asher I know would never allow Ray to take me away. Who knows, maybe he's now in love with Cynthia. I think I did a good job convincing him to date her. That way, maybe I will have peace of mind henceforth. But I'm still scared for my friend. What if Asher is up to something? What if he's planning to harm her?

"Good morning, babe. Did you sleep well?" Ray asks as he walks out of the bathroom with just a white towel hanging around his waist, and his body dripping wet. He just had his bath since it's morning already, and he would need to go to the office.

"Good morning," I throw my gaze away shyly as I feel my heart hammering against my chest. He's so hot that I can't even breathe. We slept almost immediately after we got home yesterday. I'm glad he didn't bother me that he wanted to have sex with me. He's the most gentleman I've ever seen.

"Is he hotter than Asher?" My subconscious mind screams at me, and I roll my eyes inwardly. I don't want to start thinking about Asher this morning, please.

"I figured you don't have a dress here to wear to the office. Do you want us to stop by the mall on the way to the office?" He asks as he grabs the hand drier and starts drying his hair.

"No, I think I will just go home and get ready for work," I say to him, even though I'm not sure about the decision I just made. I may end up regretting it later. What if I bump into Asher there? He may flirt with me again, and I may not be able to resist him. That's going to be crazy.

"Do you want me to drop you off?" He asks as he turns to face me, and I shake my head.

"I'll just take a cab home," I reply to him, and he pauses what he's doing.

"You can take one of the cars from the garage. I will send my driver to come to get it later," He offers, but I quickly shake my head. I mean, there's nothing wrong with taking a cab, right?

"It's fine. I'm just going to take a cab home," I reply to him, and he shrugs after a few seconds of silence.

While he's busy getting ready for work, I leave for my house.

"Are you leaving already? I made breakfast," Rhea says as soon as I step into the living room, and I stop on my track.

"I'm sorry, but I need to hurry home to get ready for work. I'll see you some other time," I say to her before I hurriedly stride out of the living room, and soon, I'm standing at the side of the road and waiting for a cab to pick me up. 'Why didn't I just order Uber?' I sigh briefly to myself after five minutes of waiting and there's no sign of a cab showing up anytime soon.

I finally spot a cab and haul it down after a few minutes. I hop in and give him my address before the ride started.

'Don't mess with my woman' I scoff and shake my head as his words ring in my head. The angry look in his eyes yesterday made me feel like he would've torn Lisa apart if she was not a woman. Why the hell was he so angry just because someone tore my dress? Is my brother really obsessed with me? That's crazy.

We finally arrive at the front of the gate a few minutes later, and I hop out of the car. My heart sinks into my stomach as soon as I walk into the compound and spotted Asher's car in the garage. Here I was, thinking he must've gone to the office, but turns out that I was mistaken. What the hell is he still doing at home by this time of the day?

Taking a deep breath, I proceed toward the entrance door and push it open before I make my way in. The aroma coming from the kitchen welcomes me in as I walk into the living room, and I need no one to tell me that he has already made breakfast, and as usual, my mouth salivates at the smell of it.

"I thought you were not going to come home today," His voice brings me to an abrupt halt as I walk my way toward the staircase, and I stop to see him in the dining room, sipping red wine. Now that I think of it, why the hell does Asher suddenly love taking red wine? The last time I checked, back then when we were still kids, he was never fond of it, but after his fifteenth birthday, he suddenly changed and started to get obsessed with red wine.

"Is that even something to think about? There's nothing strange about it," my subconscious mind scolds my dumbness, and I sigh briefly before I turn to face him. He's not looking in my direction, but just staring into space with a blank expression on his face, just like the sassy vampire in my imagination whenever I read a fantasy book. But wait a minute! Isn't it wrong, to compare my brother to a vampire? That's inhumane.

"Good morning, Asher," I greet him after I gulp down the sudden lump that forms in my throat, and as he tilts his head to look at me, my heart skips like I've just seen a ghost.

"Good morning, sweetheart. Did you have a good night at your boyfriend's house?" He asks as the corner of his lips twitches into a smirk, his eyes boring into mine.

"Ye..." I stop and freeze on the spot for no reason, as I suddenly feel waves of fear surge through me.

"What did he do to you?" As he stands up to his feet, I take a step back fearfully like my doom is coming for me. As I watch him walk toward me, I feel like disappearing into the thin air, or maybe fainting won't be a bad idea.

"Did he kiss you? Did he sleep with you?" He whispers once he's standing in front of me, his eyes not leaving mine. The look in his eyes explains nothing, but anger, possessiveness, lust, and desire. For some seconds, I wish I can read his mind and know what he's thinking, but with the look in his eyes, do I need to read his mind to know what he's thinking? I don't think so.

"No need to panic, darling. I'm just playing with you," He suddenly rolls his eyes as if he is easing the tension so I won't be so scared, but I am. I can't help it.

"I... I... will be in my room," I quickly force my legs toward the staircase as I feel my heart beating rapidly against my chest. I should've just allowed Raymond to bring me home, or maybe get me a dress at the mall instead. I shouldn't have come here by myself...
