Lily was the most puzzled person amongst everyone.

It did not make sense that Wade, who was worth over ten hundred million, would bow to Nathan.

Nathan put the black card away, “I don’t see that happening, but it’d be nice if you sack her.”

Evidently, he was referring to Lily.

Wade swiftly complied, “You’re fired. Get your pay from accounting and leave!”

Lily could not hold her tears any longer. She knew that there was nothing that she could do to reversethe situation. She was at the point of no return.

Mia took care of the procedure and gave them a temporary number plate.

In the end, they drove out in an M760Li xDrive as Wade saw them off.

On their way back, an awkward silence fell in the car. Be it Penny at the front, or the rest of the family inthe back, they were all hesitant to talk about the elephant in the room.

Nathan smiled at Penny as he drove, “You look like you have something to spill.”

Penny let out a playful hum, “What else are you keeping from us?”

“Nothing. I always answer your questions honestly.”

“Fine. Let me ask you this. Where did you get all that money from?”

Nathan gave her a cheeky wink, “Ah. I’m the great General of the North. Money means nothing butnumbers to me.”

No one took that statement seriously. They all rolled their eyes at him.

Penny pulled a long face, “None of your exaggeration again. Give us the unvarnished truth.”

“Okay, okay... As you all know, I was in the military for a few years. I saved a billionaire’s life once in amission. So, he gave me the card as a token of gratitude. I’m not sure how much money I can spendwith it, but I figured that buying a BMW shouldn’t be a problem.”

It was too good to be true, the family was stunned to learn that. If it could pay for this car, there has tobe a hundred million... even a billion credit in the card.

They had always perceived Nathan as a jobless house-husband.

This incident made them realize how loaded Nathan actually was.

Leah stared at Nathan empathetically as she bit her lower lip, “Even so, I hope that you don’t squanderit all on us. Okay?”

Benson agreed, “Yeah. We aren’t used to owing others favors. On top of that, we already owe you a lotfor offering my father Phoenixia.”

Nathan pulled over on the roadside smoothly before he turned to Benson and Leah, “Mom, dad, Penn.I know I have made life hard for you these years. I can’t thank you enough for forgiving me. Not onlydid you allow me to be with Penny and Queenie, but you also accepted me into your family. For that,

being a responsible father, husband, and son-in-law is the least I can do. It’s my job to protect you.That means no one can ever bully or humiliate you. Never.”

Benson and Leah had held a grudge against Nathan when he had first showed up.

However, their perception of him changed after he saved Sean’s life.

And now, this declaration. Needless to say, they were happy that Nathan was now part of the family.

Leah opened up to him, “Maybe we were biased against you, but I am glad to learn how kind andgenerous you truly are. From now on, we are family.”

“Yes. I am sure you will make Penny very happy.” Benson added.

Penny started flushing. Her parents finally recognized Nathan as their official son-in-law after getting toknow him.

She coyly turned to Nathan, who was all smiles, “What are you simpering for? I never really said Iwanted to be your wife!”
