Until I Met You
Fight (33)

Fight (33) Grace

"Mason?" I whispered to myself after seeing his face. I started walking towards him but stopped as a thought came rushing to my mind.

He didn't know that I work here. What will he say after seeing me here? What excuse would I need to make, to cover my secret? My presence at such a place?" My all thoughts vanished when I saw, one of the bodyguards pushing him back. I hurriedly walked towards him and stopped the bodyguards.

"Stop. Stop it. What's happening here?" I asked one of the bodyguards. Ignoring the shocked look Mason was giving me. One bodyguard pushed me to his side. "Stay away from him. He's saying that he didn't meet the girl he was fixed with. We'll see him outside." He said and took a step forward like he was ready to throw him outside. I grabbed his arm and pushed him back. Xander held him back. When that bodyguard saw Xander's face he jerked his hand away.

"What are you doing here?" Mason asked me, completely ignoring the situation. I ignored his question and stopped the second bodyguard approaching him.

"He is my friend. Don't worry, I'll take care of him." I told them. I signalled one of the bodyguards, and they both got the que to leave us alone.

I grabbed Mason's hand and dragged him outside the building where Xander followed us. All the while Mason bombarded me with his questions. I ignored his attempts to free his hand. When we finally came outside, Mason twisted his hand out of my grip.

"Answer me. What are you doing here? And who's this guy? Are you cheating on Jake?" He asked. His face didn't betray a single hint of anger. Surely making conclusions in his mind that I was cheating on Jake.

"Answer me!" He yelled at me when I didn't speak and stayed calm. Xander put his one hand on Mason's shoulder to hold him back but Mason pushed his hand away.

"Chill buddy." Xander told him.

"Who are you?" He asked Xander. I opened my mouth to answer when a black car came to a screeching halt, behind us. Jake got out of his car and speed walked towards us, taking in all of us three. When he reached us, he glanced between us and asked me in a very angry voice.

"How did you get free?" Jake asked Mason. Without waiting for his answer, he turned to me.

"Is he one of your customers? Did you work for him?" Jake asked, pointing to Xander beside me. I looked at Xander.

"I think you should leave." I told him. He nodded.

"Sure, I'm leaving." He said but not before looking at all of us and giving an amused smile.

"Did you?" Jake asked. I was about to answer but again, was interrupted by Mason.

"Customer? Worked for him? What the hell is going on?" He asked. Jake ignored him and grabbed me tightly by my arm.

"Did you?" He questioned me again, staring me in the eyes.

"Not the way you're thinking." I said.

"Jake? What is going on? Wait? Serve him?" Mason asked Jake but stopped and murmured to himself.

"You work here?" He asked, glancing back at the building. I saw realization setting in his eyes. He looked at me in disbelief.

"You're a prostitute?" He asked. He glanced between Jake and me. Then he stared at Jake.

"And you knew?" He asked Jake. Jake didn't reply to him. He just kept quiet and sighed.

"Wait. And you never told me. Or Ethan about this?" He continued asking questions to Jake. Mason gave Jake a push. I took a step forward to stop him.

"I told him not to tell anyone." I said. Mason turned to me. He crossed his arms around his chest and stared at me.

"Tell me. Tell me everything you both are hiding." He said. The secret was out anyway, so I decided to tell him. I told him everything. From the point when we met to our deal to everything.

When I finished Mason stared at Jake for a while. Jake ignored his friends' glare and pretended his presence to be nonexistent. Instead, he looked at me and said,

"You're leaving this job. You want to make money? I'll pay you for everything you need. You're not going to work here anymore." Jake said. He wasn't suggesting it. He was ordering me to do it without any questions.

"I don't want your money. And you are no one to tell me about what I should do and what I shouldn't do. Or even to tell me that I should not continue working." I said to him. His eyes turned violent, and he looked like he would eat me up alive.

"You're. Quitting. This. Work. You. Understand. Me." He punctuated every word, emphasizing that this topic was not up for the debate.

"Who are you to tell me that I can work or I can't?" I asked him.

"I'm your boyfriend!" He snapped.

"You're not my boyfriend!" I snapped back. By now, both of us were on each other's face and our chest was heaving with anger that both of us were trying to control and hold inside. Yet, it was oozing out our barrier of control. "We have a fake relationship, not a real one. It was already decided that none of us would interfere with other people's business. You're totally ignoring that." I said.

"Screw the deal! You are not doing this work and that's final. I'm giving you money then why are you being so hard. Why don't you just accept it when you don't have to work for it? Why do even want to continue this - this" his nose scrunched up in disgust, "this degrading work? You like to sell your body? You like it when people use you as a sex toy? Do you get turned on when people use you as a play thing? Or do you just like to get it regularly?" He said. I snapped at his words and slapped him hard on his cheek.

"Get lost. Get lost and don't show me your face." I told him as he touched his red cheek that I just stuck. He just stared at me with a shocking face.

"You knew, you knew who you were making this deal with. You knew what I did for a living and you agreed that we won't interfere in each other's life. Then what the hell happened to it? Huh? Did you forget it all of a sudden? What did you say to me, oh yeah, 'Don't expect anything more from me? It's a fake relationship. If you tried to become my girlfriend or act like one then I have this secret to tighten your leash. Don't ever think about being my girlfriend.' Then what happened now? Why are you being such a jealous ass?" I asked him. He didn't say anything. He just turned and walked back to his car. Mason hurried after him, I totally forgot that he was standing there, between us. Jake climbed into his car, not waiting for Mason to climb in which Mason managed easily, and floored it passed me.

Leaving me stranded alone. Staring right back at his car. I don't know why but I burst into tears and started crying. My heart ached like it was being squeezed out my chest. I sat down, where I was standing and continued crying.
