Veiled Infant of Alpha Hunter
Chapter 51 Mysterious Doctor

“What do you mean you’re sorry?” I asked, my heart pumping rapidly as those dreadful words left his lips.

“We couldn’t save your child.” The doctor states.

“What?” I was confused.

“That’s impossible!” I bellowed.

“Alpha babies are strong; this can’t be happening.” I told, beginning to hyperventilate.

“The situation was whereby to either save your mate or your child, sir. Your child had lost too much oxygen, He was born still.” The doctor explained.

“He?” I questioned.

“It was a baby boy.” He noted.

A tear slipped down my cheeks.

My parents were both fazed by the situation, they didn’t know how to react.

I closed my eyes for a moment to calm myself down and get my thoughts together.

“How’s Lilith?” I then asked.

“She’s resting from the anastatic, she’d be awake soon.” The doctor told.

I sighed nodding, and the doctor walked away.

“Darling, I’m so sorry.” My mom came near to give me a hug but I moved away.

“I just need some time.” I assured her and she nodded in understanding.

My dad held my mom by the shoulder before ushering her away from me to give me space.

I saw in the corner of my eye, Gabriella came running to where I was in an excited manner before my dad stopped her.

She looked perplexed to why my dad had halted her but as she observed our expression, her lips turned into a frown.

I walked over to the room where they kept Lilith in, opening the door slowly and closing it behind me.

I sighed, walking over to the couch beside the bed Lilith was sleeping in.

Within fifteen minutes, I noticed Lilith starting to stir as she slowly fluttered her eyes open and winced at the white light that suddenly attacked her vision, groaning for a moment before adjusting to it and observing her surrounding as her eyes then landed on me.

She picked up her hand, placing it on her stomach and her eyes widen before reality finally hit her as she slowly sat up on the bed.

“Where’s the baby?” She questioned looking at me.

I pursed my lips, keeping it sealed.

“Answer me!” She demanded.

“You got your wish.” I stated, a little harsher than I wanted it to be.

She looked confused.

“What do you mean?” She asked.

“He’s gone.” I started.

“I wasn’t even able to see him.” I told.

“What?” She asked as tears started forming in her eyes.

“Don’t act, you never wanted the baby from the start, you should be rejoicing by now.” I responded starkly.

“I had him in me for three months, how do you think I would feel?” She questioned as tears streamed down her face.

“You can’t do this to me, you can’t blame all this on me. I just came out of the operation room with the last thing I remember was severe pain and now you’re being hostile when I need your support the most.” She cried.

I bit the inside of my cheek.

I was sad.

But she was right.

I closed my eyes for a second before nearing her figure and embracing her with a hug, letting her face rest on my chest while tears kept streaming down her cheeks and onto my shirt.

“I’m sorry.” I told genuinely, sighing.

She wrapped her arms around me too while I soothed her.

The door to the room then opened and in came a nurse that previously took charge of the attempting the abortion as she looked confused placing a tray of food on the table near the bed.

“What’s wrong?” She asked as she looks at Lilith.

When Lilith didn’t respond, the nurse then asked another question. “Where’s the baby?” She then enquired.

I sighed.

Isn’t she supposed to know? I thought she was a part of the operation?

“The baby’s gone.” I answered instead and the focus fell on me.

She seemed to be more confused.

“Gone?” She then inquired.

“He’s dead.” I stated monotonously. She can’t seem to get a hint? Must I be this specific?

“Dead? Your baby was fine and healthy. The new male doctor took your baby out for a scan. What do you mean?” She then questioned.

I stepped a little away from Lilith’s embrace as I furrowed my eyebrows at the nurse while Lilith’s attention also snapped towards her direction.

“Our baby is alive?” I asked, and she nodded.

“Who’s the new doctor?” I enquired.

“I don’t know, he said that he newly joined the pack. He was the one that came out to speak with you.” She then answers.

My heart rate started accelerating.

“Where’s your youngest brother?” I asked Alvin while Simon was training beside him.

Alvin and Simon looked at each other.

“He told he has someone to meet in your brother’s pack.” Simon stated.

“Is he actually allowed in his pack?” I turned to Zachary who was supervising the young wolves.

“I’m not too sure how he was able to get in but he told me that he needed a potty break.” Zachary answered me perceiving the situation slightly suspicious.

“Something’s not right.” Octavius told looking at the both of us.

Something definitely wasn’t.
