Waited For The Luna -
Chapter 17
The pack was already preparing for the B***d Moon Festival which was happening in a few days. Meaning, the school year was about to end and graduation was around the corner. Once the grades were done, I was announced as valedictorian of the class. I was surprised really. I know I did my best and have always had high grades, but with everything that happened the past few months, I felt that I wouldn’t even be able to finish on top.
Collin wasn’t sending me any texts. I guess he felt guilty for pushing me. Luka was missing as well. Some said he was on house arrest for almost causing war and had to finish his exams at home.
I didn’t have much to do. hence, I accompanied my best friend to the dress shop for graduation and the b***d moon festival.
“So what do you think? Too much?” Macy asked as she got out in a red dress that showed her cleavage.
“I think it’s just perfect. You’re going to wear a toga anyways.” I answered burying my face to my phone.
“This isn’t for graduation. The dress is for the festival. I might meet my mate in a few days you know. I need a dress that’ll make him mark me that instant.” Macy sounded really excited over replaceing a mate. I rolled my eyes at her. “If you were in my situation you’d probably detest having a mate.”
“You know you should try this dress. At least enjoy yourself. After everything you’ve been through the past week.” Handing me a purple mesh halter dress with embroider flowers. That stopped under my knees. As much as I was in a bad mood, the dress was too beautiful to resist.
“It’s beautiful you should try it for yourself.” I told her.
“The dress is too modest for me. I want something red and sexy!” She said as she checked out the dress on the racks. “Like this!” Finding the perfect dress that she quickly took to the dressing room.
Looking at the beautiful dress I then tried it for myself.
“Are you ready! My mate would probably drop his jaw once he sees me!” Macy said as she got out. The dress perfectly fitted her. It had a small strap and the neckline wasn’t too high or too low. Perfectly hugged her petite figure. Seeing me her jaw drop.
“Oh, honey! You look so beautiful. If I had that height and that figure I’d go to the festival even in rugs.” She said. I saw myself and resisted the urge to buy. But a girl is just a girl and a dress is sometimes what she needs.
We graduated at the noon of the B***d Moon Festival. Alpha said a few words. As class valedictorian, I had given my speech as well. It was a good thing my accidents happened before the school year ends or I wouldn’t really be able to stand on this podium.
“…… high school is a place for us to fool around and make mistakes. I hope we can carry these experiences as we take on a bigger journey in our life and take these faults as lessons….” this line seemed to pull a nerve in Luka. I ended my speech with a thank you. We were all handed our diplomas and awards.
I was taking photos with my family when Luka came up to me.
“Bellamy, can we talk?” He softly asked. Noah and Dad excused themselves. High school is over so I guess it wouldn’t hurt to end on good terms with Luka,
“Congratulations,” I said, giving him a half-smile. “Yeah, you too.” He said. After a second of silence. “I’m sorry for what happened. If I knew you’d get hurt, I wouldn’t have come.”
“It’s okay. I’m over it. But Luka, I was hoping you can reject me tonight before the festival.”
“Is that what you want?” He said looking into my eyes. I nodded lightly in response and he left. That was a little unsatisfying.
After the ceremony, everyone hurried and prepared for the b***d moon festival.
I fixed my make-up and wore the dress I brought with Macy. After a week of not hearing from Collin he called.
“Hey,” I spoke.
“Sorry I haven’t been in touch….” I hummed in response waiting for him to add to his sentence. After a short silence, he added. “I really want to talk to you tonight.” He sounded so serious uttering those words.
“Sure. We can meet before the festival start. I missed you” I knew he was sorry for pushing me that night. If it weren’t for Luka we would’ve been in that situation. However, he didn’t answer back to my endearments and dropped the call.
I stood up after doing my make-up and glanced at myself in the mirror. I straightened my hair and parted it in the middle then lightly curled my long hair. My shadow was a light pinkish tone that complimented my mauve lipstick. I love make-up and dressing up. I mean why be ordinary and simple every day when I can express myself in a more artistic way.
Noah drove me to the packhouse and we were there by 5:00, a little too early since the pack needed a little help.
“Bellamy! My dear, you look so beautiful.” Luna Rose said, she looked so beautiful and regal in her nude-colored dress that was brushing the floor.
“Thank you, Luna White. You look beautiful too always.” I said breaking the hug she encased me in.
“If I can have a daughter I would dress her in pretty clothes every day. Too bad my grumpy son doesn’t like dresses.” She chuckled. Luna Rose always loved me like a daughter. When I was younger, she would steal from dad and take me shopping. “Congratulations, my dear. The true epitome of beauty and brains.” She said and I gave her an awkward smile bowing my head a little. “Unlike, boobs over brains over there. She would have to drink fire before I let Luka make her Luna.” She said rolling her eyes looking at Ellie who was wearing a dark purple sequin dress. Her volume was loud enough for Ellie to hear.
“Luna Rose, I’ll have to take my leave. I need to replace Collin.” I said.
“Oh! You’re still with him?” She said frowning. I nodded my head and left.
Collin asked me to meet at the cliff just outside the packhouse. I waited for a few minutes before he finally came.
“Hey.” I stood up smiling at my boyfriend.
“Hello, gorgeous.” He said. Usually, he would k**s me on my forehead but for some reason, he seemed distant and cold. I leaned in and kissed his cheeks, he slightly flinched making it awkward.
“Is everything alright?” I asked worry in my tone. He looked at me with his brown eyes seemingly crying.
“Collin, what’s wrong?” I frightfully asked.
