Waited For The Luna
Chapter 30

I then freshened up and straight to the kitchen. The air smelled breakfast and I could hear the stirring of a pan. When I entered Luka was shirtless but has a pink apron hanging on his neck.

“Good morning! Coffee?” He asked with a big grin while handing me a cup of coffee he made.

“What are you making?” I asked while taking the cup of coffee. He watched me drink my coffee and saw the frown I made on my face.

“Too bitter?” He asked.

“Too sweet. But it’s okay.” I told him.

“Well, you said all you had were takeouts during med school so I made you a healthy breakfast and have packed you lunch for work.” He said. He looked so adorable. Who knew a big bad alpha would be a little fox in front of his mate. “Grilled chicken, garlic rice, and some broccoli. I hope you eat those stuff.”

“Thank you!” I told him while hugging him.

“I don’t want you ordering take-outs while I’m gone. Okay?”

“I don’t have time to cook.” I said shrugging. “Well, you should at least learn a little.” We then sat on the counter. He placed a dainty plate in front of me. “Eggs benedict!” He announced. I then took a bite and was surprised.

“These are so good.” I said munching on my plate.

We then went on with our breakfast. After that Luka took me to work before heading back to the pack. I do feel bad for him. He has a pack to run, a business to help into but he still insists on taking and picking me up to work. Since my time out varies, Luka would call me in the afternoon to check. He’d make sure that he’ll be able to pick me up on time.

However, when I got off work tonight he wasn’t there. I tried calling his cellphone but he didn’t answer. I then decided to wait for him for a while.

I was a little tired and my shoulders felt like being pricked by millions of needles and couldn’t wait to get some rest, so I fished out my phone to check.

“Hey, Dad! How are you doing?”

“A little busy in the infirmary today. Some guards are injured.”

“Is Luka alright?” I asked.

“He is. He left a while ago. Your brother wants you to come home tomorrow for dinner.”

“Okay dad, I’ll come.”

After a little chat, I hang up after saying goodbye. He’s probably on his way here but got late after taking care of the guards. An hour passed and he called to say that he was already outside.

“Hey!” He greeted me.

“I called dad. He said he wants us to go there for dinner.”

“Hmmm” he replied as he started the engine. He looked tired tonight. His face was filled with stubbles and his clothes were ruffled.

The ride home was quiet. When we got home he went straight to the kitchen to make dinner while I sat on the couch tired.

“Bell get up! Dinner’s ready.”

I had my eyes closed and hummed in response. “I don’t feel like eating.” I complained.

“Well, you should’ve told me that an hour ago before I got myself busy in the kitchen.” His tone was sour. He sounded tired and irritated. So I quickly got up not to make him feel upset.

“Hey, it’s okay I can eat. Come on, let’s go!” I then sat at the table and reached my hand to his.

“Noah and Abigail will join us for dinner tomorrow. You sure you want to come?”

“Sure.” He said while gobbling down on the pasta he made. “How is it?”

“It’s good. I’m surprised you know how to cook.” I teased him trying to liven up the mood.

“I learned in high school. Sometimes I didn’t like the cook’s food so as a stubborn kid I made my own food.” He replied with a smile.

“I was too busy studying and avoiding you in high school so I didn’t have time to learn. College was hell so I didn’t have time to learn as well.” I told him.

“I wish I didn’t hate you in high school.” He said while putting my hair behind my ears.

“It’s all in the past now.” I hugged him. Since he cooked I offered to do the dishes but he insisted on doing it. In the end, we agreed to do it together. I was rinsing the plates when I saw him on the couch sleeping.

After I was done I woke him up and hit his shoulder. He squealed a little.

Sensing something was wrong I asked. “What’s wrong? Let me see!” I then sat beside him and tried to check his shoulder.

“It’s nothing I got injured in training but it’ll heal in the morning don’t worry.” He assured.

“Yeah well, you need medicine to speed up the healing process at least.” I then began unbuttoning his shirt. Luka is blessed with the perfect body, everything is so proportionate and lean. The moon goddess really took her time making him.

“Do you stare at your patients like you want them in your bed, Doctor Cross?” He teased taking me out of my trance.

“Don’t flatter yourself. I’ve seen hundreds of bodies already Alpha White.” I told him. He was taken aback and raised a brow.

“In med school.” I told him. “All shapes and sizes.” I added. But not as perfect as his. Taking off the poor bandage on his back I was then shocked by the severity of his wound.

“Luka, what really happened here?” I asked with full seriousness.

“I got shot by an arrow. It’s nothing it didn’t go deep.” He said as he tried to suppress the pain.

“This isn’t any regular arrow. It’s laced with wolfsbane. You can literally die from this, you idiot!” I spat. I then cleaned his wound and extracted the wolfsbane with a syringe.

“Just hold still!” I ordered him as he was moving too much, clenching his teeth, trying to show that he doesn’t feel the pain.

Good thing it wasn’t deep and the wolfsbane was a tiny amount.

“No wonder you look so tired. You didn’t even notice it.” He didn’t answer. “How did you get shot?” I asked him.

“It’s nothing it doesn’t even hurt. We should go up and rest.”

“You know, it wouldn’t hurt you if you lower your alpha ego and lessen your arrogance every once in a while. You didn’t reject me so if you died from that wolfsbane, I would’ve died either!” I was done with his arrogant nature. He would’ve really died if his b***d got infected.

“It also wouldn’t hurt you if you stop talking about rejection and dying, you’re not 18 anymore. I won’t die without marking you, even if it took me years!”

“Then go and wait for a lifetime. I’m going to bed!” I turned around stomping my way to the bedroom.

While I was doing my night routine he entered the room.

“I’m sorry” he said. “I was wrong for not telling and not getting my wounds treated properly.” He said.

I looked at him for a while before saying “How can you be wrong? You’re an alpha. Your word is the word.” I told him.

“Okay, we’re both wrong. How about we call it a truce and go to bed.” He said while hugging me from my back.

I didn’t mind him I just continued applying night cream under my eyes.

“I’ll be leaving in 2 days, I don’t want to fight with you… ever.” He whispered in my ears.

“We’ll stop fighting if you stop being arrogant.” I coldly replied.

“We’ll stop fighting if you stop acting like a teenager.” He jokingly said.

I faced him feeling a little offended. “You want to fight again? Huh?”

“Nope. I surrender.” He raised both his hands in surrender. After saying that he leaned in for a k**s.

“Just because you’re alpha doesn’t mean you can’t get hurt or feel pain. It’s okay to cry and rest for a while.”

“I know that. You’re the only one who can hurt me. Plus, I can’t show the pack that I’m weak. They need me to lead. “

“Crying is not for the weak Luka. You don’t have to be big bad Alpha White all the time. It’s okay to be Luka, someone who feels pain, and someone who needs a little rest.” Saying that I leaned in and gave him a sweet little k**s.

“I love you, Bellamy.” He whispered.

I couldn’t reply since I still have doubts. A lot has already been explained about the mate bond but what if he doesn’t really love me and just feels extreme attraction towards me. Not wanting to answer I just hugged him and he carried me to the bed.
