Chapter 1 I Want a Divorce

“Want me to be harder?” His deep voice echoed in the dimly litbedroom, accompanied by heavy breathing.

On the bedside table, the phone continued to ring, but no oneanswered

Cordelia bit her lip, trying to suppress her moans, but his deep, powerful thrusts into her body were too much to hold back.

Only once a month would they have sex. But tonight, Elijah wasparticularly passionate, almost pushing her to the brink of passing out. However, his eyes remained as cold as ever.

Perhaps because of the incessant ringing, he finished early this time.Still, she followed him shortly after with her own intense climax, herwhole body shaking with pleasure.

He separated himself from her body and answered the phone. Hisindifference pierced her heart.

She was the one who asked Elijah to marry her. They'd been married forthree years, and ever since rumors of his affairs with other womennever ceased.

She pretended not to know about it, even defending him in front of hisparents. Through it all, she maintained the image of their “perfect”marriage on her own.

“Don't cry. I'll be right there.” Elijah’s voice was soft as he spoke on thephone. He never spoke to her like that, and her heart

Then he hung up, walked into the bedroom, and quickly dressed.

“I'm leaving. I won't be staying here tonight,” He said in a flat

tone.

Cordelia stared at him for a long time. He was tall, with broad shouldersand a slim waist. His muscles were well-defined, matching his chiseled, handsome face.

Once upon a time, Elijah was the man that all the socialites in the cityfantasized about. Just one look at his charming smile, and they wereenchanted. It was a pity that Cordelia figured out he was a jerk onlyafter they married.

When Elijah reached the bedroom door, she finally spoke, her

voice emotionless.

“I want a divorce!”

Elijah paused, his cold eyes turning back to Cordelia. “Didn't I satisfyyou enough? What else do you want?”

“I'm tired of this marriage. What's the point of staying together?”Elijah sneered, “You better not change your mind. I hate it when womenbother me.”

“Don't worry,” Cordelia said firmly, “I won't.”

“Whatever!”

With that, Elijah angrily slammed the door and stormed off.

He didn't even put up a fight...

She clutched the quilt tightly as emotions flooded through her, her lipstrembling.

Her only consolation was that at least she made the right choice toleave, before it was too late...

Early the next day, Elijah returned to the villa, deep dark circles underhis eyes from exhaustion.

He ordered his maid Nora, “Tell Cordelia to come downstairs and havebreakfast with me.”

Elijah sat at the dining table, rubbing his temples. He wanted Cordeliato help him massage them. Every time she massaged his temples, itwould ease his headaches.

But to his surprise, Nora replied, “Mr. Hansen, Mrs. Hansen left earlythis morning. She asked me to give these to you.”

Elijah’s eyes suddenly widened. He saw a set of keys, a card, and adivorce agreement.

“That damn woman!”

Gritting his teeth, Elijah took out his phone and dialed Cordelia'snumber. But the call failed, the robotic voice telling him that numberwas no longer in service...

Furious, Elijah slammed the phone onto the dining table, shatteringthe screen.

On the wallpaper of his phone was a photo of Cordelia, a sweet smileon her beautiful face...
