Chapter 129 I Won't Let You Succeed

Imogen raised her eyebrows. "Oh? You didn't deny it for the first time!"Cordelia tilted her head. "So, do you think I was pretending when Idenied it before?"

"Or what?" Imogen's eyes widened.

Cordelia was speechless

However, only a couple knew whether they suited each other.

"The daughter-in-law of Elijah's uncle had a miscarriage again. This isthe third time. His uncle forced his son to get a divorce,” Cordelia saidlightly.

Imogen was stunned. "He is so cruel!"

"Elijah is a smart man. At first, he was rebellious and always against hisfamily. Now, I think he must have figured it out.” Cordelia lowered hereyes and frowned.

"Hey, you're too pessimistic, aren't you? Maybe it's because he likes youmore. It's normal for a couple to fall in love over time.” Imogencomforted Cordelia.

Cordelia forced a smile.

She knew herself well. Their relationship was temporary. Elijah wouldn'tbe with her forever.

Seeing Cordelia like this, Imogen changed the subject. "Oh, by the way,I will leave for Tarssa City next week."

"Has the accommodation been arranged?” Cordelia asked with concern."Yeah. I will temporarily live in the dormitory of the company.” Imogensmiled and said, "When I settle down, I will invite you over.”

Tarssa City was not far from Beilve City. It was only an hour's drive away.Cordelia readily agreed.

Just then, Edith called and asked Cordelia to go back for dinner atnight.

"Cordelia, I just called Elijah, but he didn't answer. You can inform himlater!”

"Okay, Mom."

After hanging up the phone, Cordelia called Elijah. It was Eva whoanswered the phone.

Eva said with a weak, nasal voice, "Elijah will accompany me today.Don't disturb him."

Cordelia was taken aback for a moment and then said, “Let Elijahanswer the phone.”

"No!" Eva choked up. "You all want to take Elijah away from me. I won'tlet you succeed, even if I die."

Then, Eva hung up the phone.

"What a crazy woman!" Cordelia couldn't help but curse.

"What's wrong?" Imogen asked.

Cordelia shook her head and called Elijah again, but she couldn't getthrough.

Eva blocked her from Elijah's phone again.

It was the second time!

Cordelia stood up suddenly. "Imogen, I have to go."

"Hey, Cordelia, where are you going? Do you want me to go with you?"Imogen was worried.

Cordelia paused and thought for a while. "Sure, come with me!"

So, Cordelia drove Imogen to Eva's apartment.

But there was no one in her apartment.

According to neighbors, Eva had moved into a big house.

Imogen sighed, "This apartment in this area makes me jealous, but sheis still not satisfied.”

Cordelia said expressionlessly, "She said that she doesn't care aboutstatus. She only wants Elijah.”

"How dare she say that? She is shameless!" Imogen said indignantly."She is shameless as a mistress.” Cordelia's expression became colderand colder.

She thought of someone who might know where Elijah was at themoment.

So, she called Ben.

"Do you want to know where Elijah is?" Ben sounded in a good mood.He was smiling when he spoke.

But Cordelia thought it was spooky. She wondered what Ben was up to.Sure enough, Ben said, "Let Imogen come to my place. When shecomes, I will tell you!"
