Wake Up! You’re My Ex Now (Cordelia) -
Chapter 74
Chapter 74 I Would Choose Neither of You
Cordelia looked at Elijah in confusion and asked him with her
eyes.
There was anger in Elijah’s eyes, and he warned in a low voice, “Jacob, you are drunk. Let's stop it here!”
Cordelia knew that Jacob was indeed drunk. After all, he was usuallypolite and gentle.
Jacob said, “You know more clearly than anyone that what I said is thetruth.”
Jacob suddenly looked at Cordelia with reddish eyes. “Cordelia, do youknow? My grandma told me that I liked you first, but Elijah’sgrandmother talked with your grandmother about the engagementfirst.
“Later, my grandma also talked with your grandmother.
Because it was only a verbal agreement, they finally decided that whenyou grew up, you would marry whomever you liked. It was the Hansenfamily that snatched you away shamelessly!”
Cordelia was aware that Jacob didn’t really like her. He just regardedher as a toy and wanted to compete with Elijah.
Jacob still wanted to speak, but Cordelia interrupted him coldly,“Jacob, don't make trouble anymore. Since you can't change the fact, why bother to mention the past?”
Jacob looked at Cordelia in astonishment. His lips trembled, and hiseyes were full of sadness.
“You also said that what the elders meant was that I could marrywhoever I like.” Cordelia looked at Jacob without any emotion in hereyes.
This was a tactful reminder and refusal, and Cordelia hoped Jacob couldrealize it.
As Elijah quietly looked at Cordelia“s side face, his eyes became morepassionate.
Jacob supported his forehead, and his figure shook slightly.
In a red dress, Elissa stepped forward at this time. She put her armsaround Jacob's waist and supported him.
She said, “Jacob, you're drunk. I'll take you home.”
Elissa’s voice was soft and charming, which was attractive to
men.
As Jacob smiled, he put his arms around Elissa’s shoulders andstaggered towards the outside.
It wasn't until this moment that Cordelia felt that Elijah had held herhand tightly.
Cordelia looked down subconsciously, feeling a little dazed.
After everyone left, Elijah turned over her body and lowered his head tokiss her, but Cordelia turned her face away.
Elijah was stunned.
Cordelia’s voice was soft, but the words she spoke pierced throughElijah’s body like a sharp sword.
She said, “If I were given a chance to choose again now, I would chooseneither of you!”
After speaking, Cordelia coldly withdrew her hand from Elijah’s palm. She turned around and left the box.
Elijah stared blankly at her back and muttered to himself, “You want tomarry Eason, right?”
Unfortunately, she had no chance to choose again.
An earth-shattering sound came from the box, and the glasswareshattered to the ground.
Since that day, they never had sex again.
Elijah would still go back to the bedroom to sleep, but he would workin the study late every day. Usually, he would come back after Cordeliahad gone to sleep, and he would leave early the next morning.
The two would talk occasionally, but they only talked when it
was necessary.
Cordelia didn't know what Elijah thought, but she thought this kind oflife was quite boring.
Imogen finally appeared that day. She looked much thinner, as if shejust recovered from a serious illness.
Cordelia and Imogen were eating by the window of the
restaurant.
“Have you really broken up?” Cordelia asked worriedly.
