The Kingston Room was located on the top floor of Zaytun Pavilion, which had six floors in total.

The room took up the whole of the sixth floor, and guests were only allowed in after getting through a facial recognition scan. The general public couldn’t even get up there.

As Lorelei thought of ways to humiliate Lucille, the latter had already entered the Kingston Room. She took off her coat and bag and put them on the storage shelf nearby as she said, “I’m sorry for being late,

Grandma.”

She wore a fitting white sweater, tight black pants that showed off her long legs, and casual boots–today was a day for a smart casual outfit.

Marie and Spencer had been chatting away when they heard her. They looked in her direction, and Marie said, “Have you not been eating properly again, kiddo? Why have you lost weight?”

Casey disagreed. She felt like Lucille looked more spirited than before. Lucille looked at her and smiled.”

Ms. Grant.”

Casey nodded. “Hi, Ms. Lucy.”

Lucille sat beside Marie and held her hand. “You’ll think I’m too skinny no matter how much I eat, Grandma. I promise you that I haven’t lost weight, though. Here, feel my face if you don’t believe me.”

She leaned close to Marie. The latter pinched her cheek and said in satisfaction, “Hmm. It does feel better compared to the last time I saw you.”

Then, Lucille started interrogating Marie. She asked whether Marie had felt unwell recently, whether she’d gone to bed on time, and whether she’d taken her meals properly.

Spencer listened to them quietly and noticed that Lucille had set aside her armor for the time being. She was completely relaxed, and her smile was happier than any he’d seen.

It was evident that she cared about Marie more than she cared about anyone else.

He couldn’t help thinking that he would’ve brought her to his side earlier if he’d known about her situation with the Johnson family.

Alas, at the time, he’d been cleaning up the Layton family. It was why he hadn’t had the time to pay attention to her.

Fortunately, he’d still shown up in time to salvage the situation.

“Alright, alright. Stop focusing on me and talk to Spencer for a while. He waited here with me for half an hour, you know. He even went to pick me up earlier. He’s a great guy.” Marie grew more satisfied with Spencer the longer she spent with him.

Only then did Lucille turn to Spencer. She smiled and said, “Thanks.”

“It wasn’t a big deal. Your matters are mine, so it was only right for me to pick Grandma up.” Spencer had always looked at her with tenderness. Now, there was also a hint of love in his gaze.

Lucille avoided his gaze and picked up the glass of water he’d given her before taking a sip. Marie watched them surreptitiously, satisfied by their interactions. She couldn’t stop herself from smiling.

Her eyesight was still perfect, so she could tell the two were a match made in heaven. They were perfect for each other!

“I’ll be happy knowing that you two are getting along well. I hope you can give me a great–grandchild before I die,” she suddenly said.

“Don’t say things like that, Grandma. You have to stay healthy and live a long life,” Lucille said. She ignored the rest of Marie’s sentence.

That didn’t mean Spencer would ignore it, though. He said, “Don’t worry, Grandma. We’ll try our best.”

Marie was overjoyed to hear that. She cried, “Now, that’s what I wanted to hear! I’ll be waiting for my great- grandchild!”

Lucille frowned slightly as she turned to look at him. What was there to try? How could he say these things without feeling embarrassed?

Unfortunately for her, Spencer’s gaze was bold and flirtatious, and she immediately looked away upon meeting his eyes.

She knew now that she was no match for him when it came to these things–he was just too shameless. Soon, a server entered the room with their food.

Meanwhile, in room 202, Lorelei furiously shattered a glass when Lucille failed to show up.
