Chapter 52
After Larry finished laughing, his piercing, murderous gaze fixed on Lucille, as if he wished he could bore two bloody holes into her with his stare.
“You want to know why? Why don’t you ask yourself what you did?” Larry snarled, his gaze filled with rage.
Lucille narrowed her eyes coldly and asked, “Just because of her?”
Larry erupted, “Lucille, you shouldn’t have offended her! You hurt her! She almost died because of you!” Bailey understood then. Larry was doing this for Sabrina, that goody–two–shoes.
“Larry, are you out of your mind?” Bailey snapped.
“Sabrina is a phony, goody–two–shoes, and she’s not about to drop dead any time soon. She’s alive and kicking, isn’t she?
“And let’s be honest, she dug her own grave with this one. Lucille didn’t force her into anything! If Sabrina died, she’d only have herself to blame.”
Bailey was exasperated. How could Larry be so blind to Sabrina’s true nature?
“Shut up! You have no right to talk about her like that!” Larry shouted, pointing at Bailey furiously.
“Bailey, close the door,” Lucille instructed calmly.
Bailey obediently closed the door and then turned on the living room light.
Larry stared at Lucille and Bailey with a sinister grin. He felt confident as a man facing two women.
“Lucille, you should consider yourself lucky that I was only giving you a little warning this time. If there’s a next time, I’ll make sure you don’t get off easy,” Larry said menacingly.
Lucille’s eyes grew colder, the icy glint in them intensifying. “Don’t worry, there won’t be a next time.” Larry froze, and a flicker of panic crossed his face. “What do you mean?”
He suddenly realized how frightening Lucille was, especially with those cold, black eyes that were. devoid of any warmth.
As Lucille stepped closer, he instinctively backed away. The confidence he’d had just moments ago quickly vanished.
“Did you think that I wouldn’t dare to do anything to you?” Lucille asked, her lips curling into a sinister smile.
Larry felt a cold shiver down his spine.
Before he could react, Lucille had already delivered a swift kick to his kneecap. Larry’s knees buckled, and he dropped to the floor with a loud thud. Pain shot through his knee like an electric shock.
But Lucille wasn’t done yet. She appeared behind Larry before he even had time to register the pain and stomped hard on his ankle. He could feel his bones cracking. Then, a sharp pain shot through his

She yanked his hair with one hand, forcing him to arch his head back. He instinctively tried to pull her hand away, but she grabbed his wrists and twisted them, breaking the bones.
Lucille moved quickly and ruthlessly, leaving him no time to react. His wrists went limp, and searing pain spread through his body. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead and back.
She gave him no respite. She slammed his head against the wooden table twice, leaving him dizzy and disoriented.
In just a minute, he felt like his entire body had been taken apart and put back together wrong, as if someone had torn out his bones with a knife.
Bailey stood by the door. She felt the pain just by watching. But she couldn’t help but admire Lucille’s swift, precise, and brutal actions.
“Lu… Lucille, if you have guts, just kill me!” Despite the excruciating pain and panic, Larry tried to sound defiant.
Lucille let go of his hair and grabbed his throat, her cold eyes piercing into his. She raised an eyebrow and smirked. “Death is too easy. I want you to suffer.
Larry shivered, and his pupils dilated in fear. This woman was terrifying.
“You should be thankful that there are people living downstairs. Otherwise, you’d be in much worse shape,” Lucille said, her cold eyes narrowing.
She had been careful to only break his bones quietly and avoid making much noise.
Larry had never expected a woman as slim as Lucille to have such strength and speed.
Suddenly, Lucille laughed. There was a mocking look in her eyes, as though she pitied him. “Larry, is it worth it to do all of this for her? She loves Harold, not you. You’re just a rat hiding in the shadows.”
She glanced around his shabby apartment and continued, “You’ve thrown away your education and career for a woman who doesn’t love you and doesn’t even see you as a person. Have you thought about your parents? Is this how you repay them?
“After the fire and your three years in prison, if you still can’t see her true nature, then you really are pathetic. What’s the point of living like this?”
With that, she released his throat and threw him to the floor.
Stunned by her words, Larry fell into a trance as his mind reeled with memories.
