Kasens POV

We had strayed from the others during our run. It was refreshing and after letting Atlas take control to spend time with Akira, I felt his happiness. It was great to feel. After Akira had marked Atlas in wolf form, I asked him if he would like to return the favor. He gave me a wolfy smirk to me.

“My mate.” he purred out.

He repeated the scenting process and made sure to go extra slow with it. Torturing them. Akira growled in anticipation and Atlas huffed. Pleased that his mate wanted him as much as we wanted each other. Without a second thought, he marked Akira and she howled a beautiful song.

After mating Atlas and Akira laid by the lake. After about an hour of them cuddling, nipping, licking they gave us back control.

Samantha stood up and shook out her Grey fur and jumped into the lake. She came back up and shook herself spraying me with the water. Before I could even stand up, I was tackled.

I look up and see Josh’s brown wolf smirking at me. The group had caught up with us. I and josh continue to wrestle. His wolf is big but not as big as mine. As were sparing were both splashed by a big wave. I looked to see and was amused when I saw Prince Theos Bear floating in the water. Smug bastard

I trudge into the water and stand with Sam watching as our friends and family play around and have a good time. My parents are sparing. Watching my dad let my mom win always amuses me.

Jake and Gemma are in their puppy love phase, and Sam’s parents are laying down and relaxing together Marcus is the odd one out without a mate, but he is having fun just the same sparing with Duke. I look around and see everyone happy. I can’t help but think that this will be one of the last times that we are all together and happy before this war starts. I pray to the goddess that we can all come out unscathed, but I know things don’t always happen the way I want them to.

“What are you thinking about mate?” Sam comes up. She paws at my shoulder.

“Just thinking about family and friends, worrying about this war.” I link her back.

“Yes, love I am worried too. But we are all here. Let’s live in the moment now. We are all family here. You are my family now too.” She boops my snout with her paw and I can’t help but laugh at her goofiness.

We get back to the palace and I take sam up to my apartment. “Our apartment.” Atlas growled out.

“Yes, buddy. Our apartment.” pain in the a*s.

Samantha grabs my hand, “Kasen?” I hum at her.

“Do you think, maybe I could um. Maybe I could sleep with you tonight? I don’t want to be alone after having such a wonderful evening…” she looks down and bites her l*p as her cheeks flush.

“You never have to ask me, baby. My room is your room!” I pick her up and she wraps her legs around my waist, and I carry her to the room.

Kicking the door shut, I plop her on the mattress. I lay next to her and rub my hand up and down her body. We never got dressed after shifting back and I have to say my mate is absolutely gorgeous.

“Your tattoos are beautiful.” I outline all of her art with my finger leaving a trail of goosebumps wherever I touch.

“So I know we have marked and accepted each other but what do you see for our future?” sam asked me.

“Well, I see us winning this war. Implementing your idea of an election system, I see us ruling this kingdom side by side for years to come as equals. I see us having pups. That is if you want them. But I do. I see us annoying each other till the day we join the goddess and beyond then. Everything I see requires you being by my side mate.” I look at her and she has tears running down her face. I’m about to ask her if I’ve said something wrong when she blurts out.

“You want kids? With me?” I hum.

“Yes, Mate. I do. I have always wanted kids, but meeting you makes me want a family. I want all of that with you.” I cup her face and lean down to k**s her. she m***s into the k**s. I woke up the next morning and saw that Sam was still asleep. She looked so peaceful I didn’t want to wake her. I carefully got out of bed and went to the bathroom and turned on the shower. Steam filled the bathroom and I stood under the water.

We received word yesterday that some of the alphas and warriors from other packs would be arriving in the pack today. We had set up housing and accommodations for everyone.

As I was thinking about today’s events, I felt hands snake around my waste. The familiar sparks told me it was my mate and I smiled. She took her hands and rubbed them up and down my chest and stomach. Feeling each ridge and trench of my muscles. I turned around and kissed her passionately.

“Morning pretty lady.” She hums and smiles. What surprised me though is she took my soap and started washing my body. It was a level of intimacy I had never had before, and I loved it.

She took her time and rubbed the suds all over my skin before rinsing me off. She then took my shampoo and washed my hair. I have never once had a woman wash me like that. She had a look of love in her eyes and I just watched her. When she was done, I kissed her nose.
