Samanthas POV

I shifted back and walked up to my dad and this Rogue alpha cautiously.

“Dad, is this our Uncle Rowan?” I asked.

Mom and Jake had joined us. Mom went up and hugged this strange man and Jake stayed by me. We were always shown pictures of our uncle. This man looks similar, just a bit older, more rugged, more hair. He could use a good shave.

“It’s nice to finally meet you, your highness.” He said as he bowed to me.

“If you are family, then there is no need for you to bow to me. How come we have never met you? Dad has only ever shown us pictures of you when he was younger. Also, how is it you’re an Alpha when dad, jake, and I were born betas?” He nodded and looked between Jake and me. He looked at my dad and ushered him to continue.

“You’re not betas. You’re alphas.” Dad looks sheepishly at us and mom just looks down. “Your mother is of Beta b***d. I am of Alpha b***d. My brother was to take the pack where I was born, since he is older. I met your mother and found out she was my mate. Alpha Aarons pack needed a Beta. Since your mother was beta born, she was going to be it, but once she was mated with me, they offered me the position. Normally two alphas in the same pack would cause problems, but we got along well. It was the goddess’s plan. When you all were born, to avoid confusion, we told everyone you were of Beta b***d.” I nodded, but Jake interrupted.

“That still doesn’t answer the question of how he’s the rogue’s alpha or how come we never met him.” They look sad. I can feel their sadness rolling off of them.

“Up until 20 minutes ago, I thought he was dead.” My dad spoke.

“I became the alpha of my pack; everything was going well. When your Dad mated with your mother, I decided to select a new beta. Unfortunately, the beta I chose double crossed the pack and me. They slaughtered all but 30 of us. Out of 250 pack members, only 30 survived. All for greed.” Rowan said as his nostrils flared.

“We decided not to form a new pack and become travelers. We wanted to help the rogues that had nowhere to go but were not lost souls yet. Therefore, I became the Rogue Alpha. We only take in those who are pure of heart and sound of mind. We travel around helping those in need. The goddess told me I needed to come here. I didn’t expect to replace my niece and nephew and my brother.”

“You’re from the Silver Star pack! My father said he heard the word of the slaughter and went to investigate. By the time he got there, everyone was gone. He said that Every pack member had been buried but no signs of who did it.” Kasen said, and Rowan nodded.

“But why didn’t you contact us or try to replace dad? If you had survived?” he looked down in shame.

“I wanted to. I was going to. I got to your pack’s borders and I froze. I was afraid for my people. I knew they wouldn’t be taken in by the pack. They needed me. After that, I just watched from afar. I know I messed up. I should have sent a letter, a phone call or something. But my line of work is also dangerous. We’ve had our fair share of run ins with the wrong kind of folk. I thought I was doing a favor for you all.”

My dad just hugged him. “I would have supported you no matter what. You’re my older brother. No matter now, you’re here.”

Andrew and Rosaline approached. “Whatever happened after the ambush? As soon as we heard of what happened, we left for the Silver Star pack immediately. They were one of our closest packs. It was said they were one of the first packs formed after the goddess created us, along with the royal pack.” Andrew said. That makes sense. We originated from b***d lines of that pack.

“So that’s how I am of royal b***d? Our lineage comes from that pack?” I asked and everyone nodded. Jake gripped my hand. I felt a surge of power like I always do when we touch.

“After the ambush, we cornered all of those who conspired against us. Those wolves are no longer here to tell the tale. I lost good friends, a mate, she was pregnant. I lost so many good people.” I walked up to him and hugged him. He looked shocked that I did. I mean, I am a queen after all, but he is my uncle and he lost everything.

“If you wouldn’t mind meeting with me later. I would like to go over some things regarding that night, for our records. We are waging war on the council and the bear kingdom, so I don’t trust that they didn’t have anything to do with it.” He nodded.

“I was wondering why there was a Bear shifter here. He’s not a threat is he?” Kasen stepped forward.

“No, he is my brother’s mate. He is one of the Royal Bear Princes. He is going against the bear kingdom. We will go over more details in private. We are hosting an Alphas meeting tomorrow to go over all the details. Alphas and their Gammas are welcome. Since you seem to have brought your whole pack, you are welcome to bring a beta too, if you have one.” Kasen said. Theo Gripped Duke’s hand and everyone calmed down.

“Well, that’s enough serious talk for now. We are having a BBQ to get to know one another, and settle in. You and your pack are more than welcome to join us. There is plenty for everyone.” I said with a smile.

Getting back to the BBQ, everyone looked apprehensive. A pack of rogues was here on royal territory and there was no fighting. Alphas and their Gammas were Tense, but amazing things happened. People found their mates. I lost track of how many people found their mates during this event.

“The goddess was right. You are a good judge of character. Look at all the good you have done tonight, love.” I looked around, and Kasen came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me. Marcus stepped out of the castle and froze. He looked at the group of Rogues and his pupils dilated, his nostrils flared.

“I think our Gamma may have just found his mate.” I say with a chuckle.

We watched him sift through the crowd and stopped at a petite shewolf. She had fire red hair pulled back in a Dutch braid. She was a short thing but adorable.

“She looks like she has spunk.” Akira said. I agreed.

“Now we just need to replace Josh mate.” I said and Kasen stopped swaying to the music.

“Did he ever tell you what happened in his past?” I shook my head no.

“Josh was mated before. Her name was Sarah. She died about a year ago. He was heartbroken. We don’t know what happened. All we know is that she was battling depression. She didn’t talk to josh about a lot of it. We were worried they weren’t actually mates due to how closed off she was from him. She came from a bad background. Anyways he came home one day and found her hanging in their room. Ever since then, he has been closed off from love. You were the first shewolf he actually took a liking to. But he has always cherished mates. Mainly for her. That’s why he was so mad at me for how I acted before. He has always thought that if he had the opportunity to love her properly and help her, then she would still be alive. I pray that the goddess gives him a second chance mate.” Kasen said.

The story broke my heart. Poor Josh. He always has a smile on his face, but how much is he truly holding back, how much is he struggling on the inside?

“I’ll make a mental note to talk to him and see how he’s doing. Make sure he knows he’s appreciated.”

Kasen smiled. “I think hell like that very much love.”

Kasens POV

The next morning, we had the Meeting. I was in the dining room, waiting for Sam to come down. I smelled her scent before I saw her and looked up. She was absolutely stunning. I still can’t believe that I was ever going to let her go. She was wearing a Grey sweater knit dress with knee-high boots. Her long brown hair was wavy and shining like silk. I scoot back and pat my thigh and have her sit in my lap.

“Morning, love.” I mumble to her. She’s not a morning person at all and it shows. Despite how radiant her smile is, she will always prefers to sleep in.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?”

I chuckle. “You looked so peaceful. That and I know how you get when you’re woken up early.” She glares at me.

“He’s right you know. You’re like Satan’s spawn when you are woken up early.” Jake said and Sam threw a piece of toast at him.

One by one, the Alphas and Gammas filed into the room, my parents, and Sam’s parents, Alpha Rowan, Marcus, and Josh all piled into the formal dining room. The Omegas brought out a few platters of Bacon, Waffles, Eggs, and Coffee. I piled enough on my plate for the both of us. I took the fork and scooped up some food and fed my mate while listening to everyone at the table. Sam looks at me and bites on the fork seductively.

“Love, if you keep teasing me, I will take you right here right now in front of everyone.” I whisper to her. She blushed, but we all know she is the queen of playing games. I rub her thighs and slowly inch my hand higher. I feel her tense up and I can sense her arousal.

“Two can play at that game love.” I smirk at her and slowly glide my finger over her panties, they are already wet. Waiting for me.

“Alright, alright, truce for now!” she grits out. I squeeze her thigh and start to rub her back in affection.

“Josh, if it is alright with you would you be willing to meet with me later? I want to take some time to get to know both you and Marcus since you both are so close with Kasen?” he looked at Sam and then at me to see if I was okay with it. I nod at him knowing that I trust both of them.

“Sure, my queen.” Sam smiles. Poor Josh doesn’t know what he just signed up for!

After breakfast, Sam and I went to the Conference room to prepare for the meeting. Getting the Projector set up and making sure we have all documents needed. My dad and David are here helping with the wiring and making sure each alpha has a pamphlet of information.

Josh and Jake are going to be bringing people in while Marcus runs the pack for a couple of hours. Gemma is working with My mom, and Lucy to take care of all the pack members and the visiting members.

“Do you want to speak first, or would you like me to hold off?” Sam asked me.

“I will lead the meeting; you are welcome to join in any time you feel you have anything to say or if I forget anything. Have the omegas bring in Water, Coffee, and anything we may need. We will be here for a while. Also, the Witches should be arriving this evening along with some of the Vampires we have allied. This week is going to be stressful, love. I am going to do my best to make it go smoothly.” I tell her. She places her hand on my forearm.

“I am here to help too. Rely on me. I am your mate. I will help you with this. I don’t want everything on just your shoulders.” I smile and nod at her.

“She’s right. It is a joint effort, son. Your mother was my saving grace. I would have been drowning in work if it weren’t for her.” dad mentions.

“I agree. Even though I was only in a Beta position, Lucy helped a lot. Even if it was reducing my stress, helping with workload, or just being there in support.” David brought up.

“You’re all right. Having a mate is new for me and I’m still getting used to it. I am used to doing the work by myself, so it is hard for me to pass the reigns sometimes.” I look at my watch and notice that it is 5 minutes to 10AM. The meeting should start soon. Josh peeks his head through the door.

“We have some of the alphas ready to join you. Are you ready for them?” he asked.
