Wedding Day Vampire -
Chapter 15
“Oh, hey Joana come in, you wanted to see me?” Dana said, placing the book on the bed upon seeing Joana at the entrance.
Joana entered the room and walked towards where Dana sat.
“Yes, I did,” she said. “I went to your room but you weren’t there. Derick told me where to replace you.”
“Sorry, sometimes I just get carried away and come here. This is the only part of the castle that reminds me of Marylin. It’s like I can still feel her presence here, you know.”
“We used to hang out here a lot. I would visit her here and she would always read me stuff from her diary.” Dana then picked up the book she was reading and gave it to Joana.
“It’s a magic diary, it was given to her by a pixie,” she said. “It’s pages never wither and only the owner can read it. Try and see if you can.”
Joana held the book to her eye and turned one of the pages open. There was nothing written there, just blank pages staring at her. Then suddenly, before her eyes, the words began to appear one by one on the pages, like magic. She began to read what she saw.
Dear diary,
Like all the other days, today is a special day. Today is the love of my life, Derick’s one hundredth year as a vampire. Dana baked a special cake, but unfortunately none of us could eat it, so we ended up throwing pieces of it down the mountain. I had so much fun decorating Derick’s handsome face with the cake. I wish everyday could be like this…
She had read some lines before Dana stopped her.
“Of course, it makes sense that you can read it. It’s your diary after all. You can keep it. Probably you’ll see something she wrote there that will be helpful to your quest.”
“Thank you,” Joana said. “I really appreciate it, and I’m sorry for all I said to you today. I didn’t know Marylin meant so much to you, and I made it look like you guys had made her so unhappy.”
“It’s fine,” Dana said.
“No, it’s not, all the things I’ve said to you were terrible even though you’ve only been helping me. I wish I could make it up to you, and I hope that we will be able to continue the friendship I once had with you in my first life while I am still here.”
“Thank you. I’d like that too,” Dana said with a smile.
Much to her surprise, Joana moved closer to her and gave her a warm embrace.
“Thank you for coming to see me,” Dana said again.
“I should be the one thanking you, you’ve been very helpful to me even though I failed to see it and now you’ve given me a starting point towards my quest,” Joana said, holding up the diary.
“I only returned it to its owner, but still glad I could help.”
After their conversation, they both left Marylin’s room and retreated to theirs. Joana jumped on her bed, excited to start reading about the many secrets her ancestor had written about in this diary. She hoped that Marylin would write about how she found the supreme council.
