Wedding Day Vampire -
Chapter 43
They flew to the side of the cliff and went through the falls and into the cave. They were already partially drenched from the waterfalls.
Derick tried to look into the cave to see if anyone or anything was there. It was a small cave, and one would replace it hard to believe that a mighty dragon would dwell here.
Suddenly they heard a small feminine voice.
“Who goes there?”
They looked at each other, waiting for the other person to respond before Joana decided to after Derick gave her a “it’s your quest” look.
“We are vampires, we have come to ask for something.”
She hadn’t prepared anything to say and was unsure if she gave the right answer, but it was better than saying nothing.
There was a long period of silence and Joana was beginning to wonder if the voice heard her correctly. They began to hear a small rattling noise coming from the other end of the cave and suddenly a small black lizard came into view, the lizard didn’t crawl like a normal one did, but stood upright with a royal charisma, its shoulders lifted with a look of boldness on its face as it walked towards them.
And surprise? The one who they thought was the lizard was the black dragon. Joana recognized the look of the dragon by pictures from the books she had read but didn’t say anything after she realized this. Derick had realized it too and was as shocked as she was but also kept his thoughts to himself. They both didn’t want to annoy the great black dragon, even though she didn’t come in the size they expected.
“Welcome to the watery cave, my name is Yin,” the little dragon said.
They both got on their knees to pay their respects but more so they could be on a closer level with the tiny dragon.
“Hello Yin, my name is Joana and this is my friend Derick.”
“You look familiar, have we met before?” She asked Joana.
“Yes, I might have come here in a past life,” Joana was unsure if the council had given her the same set of ingredients they gave Marylin to replace, this explained the uncertainty in her voice.
“That would have been a long time ago,” Yin said.
“Yes, I was Marylin Lou then, she was my ancestor.”
“Aha!!! You ARE Marylin, I remember you now, or your ancestor rather, she came here for my tears!”
“Yes,” so it turned out the supreme council had given her the same things they gave Marylin to replace.
“You’re most welcome, please sit down,” Yin said.
They looked around, there was nothing else to sit down on except the cold bare cave floor. They just decided to play along anyway and got off their knees.
“And who is this fine young man?” She indicated to Derick.
“This is Derick, a good friend of mine, he accompanied me here.”
“It’s nice to meet you Derick, I’m Yin.”
“It’s nice to meet you too Yin,” Derick said before Yin changed the topic.
“So, what did you come here to ask anyway?”
“We came here to get the same thing Marylin did, we need some of your tears.”
“My tears huh? Well, I don’t really have plenty of that anymore since I stopped crying centuries ago. I saved only a small bottle of it for something special.”
Joana looked at Derick, she was unsure of what to ask Yin next that wouldn’t annoy her. Why did you stop crying or, can you give us the only bottle of tears you have left? She didn’t know which one to ask
Yin continued speaking.
“Dragon tears never dry up and before I stopped crying, my tears would always fill up this cave and would then flow into the lake, that was what gave the cave its name. I had a big pool of tears before, but I gave it all out to vampires who came here in need of vamscren. I reserved a bottle for a special occasion.”
“I’ve read all about you, Yin. I must say that I think it is an honor to meet you in person and I am peculiar to hear your story.”
“Why thank you!” Yin said with a smile. “If you’ve read all about me then you must have read about my story as well.”
“Yes, I have, but I would like to hear it from the dragon’s mouth if you don’t mind.”
“Ok, so what did you read about? Let me confirm it for you if it’s true or not.”
“I read about you and your brother, Yang, and how you both have worked so hard to bring balance to the earth, but yet Yang gets praised for it all and you are then blamed for all the bad things and misfortune in the world, because of your black color, hence you cry every day. But I am happy now that you’ve stopped crying. It must mean that people of the world have begun to recognize your efforts.”
Yin nodded her head as Joana spoke, she waited for her to finish before she began.
“You know Joana, when Marylin came here, I loved her spirit as much as I love yours now and she was the first person I needed to end my unending pool of tears, I will now tell you the real truth about me and my brother, Yang, and the real reason I stopped crying.”
