Welcome Home Mate -
Chapter 99
ROXIE
FOUR DAYS LATER
My heat was insane.
I was like a wild wolf, trying to jump Lex every time it flared. We stayed in the house for the last three days.
I was laying here awake while looking at the ceiling.
I had to go to the bathroom but didn't want to move.
My body ached everywhere, even in places I didn't know existed.
Lex had me in every position and room like he said he would. Blaze took over at one stage as Lex went rougher. Bex was even trying to come forward too; it was hard to control her sometimes. The whole experience was weird, to say the least.
I looked back at Bex, but I knew she was still sleeping. Her soft snores were echoing around my head.
I looked back to my side and noticed Lex, who had his arm over his face, but I couldn't tell if he was sleeping.
I moved slowly, only to tense at the pain between my thighs.
"What's wrong?" Murmured Lex, "You're in pain; what's wrong?" Worry came through the mate bond, and I looked over my shoulder to see him staring at me.
I sigh.
"I'm okay," I said. "I'm sore from our activities for the last three days."
Lex stared at me, but a slow smile itched the corners of his mouth.
"Your heat was insane," he said. "It affected us too. Well, the more than it should."
I frowned.
"How?" I asked. "You weren't burning up or anything."
Lex moved up in bed and leaned against the headboard. His eyes never left mine.
"Not in that way," he said. "Your scent was stronger. When your heat came, it made everything through the mate bond heightened and more prominent, and your scent would make us want you more and even send us into a mess." My eyes widened at him.
That didn't make sense.
Lex stared at me.
"I don't know what to say," I said.
I moved off the bed, taking it slow. I couldn't help but look at my thighs; there were hickeys in between them that Lex had left.
Well, anything short to wear was out of the question, I thought.
I walked but moved slowly to the bathroom.
I walked in and did what I had to do; after a few seconds, I was ready to climb back into bed.
I walked to the bathroom door, and Lex was in the same position I had left him, but his face was blank. He was mind-linking with someone.
I strolled back to bed and climbed in next to him. I sat next to him and placed my head on his shoulder.
After a few moments, I felt his hand go into mine.
I smiled.
"My father wants us at the office," he murmured. "If you up to it, that is."
I nodded but didn't say anything.
"I asked him about what I was on about to you with your heat; he seems to think it might be to do with me replaceing you earlier, and also, being an alpha would have heightened everything, too," he said. That does make a lot of sense, especially now that we were both Alpha and Luna.
I leaned on him, but I have to admit I didn't want to move from this position. I liked being like this with him; it was perfect.
"Rox," he whispered, moving his head. He placed a kiss on my head. "We need to be Alpha and Luna now, even though I could stay like this with you."
I sighed and moved slightly but looked back at him with a smile.
"Ok," I said. "I guess we should. What about food?"
Lex chuckled.
"Dad has got a spread of food in the office for us," he said. "It will be us, Dad, Tim, Keith, and Nora."
I looked at him, confused.
Who was Nora?
Mind was turning, but Lex spoke.
"I forgot to tell you," he said, looking guilty. "We were rather occupied mind, or I would have told you when you were awake, but you slept most of the time and would only wake when your heat came back." I stared at him blankly.
Lex was right. Every time my heat came, we went at it like rabbits. Every time we finished, I was too exhausted to stay awake, and sometimes my heat would wake me up. So the whole three days, it was eating, sleep, and s*x. There was no talking in between, only moaning.
"Your uncle found his mate at the fight," he said, pulling me out of my thoughts and making my eyes widen.
Uncle Keith found his mate. He had been waiting for a long time and thought she was dead. He always threw himself into his work and fighting.
"What is she like?" I asked as I looked at Lex, but he shook his head. "I'm not telling you," he said and moved toward me, kissing my shoulder. "You will see her in the office when we get there. I only know that she can't wait to meet you." I smiled.
Lex leaned further and placed a tender kiss on my lips.
Lex moved, and I followed suit.
"I don't think we will hear much from Blaze and Bex," he said as he walked toward the closet. "They were also affected by the heat."
I didn't say anything, but I agreed with him; Bex won't move for the next few hours.
Lex and I quickly got dressed and headed downstairs.
We headed straight for the front door and walked out.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath; it was nice to be outside. I missed training and running. I needed to get back to them.
Lex held out his hand, and I took it as we walked toward the pack house. A few members were out, and as we walked past, most bowed and spoke to us.
We soon walked inside and headed straight to the office, where my dad, uncle Keith, Alpha Frank, and a woman were sitting around a table that had been brought into the office. Food was placed all around, and there were two empty seats waiting for us. Alpha Frank looked up and smiled.
"Lex, Roxie," he said. "Come and sit."
We walked over and took our seats.
I glanced at my father, who smiled. Then I focused on my uncle and the woman next to him. I couldn't help but admire her beauty; she was stunning. Her scent wafted toward me, which sent shivers through me.
A witch.
"Rox," uncle Keith said as he met my eyes. "This is my mate Nora, Nora; this is my niece and Luna of this pack."
Nora turned to look at me and smiled.
"Luna Roxie, it is so lovely to meet you," she said. "I was hoping to speak to you, but Keith told me you were in heat."
A blush spread across my face at the mere mention of my heat. It's normal for she-wolves to have, but talking about it with men around was another matter to me, especially in front of my father and uncle.
I could feel Lex's hand on my thigh, which made me look at him. He smiled.
I cleared my throat.
"It's nice to meet you," I said, glancing back at Nora.
Nora smiled, but she c****d her head to the side. "You are trying to figure out about me," she said, and a smile itched the corner of her mouth. "I'm a witch. I lived amount the Elder pack. I am now moving wherever Keith goes." I nodded.
"I wasn't..." I started to say, but she shook her head. "It's ok," she said. "I would be suspicious, especially after what you and your pack went through."
I gave her a small smile.
There was silence, but Alpha Frank cleared his throat, making us all look at him.
"Why don't we all dig in?" He said, pointing to the food on the table. "We can catch the new alpha and Luna up on what has been happening over the last three days."
We all started to dig in, and after a few mouthfuls, Alpha Frank began to tell us everything.
"Well, the ultimate fight was a big success," he said. "Everyone was so pleased. Many alphas came up afterward and asked if they could make an appointment to meet with Alpha Lex and work on a treaty with them." My eyes widened.
"They did," I asked, placing my fork down.
Alpha Frank nodded.
"Yeah," he said, looking at me, but his eyes went to Lex. "I think we should come up with something, make an alliance with them, so if any of them need help when it comes to rogues, we can help, and the same goes with us." I looked at Lex, who nodded.
"Sounds like a plan," he said and looked at me but looked back at his father. "How about you and I go back and work something out?"
I looked at Alpha Frank, but he looked at me. "What will our Luna be doing?" He asked with a smile.
"Training," I said. "I missed out on three days; I don't want to be behind."
Alpha Frank nodded, but Lex cleared his throat, which made me look at him.
"Actually, Rox, I was thinking," he said as he looked at me. "How about you start training all the new pack members? Try and get them to a place where old pack members are."
I nodded; I liked that idea, but a thought came to mind.
"Yeah," I said, "but I want to run something past you; how about we try training some of the pups? Not the young ones, but from ten onwards, I mean just some basics."
Lex looked at me for a moment, but I carried on. "I think it will benefit them," I said, glancing around the table and letting my eyes land back on Lex. "Just in case they replace themselves in a bind or stumble on a rogue, and no one is around." Lex stared at me, but a slow grin crept across his face.
He looked over to his father, "we will have Roxie train them and anyone else who wants to know more techniques," he said.
I glanced at Alpha Frank, who nodded.
I looked toward my father, who looked proud.
"What do you think, Dad?" I asked.
My father nodded.
"I believe it is a good idea," he said, "you would definitely get the little ones ready."
I smiled.
Uncle Keith and Nora nodded.
"I would like to join," she said with a smile, "I only know a few basics, but I would love to be trained by you."
I smiled.
"Yeah, sure," I said.
We all went back to eating, and the conversation flowed naturally.
"The elders were impressed by Luna Roxie," exclaimed Nora. "Elder Issac nearly had a heartache when he heard the break she caused in that girl's leg."
I stared at her, feeling slightly concerned. Nora shook her head, "Oh, don't worry," she said. "He didn't have one. He didn't expect you or Alpha Lex to do what you did."
I looked at Lex, but something clicked.
Demon.
"I forgot to ask, what happened with Demon?" I asked.
Lex looked at me and started to tell me what Nathan had told him. I couldn't help the anger that came.
"What happened to Tammy and Demon?" I asked, looking around, but my eyes landed on Alpha Frank, who had a grin.
"Oh, he is back at Alpha Gareth's pack," he said. "Both of them, actually. It seems the rogues helped themselves the last time to money and valuables too. Alpha Nathan and Alpha Gareth have them in the cells, but an elder will be there, and they will kill them." I stared back, wide-eyed.
Good, they deserve death. I was not only stealing but blackmailing Alphas too. There would be no better punishment for them; besides, it sends a message to everyone that the pack will not tolerate any behavior. After another hour, everyone decided to leave.
I moved from the table and was about to go when Lex wrapped his arms around me and leaned into my neck, exhaling my scent.
"Where do you think you are going?" He murmured against my neck.
He kissed my neck.
"I'm going to train," I said, clearing my throat, trying not to let him know he was affecting me. "You need to stay with your father and come up with that treaty for the alphas, and I will see you back at the house." Lex kissed my neck again but didn't move.
"Actually," he said, pulling back, which made me look over my shoulder as he continued talking. "My father and I will talk, but I won't stay too long," he said, "I will come to the training grounds and train with you." I smiled.
"Okay," I said. "I will see you in a little bit."
Lex nodded and let me go.
I walked out of the office and headed to our house to get changed for training.
I wanted to train and take notes on who needed to prepare more.
I wanted this pack to be prepared for anything.
