Chapter 88 Are You Seducing Me?

Josephine jumped. She immediately closed the curtains and turned around, looking at the door.

Seth entered with a shopping bag and casually placed the keys on the TV console. With her back pressed against the balcony sliding doors, she watched cautiously as Seth approached her. Seth stopped in his tracks. His gaze shifted from Josephine's face to her chest. Josephine immediately covered herself with her hands.

He chuckled and sauntered over to her. "What is the point of you covering it up?" He went in close to her ears and said flirtatiously, "While you passed out, I even gave you a shower." Josephine's eyes widened. She turned around to glare at him, but since they were too close to each other, her lips brushed against his when she turned her head.

Even if it was only for a short moment, she could already sense the warmness on his lips.

Seth was still bending over. He turned his head slightly, and his short curls fell against the side of his face.

Their gaze met. They were so close they could hear each other's heartbeat and breathing.

He placed his slender finger on his lips while his eyes gleamed dangerously. Josephine noticed his

gaze, and she was terrified once more. She kept retreating, but the sliding glass doors were behind her. She had nowhere to go.

She clenched her fists on the curtains so hard that her knuckles turned white.

"Are you seducing me?" Seth's tone was no longer gentle but icy.

Josephine quickly shook her head. Her gaze had undeniable fear in them, like a startled fawn- pitiful, yet enticing.

Seth grabbed her by the chin, his thumb slowly wandering upward until her palm was wrapped around her face.

Josephine's eyes gleamed with fear. She lowered her gaze, following the motion of his hand. She felt as if a slap was about to come at any moment.

"Do you

seduce Lewis like this often? No wonder he doesn't want to divorce you," Seth said to himself while caressing her ears and her hair.

Josephine's lips quivered, and her heart was about to burst out.

Suddenly, he grabbed her by the back of her head and slammed her head against the glass. door. She heard a thud and saw black, then she slumped to the floor lifelessly.

Seth stood in front of her and bent down. He lifted her chin. "Why are you not answering? Oh, I forgot you're mute, but the doctor said your brain needs to be stimulated to remember. How do you feel? Do you remember anything?"

Josephine's world was spinning. There was buzzing in her ears, so she couldn't hear what Seth was saying.

Seth sighed and placed the shopping back in her arms. "It's too bad I can't stay and play with you any longer. Your husband is truly amazing. He has already suspected me, or more like, he already knows it was me." Seth continued, "But do you know what he said? Forget it. He doesn't care about you anyway. Josephine, should I pity you, or should I say you're pathetic?"

Josephine finally endured the pain and could finally hear once more when Seth's words made her heart bleed.

She looked up, and a stream of blood flowed down from the top of her head to the corner of her eyes, then to her mouth. A long line of blood drew across her face. Seth pretended he didn't see it. He took the clothes out of the bag. "Put them on. Your friend is still waiting outside."

When she heard the word friend, she snapped back to reality. Not caring about the pain in her head, she grabbed her clothes and stumbled back to the bedroom. Seth stood up. This time, he didn't deliberately try to humiliate Josephine, letting her change in the room. He looked at the door intensely, thinking to himself. When Josephine came out, Seth was nowhere to be seen. Her phone was placed on the coffee.

table.

Josephine was still thinking about Avery; she had no time to think if Seth was up to

something. She took her phone and left. She was on the 32nd floor, the highest floor. She took the elevator to the ground floor but didn't see Avery anywhere.

She did not know why, but she returned to the elevator again and headed to the parking lot.

When she exited the elevator, she scanned her surroundings and noticed a black Volkswagen nearby with its headlights still on.

Josephine mustered up the courage to head over and noticed that there was someone inside. When she was near, she realized it was Avery in the car with her hands tied up, a tape over her mouth, and blindfolded.

Josephine immediately opened the door and got in the car. When Avery heard movements, she made angry noises as if she was scolding someone.

Josephine reached out and pulled down her blindfold. Avery looked at her and was so shocked

that she froze.

Josephine looked at Avery with a complicated gaze for a few seconds before untying her. Once Avery was free, she tore off the tap on her mouth. "Josephine, it's you!"

Josephine bent down to untie the ropes on Avery's feet before looking at her. She gestured to Avery. "What happened?"

Avery furrowed her brow and thought in detail for a while before saying, "The other night, I received an anonymous message saying that you were in danger and if I didn't go to rescue you, you were going to die."

It was the exact same thing that Seth told her.

Avery continued, "So I followed directions and went to your place to look for you. I thought I wouldn't die if I just went to check up on you. What if you really were in danger? I went over, and I found you in the storage room. You had already passed out then. Do you know how angry I was back then? I told myself that no matter what, I'll have to take you away from that jerk. Even if Lewis hunts me down, I'll be alright. So, I left him a set of divorce papers and took you away when Lewis was not in Elysium. I thought of taking you to a clinic, but the man seemed to know what I was trying to do, so he got me to take you to him. He told me he has found you a doctor, so I went to him."

Then, Avery drove to the place as instructed, and when she was carrying Josephine to the meetup point, someone knocked her out from behind. When she came around the next time, her hands and legs were tied up, and she was also blindfolded.

Luckily, the other person only kidnapped her and did nothing to her. She did not know how long she was kidnapped until Josephine took off her blindfold.

That was what had happened to her.

Avery held Josephine's hand. "What was going on? Who was the one who kidnapped us? Did they do anything to you?"

Josephine pursed her lips. She decided not to tell Avery, as she didn't want her to get involved.

When Avery saw that she was not answering, she shifted her gaze to the injury on her forehead. Although Josephine had done a simple clean-up to stop the bleeding, there were still blood marks on her hairline.

"A-are you injured?"

Josephine shook her head and signed, "I accidentally fell. I don't know who kidnapped me, but they sent me a message saying you were downstairs, so I came to look for you." "That's strange. What do they want?"

Josephine looked at her with conflicted feelings. No matter what Seth wanted to do, if they were to return at that moment, Lewis would not show any mercy to Avery.

She suddenly grabbed Avery's hand and looked at her seriously for a moment and signed. "Avery, let's leave Elysium."
