Chapter 911 Don't Feel Well

Josephine was having a fever.

She was burning up at a temperature higher than she had ever had in the past-108.5°F. The doctor was shocked bevond measure when he saw the number.

The doctor frantically applied physical methods of cooling and administered antipyretic drugs. In short, he gave her all the medication she should be given. As Lewis stood by the side quietly, his line of sight landed on her wrist.

The skin of her entire wrists was scraped. After her wrists were soaked in water, the red spots were especially apparent. Her skin was pale, so the deep rope burns stood out even more.

After the doctor was occupied for two hours, he saw the temperature on the thermometer had been reduced. He was so exhausted that he collapsed on the chair.

Mr. Alvarez, her fever has been reduced. Her temperature is now 102.2°F. Let's see if she would burn up again at midnight. If her temperature doesn't increase, she'll be fine."

Lewis nodded, then he asked, "Does she have any other injuries on her body?"

The doctor was stunned when he heard that. He was so busy cooling Josephine down earlier that he had not noticed.

"I'll check again," the doctor said. At first glance, he saw the injuries on Josephine's wrists.

He took Josephine's hands and lifted the covers to look at her ankles.

"It seems like Mrs. Alvarez had been tied up before. These are probably abrasions from struggling. Look at this spot. The rope almost dug into her flesh. She also has bruises. I'm not too sure if she was beaten. It looks like she got them from falling."

Lewis pursed his lips and stared at the person on the bed without saying anything

The doctor looked at her head and face. "There're a few wounds on her head. Also, her scalp is bleeding a little. It looks like someone yanked her hair."

The doctor's voice gradually became softer as he spoke. What kind of torture had she actually experienced?

He turned back to glance at Lewis. Lewis's expression was unreadable, but his gaze looked very complicated. "Mr. Alvarez..." the doctor called.

"Treat her properly. You're dead if you can't cure her," Lewis said suddenly, and his words frightened the doctor.

The doctor looked at him in a daze. Lewis didn't look like he was just trying to scare him.

"A-alright. I got it." The doctor didn't dare to take a break anymore. He frantically stood up and opened his first-aid kit.

Lewis was sitting near the doctor and staring at him like a hawk.

Even if the doctor had nothing much to do, he had to make himself look busy. Therefore, he gave Josephine a checkup.

What he gathered from the examination shocked him.

Josephine's body was in a far weaker state than she looked. It seemed like she was drained.

The doctor suspected that Josephine had probably had an abortion recently. However, she didn't have proper rest and had various complications. As a result, she looked like nothing but a ghost of her former self.

He then glanced at Lewis cautiously.

"Out with it."

Lewis suddenly spoke and frightened the doctor so much that he backed away. The doctor almost wanted to say that Josephine did not look like she was going to have a long life, but he quietly held his tongue.

He was afraid that Lewis would ask him to treat her. If he failed, he would be dead. Therefore, the doctor lied, "She just has some superficial injuries. It's not a big deal. She's in good health.

Lewis gazed right at the doctor as if he wanted to bore into him. After a while, he broke his gaze and looked down at his phone.

Someone was calling him.

It was Sierra.

"Lewis, hurry up and come save me. A producer is trying to take advantage of me! I can't believe that this jerk doesn't even know me." "Hand the phone to him."

"I can't. I'm in the restroom. I think there's something wrong with the drink I had. These people are so terrible. Hurry up and come save me." Lewis glanced at Josephine, who was lying on the bed. He fell silent for a while before saying,"

Send me the address."

Sierra sent her address to him immediately.

Lewis got up and walked out. When he got to the door, he looked back and said to the doctor, Take good care of her."

The doctor nodded in a daze.

Lewis left without looking back anymore.

The doctor sighed deeply, then collapsed on the chair and looked at the unconscious Josephine. with a pitiful gaze,

Lewis got to the club, found the restroom for ladies, and called Sierra.

Not long after, Sierra walked out, swaying from side to side.

When she saw Lewis, she rushed straight into his arms and looked at him with teary eyes. Lewis, you're finally here. If you didn't come, I might not be able to go home today. I would be too ashamed to see you in the future, and I can only end my life."

"Don't spew nonsense." Lewis bent over and carried her in his arms. "I'll take you home."

Sierra wrapped her arms around her neck and said, while acting cute, "Are you afraid that I'll die?"

Lewis lowered his head and glanced at her.

Sierra's makeup that day was very exquisite. Her bright red lips were seductive yet not gaudy. She was a vixen worthy of the name.

However, Lewis said, "Don't put on such heavy makeup when you're going out at night in the future."

Sierra was stunned. She buried her head in his chest as she was sullen, and she stroked his chest with her finger. "Lewis, I don't feel well."

"Don't touch me."

"Where did you park your car?"

Lewis didn't answer her. He simply carried her to the parking lot and put her in the back seat. Just as he was about to get up and leave, Sierra suddenly grabbed his tie and pulled him down.

"Lewis."

Sierra looked at him affectionately. Her eyes were so seductive that she could almost take someone's soul away.

Lewis stared at her calmly.

Sierra plucked up the courage to get closer to him. In the next second, Lewis grabbed her hand and pulled his tie out of her hand. Sierra panicked. "Lewis!"

He was already standing outside the car, straightening his tie. He looked at her with a slight warning. "Don't use such dirty tricks."

Upon saying that, he slammed the car door and went to the driver's seat.

Sierra was dumbfounded as she lay on her side at the back. Her eyes were a little dazed.

How did he know? That producer was indeed interested in her, but he didn't spike her drink. It was all her own doing.

She wanted to take this opportunity to sleep with Lewis. She could make the producer a scapegoat anyway. She didn't expect Lewis would see through her trick. Sierra felt. exasperated, but more than anything, she felt sad.

Probably nobody would believe her if she told them this. Lewis doted on her, embraced her, and was affectionate with her in front of others. He would even spend the night at her home. When people tried to set him up with a woman, he would say his girlfriend would get angry. When she beat, cursed, and drove all the women who tried to approach him, he indulged her. Even if they were ladies from eminent families, Sierra would dare to raise her hand at them. Lewis would then personally pay them a visit to apologize after that.

In the eyes of other people, he loved her very much.

However, only Sierra knew he had never touched her in all these years.

Not even once.

Sierra knew he only loved himself, but other than the love he had for himself, she had no idea.

how much love he had for her.

Perhaps it was the effects of the alcohol kicking in, but she could not help but lay on her. stomach in the back seat and start to cry.

She cried and threw a tantrum.

"Lewis, do you love me or not? Why are you so cold to me? I hate you! You're really a big jerk! I'm so unlucky to have fallen in love with you!" Sierra hit the back of her seat while crying. Lewis remained unbothered. He kept driving

quietly, letting her cry and throwing a tantrum at the back.

"Say something..." Sierra felt slightly hopeless as she cried. "Do you love me?"
