Willow replied with a smile before Hansel could reply,” was the one who picked this place. I thought since it’s close to campus, we wouldn’t have to drive or make any reservations in advance. It’s simple and convenient, and the food here isn’t bad either.”
Sam grunted indifferently. luck with women,” he said.
Was unclear whether he believed her or not. “Mr. Johnson always has good
Hansel always got together with thoughtful women who were willing to cater to him.
Willow maintained a smile on her face as she glanced around the table. “Oh, Dr. Jefferson is here too? Looks like we’re all acquaintances. Why don’t we sit together?” she suggested enthusiastically.
Then, she turned to Hansel and asked, “What do you think?”
He shrugged. “I’m fine with it, as long as you’re okay.”
“Um…” Jack suddenly spoke up. “I’m sorry, but we’ve just finished our meal.”
Willow was confused. “Huh?”
“Were you hoping to sit at our table? Perfect timing then, come on over…” Jack stood up immediately and grabbed his coat.
Paul, Sam, and Miranda also stood up and made way for the couple.
Jack said, “Alright, you two can sit now.”
Willow and Hansel were lost for words as Sam said, “I go settle the bill.”
Jack chimed in, “I’ll come with you.”
Miranda added, “Let’s all go together.”
With that, the four of them went toward the cashier and soon left the restaurant. Hansel and Willow were left standing awkwardly by the table, unsure of whether to sit or remain standing.
Willow lowered her gaze. I’m sorry. It seems… I wasn’t much help at all.”
Hansel sat on the chair expressionlessly and pushed the menu toward her. “You order.”
She cautiously ordered three dishes and asked him, “What do you want to eat?”
Hansel shook his head. “No, I’m good.”
He smoked three cigarettes, one after another, while waiting for the food..Amid the curling wisps of smoke, a dangerous glint flashed in his cold eyes.
It was another Monday. After their morning classes, Miranda, Madison, and Sebastian headed straight to Dunham College next to their campus.
They entered the lab, put on their lab coats, and started working on their tasks.
At noon, they made their way to the cafeteria. The place was packed with long lines forming at every

counter. The counter selling vongole had a queue that stretched nearly to the entrance.
Miranda and Sebastian both frowned at the sight. Only Madison seemed excited and eager to give the food a try.
The longer the line, the better the food, right?
Miranda said, “I’ll have chicken chop.” She headed for a line that was relatively shorter. Sebastian was about to follow her when…
“Seb…” Madison whined.
He stopped in his tracks as Madison asked eagerly, “Are you sure you don’t want to line up with me for the vongole? It’s really good!”
Sebastian felt reluctant when he looked at the long queue ahead. However, when he turned back and saw the hopeful look in Madison’s eyes, he nodded inexplicably after some hesitation.
“Yes!” Madison jumped up and down with joy, as if she had springs in her feet. A discreet smile tugged at Sebastian’s lips.
Miranda was the first to get her food. Madison and Sebastian quickly followed and sat down at the table.
“See, we didn’t wait that long. We’re only a few minutes later than Miranda,” Madison remarked.
Sebastian replied, “Yeah.”
“Oh? You’re not eating the clams?”
“I don’t like them.”
“Then give them to me! No point wasting food…” With that, Madison pushed her plate toward him.
Without a word, Sebastian lowered his head and quietly picked out the clams from his plate and placed
them in hers.
At 12:40 pm, the three of them finished their meal and prepared to leave. Before they got out of the cafeteria, a young man suddenly rushed up and blocked Miranda’s path.
He took a deep breath and said, “Um… May I know which department you’re in? I’ve noticed you for time. Can I get your number?”
