When Love Comes Late
Chapter 1227

Since Stella’s arrival, she had monopolized Leo’s attention.

Now, with Stella being married, Nola’s fears of losing Leo were allayed.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Nola suggested, “Stella, perhaps you could invite your husband over.

It would be delightful to include him in our gathering.

Nola was convinced that Leo’s lingering thoughts about Stella would dissipate once he witnessed her marital status.

Stella, however, declined politely.

“I appreciate the offer, but I have prior commitments.

Turning to Keith, she added, “There’s a party awaiting my presence downstairs.

I must excuse myself, but I promise to visit again when time permits.

“Are you leaving so soon?” Keith’s reluctance was evident, but he respected her time.

“Could I perhaps have your number? It would be wonderful to reconnect at a more opportune moment.

After exchanging numbers, Stella departed, leaving Keith looking on.

Throughout the exchange, Leo remained silent, his gaze fixated on Stella.

Even after she vanished behind the closed door, his eyes lingered, lost in thought.

Unable to bear his apparent distraction, Nola coughed pointedly, snapping Leo back to reality.

He casually sipped his wine, a subtle smile playing on his Lips.

As he reflected on his extended stay in Seamarsh, a thought crossed his mind.

There would be ample opportunities to meet Stella again.

As Leo’s grip on his glass tightened, his thoughts were preoccupied with the identity of the man fortunate enough to marry Stella.

The knowledge of her marital status was a bitter pill to swallow, stirring a mix of curiosity and concealed disappointment within him.

Back in the private box, Stella’s train of thought was interrupted by a sudden recollection.

Besty had been about to share something earlier, only to be cut off by Nola’s interjection.

Curious, Stella turned towards Besty with an inquiring look.

“Besty, you were about to tell me something earlier.

What was it?”

Besty, initially struggling to replace her words, quickly gathered her thoughts at Stella’s prompting.

“Stella, there’s a favor I need to ask of you.

Stella’s eyebrows arched in curiosity.

“What do you need?”

After a fleeting glance at Felipe, Besty’s hesitation gave way to a slow, deliberate request.

“It’s not a major issue.

My husband recently interviewed at Prosperity Group but wasn’t successful.

I was wondering if you could possibly secure a position for him there?”

Noticing Stella’s slight frown, Besty hurriedly assured her, “Please, don’t worry.

Felipe is a dependable and honest man.

He won’t cause you any trouble.

Stella found herself in a quandary.

She was reluctant to impose on Matthew, yet the thought of disappointing Besty, who had always been a supportive friend during her school days, weighed heavily on her.

After a moment’s consideration, Stella acquiesced, “I’ll inquire about any available positions at Prosperity Group that might suit him.

Besty’s face lit up with gratitude.

“Thank you so much, Stella.

This means a lot.

Felipe, equally elated, raised his glass in tribute.

“To Stella, a heartfelt thank you for your generosity.

Stella offered a slight nod and reciprocated the toast.
