When Love Comes Late -
Chapter 648
“Strategist?”
Slater’s cryptic words left Stella perplexed.
Unable to contain her curiosity, she inquired, “What strategist?”
Slater’s eyes twinkled, his expression more animated.
“Don’t you know who your strategist is?” he asked, trying to imply something.
Stella shook her head.
Slater chuckled lightly, a touch of irony in his tone.
Miley was growing impatient with Slater’s probing.
She interjected, “If you have something to say, get to the point.
We’re here to eat.
”
“Miley,” Stella murmured softly, a tad embarrassed by her friend’s blunt interjection.
But Miley was undeterred.
“I’m simply stating the obvious.
A mature individual should communicate candidly rather than beating around the bush.
”
Stella felt a flush of embarrassment.
“Mr.
Aston, I apologize.
”
“It’s fine.
” Slater shook his head.
He looked at Stella, his eyes veiled with a hint of darkness and then continued, “The strategist I mentioned is Matthew.
Don’t you know his true identity?”
Stella shook her head, asking, “Which identity are you talking about?”
Slater’s eyes sparkled with intrigue as he said, “Matthew is quite the enigma, isn’t he? He’s kept such a significant secret hidden all this time.

Completing his thought, he studied Stella’s perplexed face, a sardonic smile briefly gracing his lips.
“Matthew is more than just the CEO of Prosperity Group.
He’s also a distinguished designer.
I can’t imagine he didn’t have a hand in your most recent design.
”
Stella’s face went through a quick succession of emotions.
Shock, awe, and sudden comprehension.
Everything clicked into place.
This revelation clarified why, several days ago, Matthew had casually enhanced her initial drafts with a few strokes that had seemed trivial but ended up as the perfect finishing touches.
No one without formal design training could’ve done that.
Before Stella could frame her questions, Slater interjected, “Matthew is Tobin.
”
“What?” Stella exclaimed, caught off guard yet again.
