"What do you know? I'm just not comfortable with her living out there by herself, it's just human nature! And you, a guy with a questionable background being so nice to her, I replace you the most suspicious!" Lucian's face twisted in discomfort.

Orion's gaze was cold and distant, "She'd rather go with someone of questionable background like me than return to the Langston family. Don't you think that's something you should ponder?"

After saying that, he headed towards Thaddeus' car and got into the passenger seat.

Lemira was seated in the back. She turned her head to look at Lucian outside, "I can manage on my own."

"Lemmy." Lucian couldn't finish his sentence before he started coughing violently, his hands covered in blood.

Seeing the blood, Lemira pressed her lips together, "You shouldn't have been drinking."

"Lemmy, I really..." Lucian collapsed in front of the car.

Lemira immediately got out, "Lucian, are you alright?"

Hogan rushed over, clearly worried, "Ms. Langston, the boss actually never got treated at the hospital. He insisted on leaving once he knew you were heading to the branch office. No convincing would hold him back. His condition is quite serious." Lemira was visibly annoyed, "Then he should have stayed in the hospital!"

Why did he leave for her? She never asked Lucian to do that.

"The boss is stubborn, I couldn't persuade him. Maybe you could try talking to him once we get to the hospital, Ms. Langston."

Hogan had the driver help Lucian into the car, and then came back looking pitifully at Lemira, "Ms. Langston, let's go to the hospital together."

Lemira stood still, "I'm not a doctor. What's the use of me going?"

Thaddeus saw the blood on the ground and couldn't help saying, "Maybe we should all go check on him?"

That finally got Lemira to nod, "Sorry to trouble you."

"It's no trouble, we're not busy anyway, let's go together."

Thaddeus could tell Lemira was hesitant, after all, Lucian was her brother. If he was really sick, she had to see him.

After getting in the car, Lemira remained silent.

Orion looked back at her, "Don't feel guilty, his illness isn't your fault."

"I know, I'll just visit and leave."

Lemira felt conflicted and annoyed.

Thaddeus glanced in the rearview mirror, "Sweet Lemon, even though he's your brother, don't forgive him too easily. The way they treated you in the past shouldn't just be brushed aside."

"I know, I won't go back."

Deep down, Lemira knew she couldn't forgive them. She wouldn't mix things up. When they arrived at the hospital, Lucian was taken for an examination.

The doctor sighed as he looked at Lemira, "He left without treatment last time, and now he's been last time, a

drinking. It's like he's on a path to self-destruction. It could eventually lead to stomach cancer."

Lemira, looking at the X-rays, remembered Lucian had stomach issues in the past but always managed them well. It shouldn't have gotten this bad.

She left the doctor's office and saw Orion waiting outside. She approached him: "Where's Thaddeus?"

"Went to the restroom. What did the doctor say?"

"The doctor said he needs to undergo treatment and take care of himself properly, or it could turn into stomach cancer."

Lemira felt down. Orion knew she was actually very kind-hearted, or she wouldn't have come to the hospital.

He hesitated, "What do you plan to do?"

"I don't know."

Lemira looked up at the man in front of her, "You got a girlfriend already?"
