The next morning, as soon as Sherilyn woke up, the doorbell rang.

It was Gilbert.

"This early?" Sherilyn opened the door for him.

Gilbert had brought a housekeeper with him. "I had her come over to cook some meals and do the laundry."

Rebecca was blind and relied heavily on Sherilyn for assistance.

But there was no way he was going to have Sherilyn doing chores. She hadn't done such things at the Johnsons', and he definitely wouldn't expect her to serve Rebecca.

Sherilyn didn't refuse; she gratefully accepted, "Thank you."

"Huh?" Gilbert frowned unhappily, "What are you talking about? That's not something you just say."

Then he grinned, wrapping his arms around her waist, "Give me a kiss."

"Uh..." Sherilyn didn't have time to react.

As her breathing grew heavier, Sherilyn nervously struggled, "You...stop..."

"What's there to be afraid of?"

Gilbert thought she was just shy. "The housekeeper's busy, and as for Rebecca, she can't see us."

"But you could at least hold back a little..."

Sherilyn frowned, "The doctor said we need to be extra careful during the first three months."

"Oh."

Gilbert realized, then lowered his head, placing his palm on her stomach, speaking to the child inside.

"All right, you're the most precious right now."

Then he thought for a moment and said, "But a kiss shouldn't be a problem, right? One more kiss..."

"Sherilyn?"

She heard footsteps. Rebecca was waking up.

"Rebecca!" Sherilyn quickly took the opportunity to push him away, "I'm here, don't move around too much, be careful not to fall."

She turned and walked inside.

Gilbert reluctantly smiled; he hadn't had his fill of kisses yet.

After a while, Sherilyn helped Rebecca come out from inside, and to her surprise, Gilbert hadn't left yet.

"Huh?" Sherilyn was curious, "Is there something else?"

"Yes."

Gilbert nodded with a smile, "Rebecca, please take a seat, this involves you too."

"Me?" Rebecca was confused, leaning on Sherilyn's arm as she sat down. "Mr. Johnson, good morning, what's up?"

"Here's the thing."

Gilbert was on a mission today.

"Your eyes, you're planning to continue treatment, right?"

Rebecca was taken aback, her response a bit slow, "I suppose so."

Of course, she didn't want to remain blind forever, but where to go for treatment, who to consult, and whether it could be cured were all questions she hadn't had time to consider since her return.

Sherilyn probably guessed his intention, "Do you know a doctor?"

With the Johnson family's connections, they surely had the right contacts.

"Yes." Gilbert winked at her, "If Rebecca is willing, then I'll make the arrangements."

"This..." Rebecca hesitated, "How could I impose?"

"It's no imposition."

Gilbert looked at Sherilyn with a smile, "You're a friend of Sherilyn's, you've taken good care of her. Introducing a doctor is the least I can do."

"Sherilyn..." Rebecca was at a loss for words, knowing this was all for Sherilyn's sake.

Sherilyn felt a mix of emotions, never expecting Gilbert would do this for her.

Thinking about leaving Sunhaven soon... her heart felt a bit empty.

But she couldn't just ignore Rebecca's situation.

With determination, she smiled at Gilbert, "Thank you, that'd be great if you could arrange it."

"Nonsense."

He stood up, "Oh, and I might not be available, so I'll have my brother come over."

"Ah? Mr. Francis?"

Not just Rebecca, Sherilyn was also surprised, "Your brother?"

"What's with the surprise?"

Gilbert chuckled, "A top-notch doctor isn't easily persuaded, but my brother has the clout. Besides, he's currently free."
