"Mr. Gilbert... wait up!"

Rebecca was in a flurry trying to catch up to Gilbert, but it was no use; she couldn't see him and all she could do was stand there, frustrated.

She couldn't fathom what Sherilyn was thinking. "Sherilyn, with Mr. Gilbert misunderstanding everything, why won't you clear things up?"

She knew Sherilyn had been planning to leave, but the circumstances had shifted. Was Sherilyn still planning on leaving?

It was an ectopic pregnancy this time. Sherilyn and Mr. Gilbert had hit a rough patch, but what about the future? What was her plan?

"Explain?"

Sherilyn gazed emptily towards the vacant doorway of the hospital room, shaking her head slightly, sighing deeply, "I can clarify the ectopic pregnancy, but how do I explain the asset transfer?"

That was the undeniable proof that she had to leave him!

"Should I cajole him, return to his side, continue this charade?"

Sherilyn's tone was filled with bitterness and sarcasm. "Do you think he'd ever trust me again?"

No, he wouldn't.

Even if they got back together, Gilbert would always be on guard around her.

She could picture just how defensive he'd get.

Moreover, after the ectopic pregnancy surgery, her body wasn't suited for pregnancy for a while...

How was she supposed to cope during that time?

"Rebecca, I'm so tired..." Sherilyn leaned against the bed, slowly sitting down, "I don't have the confidence, the mood, or the energy to keep up this fight with him..."

Tears welled up in her eyes as she thought of Jenna.

"Poor Jenna, I want to spend more time with her."

She owed Jenna so much.

After all the tumult with Gilbert, it felt like they were star-crossed, and now Jenna wasn't in the best of health... The second pregnancy turned out to be ectopic...

As for the future, any plans would have to wait until her health was restored.

Maybe she would go back to him, maybe some other opportunity would present itself in the meantime, who knows?

Or perhaps, as a last resort, she might have to choose a path she'd hoped to avoid...

After several days in the hospital, on the fifth day, the doctor had checked her and announced she could be discharged.

"Your recovery is going well. Complete the discharge process and go home to rest."

The doctor handed her the

discharge papers, laden with a

bunch of do's and don'ts: "... In short, watch your diet, rest well, and it's best to abstain from sexual activity for three months. If you want to have children, it's advised to wait at least six months."

Sherilyn looked down, her eyelashes fluttering slightly as she said, "I'll remember that, thank you, doctor." "You're welcome, it's my job."

Since Rebecca couldn't see, Sherilyn finished all the procedures and first took her back to Emerald Estates.

Rebecca was deeply embarrassed, "Just call me a cab, I can ask the servants to come down and help me from there." "Do you think I'm made of paper?"

Sherilyn insisted on escorting her to the apartment entrance, "The doctor said I'm well now. You've been such a help staying with me in the hospital these past few days Go in and rest, I won't come in."

Having been in the hospital for several days, she missed Jenna terribly.

"You go ahead; I'll enter once you've left."

"Alright, take care!"

Around three or four in the afternoon, Jenna was playing in the park.

When Sherilyn arrived, she could hear Jenna's laughter from afar.

"Ha ha..."

At the swing set, her little friend Dawn was perched on a swing, with Jenna puffing her cheeks out, pushing him. "Jenna, keep it up! Push higher!"

"Sure thing!" Jenna's face was flushed with effort as she pushed hard, "You're flying!"

The little guy let go, and upon looking up, saw Sherilyn.

"Mommy!" Overjoyed, she

immediately left her friend and ran

towards Sherilyn, leaping into her

mother's arms, proudly pointing at Dawn. "Mommy, look, I was pushing Dawn on the swing."
