"Achoo!"

Fresh off the plane, Gilbert sneezed, rubbing his nose.

"Mr. Gilbert," Charles quickly offered his overcoat, "be careful not to catch a cold."

"Mhm." Gilbert donned the coat and exited the airport.

The trip to London was supposed to last two weeks, but ten days in, Gilbert was already on his way back to Sunhaven.

It was daytime in Sunhaven.

Charles asked, "Mr. Gilbert, do you want to head to the office, or...?"

Gilbert glanced back at his team, all showing signs of fatigue.

"Wave his hand, "Let's all head home and rest."

"Thanks, Mr. Johnson!"

"Have a good rest, Mr. Johnson!"

Everyone dispersed, and Gilbert also got into his car, heading towards Golden Oak Manor. Leaning back in his seat, he too was exhausted.

The last time he rushed back to Sunhaven was for Sherilyn...

Unexpectedly, it felt like Sherilyn had stabbed him right in the heart!

It hurt... so much...

To ease the pain, upon arriving in London, Gilbert worked tirelessly, day and night... The work ended earlier than planned.

But, he didn't feel any better.

Thinking of her name, Gilbert felt numb from the tip of his heart to his tongue.

...

Golden Oak Manor.

The doorbell rang, and Fidelia was hanging clothes on the balcony.

"I'm coming!" Fidelia rushed to the door, expecting Gilbert. But it was Sylvia. "Mrs. Johnson."

"Mhm."

Sylvia nodded and turned to look behind her.

David followed, carrying items in both hands.

"Come in!" Sylvia walked in, asking Fidelia, "Where's Sherilyn?"

Looking around and not seeing Sherilyn, she chuckled,

still in bed? Sleeping? Pregnat ens.net

sure makes one sleepy. Let her be..."

Then she asked Fidelia, "How's Sherilyn been eating lately? Still just soups? I brought her some homemade soup..."

That's what David was carrying, and he smiled as he took it to the kitchen.

"Ma'am..."

Fidelia, unsure what to do, hesitated.

"This way..." Sylvia stood up, smiling gently, "I'll go upstairs and check on Sherilyn. I'll be quiet, won't wake her."

"Ma'am!"

Fidelia broke into a cold sweat, blocking Sylvia's path, "Ms. Gomez... she's... not here..."

"Not here?" Sylvia was surprised, "How come? Sherilyn has been working afternoons at the TV station, hasn't she?"

"This..." Fidelia shook her head,

honestly saying, "I'm not sure, Moet

Gomez hasn't been to Golden Oak

Manor for several days now

Sylvia's brows furrowed, sensing something was wrong, "What do you mean?"

"I..." Fidelia still shook her head, "I

don't know. I just got a message from Mr. Johnson, telling me I didn't need to live in, and could go back to coming by the hour like before..."

"Is that so?"

Sylvia felt uneasy, sure something was amiss.

She couldn't get much out of Fidelia and turned to leave. "Alright, I got it..."

As she was walking out, she pulled out her phone, intending to call Sherilyn for a chat.

At the gate, Gilbert's car pulled in.

"Just in time!"

Sylvia put away her phone, waiting for the car to stop.

Gilbert got out. "Grandma? What brings you here?"

"Hmph." Sylvia scoffed, "If I hadn't come, I wouldn't have known there was trouble at home!"

Gilbert's brow twitched, guessing, "Grandma, did you go inside?"

"That's right!" Sylvia eyed Gilbert. "Spill it! What happened between you and Sherilyn?"
