Wife by Day Boss by Night ( (Natalie and Brian ) -
Chapter 202
Chapter 202
Stepping out of the hotel, Rosie and Natalie caught sight of a familiar car parked not too far
away.
Rosie glanced at Natalie with a knowing look. “Guess I’ll head to the set first,” she said casually.
Natalie paused for a while, watching Rosie walk away before slowly heading toward Brian’s car. Before she could reach it, another actress from the set burst from the hotel entrance and grabbed Natalie’s arm.
Natalie froze, her footsteps halting abruptly.
“Hey Natalie, isn’t that Mr. Howard’s car? The big shot investor from our company? You know him?” the other actress whispered, looping her arm through Natalie’s.
Natalie’s heart skipped a beat. Did people on set know about her and Brian?
Just the other day, Rosie had mentioned only a few people had seen it when Brian swept her away. Miller had squared things away with them, explaining to others that she had taken a tumble from a wire stunt.
Those actors were known to keep mum and not usually ones to spread rumors, but still… it’s hard to control the rumor mill.
“Yeah, it’s been there for like half an hour now! Waiting just for you, huh?”
“Maybe you could introduce me to him? I’d be happy to just stand beside you…” the actress nudged Natalie, sensing that she must know the owner.
Natalie listened to her excited chatter, feeling her anxiety fade.
“I’m not acquainted with Mr. Howard,” Natalie replied softly.
“How come he’s been waiting here for you, then?” the actress asked, perplexed.
“It’s not for me. You got it wrong,” Natalie waved off the suggestion as if she’d heard the most bizarre thing. “Our hotel is full of young and pretty actresses. Why would it be me?”
“Then…” The actress looked confused, glancing back and forth between the car and Natalie.
Natalie gave her a reassuring smile. “Let’s just go to the set,” she suggested.
As they walked past the car, the window suddenly rolled down, and a child’s upper body popped out, waving frantically at Natalie. “Natalie! Natalie! Over here!”
It was like being hit by a tornado, swift and unexpected.
The actress gripped Natalie’s arm, whispering in astonishment, “He’s calling for you, right?”
Turning around, Natalie locked eyes with Nate. For a moment, she stiffened, then, putting on a

brave face, she said, “Oh wow! What’s my next–door neighbor’s kid doing in that car?”
She explained quietly to the actress beside her, “He’s the kid from next door. Seems like he’s got some family connection to the Howard family.”
Natalie’s voice wasn’t low, and they were only a few steps away from the car. Nate heard every word. He turned to Brian, a puzzled look in his eyes.
He had said he missed his mommy, so Brian brought him there, saying Natalie would probably be available for lunch. Nate came along but couldn’t shake the feeling that Brian was using him to get closer to Natalie.
“You’re making your mom seem old by being such a big kid,” Brian stated, his voice laced with indifference.
Nate pondered for a moment, then nodded, understanding the point.
After all, his mommy was so young and beautiful. Having a kid seemed like it would age her.
So, Nate turned back and called out with a cheeky grin, “Natalie! What a coincidence!”
Natalie felt like she was on an emotional roller coaster, her palms sweating as she struggled to
maintain her smile. She led the actress back to the car.
The actress, of course, didn’t recognize Nate. Though Brian occasionally brought Nate along, very few had met him, and Brian never allowed Nate’s face to appear online.
