Words Unspoken
Prologue

Diversity. Uniqueness. Expressiveness. Language. Social Media. These are all things that the human race has obtained for many years. People of different backgrounds learned about one another, teenagers would spread their creativity through social media, communicate with one another using their own lingo. The world was a different place, 75 years ago.

Former President Adam Lawrence was elected president in the year 2030. New laws were enforced. A new dress code was mandated all over the country. Khaki pants, plain black dress shoes and a white buttoned down shirt. The president believed in promoting equality for all, and what better way than enforcing a dress code.

It took about a year for the entire country to enforce this law. Riots and protests broke out throughout the entire country, the majority of the population included high school and college students, demanding to throw this new law out and overthrow the president. Fights started, fighting against law enforcement. Which led to many arrests. It wasn't until after the riots and protests cooled off, the president enforced another law, speaking only proper English, no slang.

As soon as people started getting used to the idea of wearing the same thing every day, at work, at school or out in public, they now had to get used to the idea of speaking proper English, no cursing, no slang. The current president announced that if any of these laws were to be broken at any point, they'd be sent to prison or worse, sentenced to death.

Each president, for the next 70 years, has continued to enforce the Regulations of Lawrence to promote equality throughout the Nation. Other countries around the world have noticed this and began enforcing the same laws in their own countries. There are rumors that some say that there is a band of rebels against the government to bring back its uniqueness...
