Worship The Ground You Walk On -
Chapter 84 What A Dumb Girl
"Hello, this is the medical station of District 3. How can I help you?"
"Hello? Can you hear me?"
"Hello?"
Without any response from the other side, the woman hung up the phone.
Claudia sighed and looked at Ben. He was badly injured, with bleeding cuts in his arm and abdomen...
What could she do?
Claudia tried her best to press his wounds with a cloth and stop the bleeding and then searched for a medic kit in the room.
But she couldn't replace one!
She ran out of the house, trying to see something helpful outside. But there was nothing useful to her in the dark, desolate wasteland.
How could she do?
She turned around worriedly and looked at Ben who was lying on the ground. His face looked pale due to the bleeding.
If she couldn't replace the way, he would die in here!
Claudia really hated that she was dumb right now. If she could say something, she could save Ben's life easily. But...
After blaming herself for a while, she checked his wounds and found the bleeding was stopped, but he was still in a coma due to the alcohol and hurts.
The cut in his arm was deep, and the wound in his head needed stitches.
Sitting and waiting couldn't save Ben's life. She needed to seek help outside.
Time to move now!
After she made sure Ben was all right temporarily, she walked out of the house hurriedly. It was hard to replace the way in the night, especially in a strange place.
The sky was heavy and cloudy. She could even hear a clap of thunder occasionally.
But she had no time to care about the weather and only focused on replaceing the road that brought them here. Suddenly, a fierce wind was blowing the trees, and the rain was coming down from the sky. Soon, her clothes were drenched.
It made her feel so cold.
The temperature in Paris was much lower than that at home.
Her thin clothes couldn't keep her warm anymore, and the muddy road was much difficult for her to walk so that she had to take off her high heels and step on the ground in bare feet.
The road was shiny with puddles. Sometimes she stepped into it and got scratched by the rocks in it, causing a surge of pain to her.
Walking along the road for a while, her feet were full of wounds and caused pain every time she made a step.
Claudia was tolerating. She didn't dare to stop because she didn't how much time would it take to replace a town.
In the pitch dark night where the gale and the heavy rain was raging, she was walking on the road alone.
She was worried, but not panicked. She only had one idea in her mind: to replace someone and save Ben. She must save him.
Soon, the rain was pouring heavier, and she was still struggling to move on with all her clothes drenched.
Finally, she found it and walked into a town. But it was late at night now, so she couldn't replace any passenger or taxi on the road. It took her a while to replace a pharmacy that opened around the clock. Claudia saw the hope and ran into the store.
She opened the door and the assistant looked at her surprisingly.
He walked out of the counter and stepped close to her, "What's the problem, miss? Are you hurt? Can I do something for you?"
Claudia put her arm on his shoulder and kept gasping.
She was exhausted.
But before she could get enough rest, she started to say in sign language.
"Someone was badly hurt. Please call the police and ambulance for me..."
But the assistant didn't do anything but look at her in puzzlement.
Claudia made the gestures again.
He still couldn't figure it out.
Claudia started to feel anxious and made gestures hurriedly, "Please help me! I really don't have a lot of time!"
The assistant suddenly realized something, "Are you a mute, miss? But I can't read sign language!"
What?!
"Wait a minute, maybe I can search it online..." he walked behind the counter and started to search for a tutorial for sign language.
Claudia was desperate. She didn't have much time to wait for him to learn the language!
"Somebody was hurt!" Claudia tried to express it in the simplest gestures.
He was just staring at her.
"He was in danger. Please call the police. Or..." Claudia saw the medicines in the cases, "Or give me some bandages and rubbing alcohol..."
He was still doing nothing but staring at her, like a stone.
Claudia was helpless.
But it wasn't his fault anyway. After all, sign language was not widely studied.
It was all her fault. If she had been able to speak, things would have been much easier.
But she didn't have time for moping. She made the gestures again and even pointed at the medicine directly.
The assistant knew what she meant, "You want medicine, right? What kind of medicine? For what purpose? Headache? Fever?"
Claudia frowned and shook her head quickly. "For injury. For serious injuries," she made gestures.
But he didn't understand it!
He just brought the medicine to her one after another. He showed her the pills for fever, headache, and cough, and something only available by prescription. But she just shook her head hurriedly.
Desperately, she suddenly came up with an idea. She pointed at the iron gate and herself. And then, she ran towards the gate and hit it hard with her head. What a surprise.
The assistant looked frightenedly at Claudia, whose head was bleeding.
"What are you doing, miss? Why do you hurt yourself?" he was confused and grabbed some bandages and rubbing alcohol to patch her up.
The blood was running down her face, but she smiled when she saw the bandages and alcohol on his hands.
But these weren't enough. She needed some painkillers and antibacterials.
Claudia looked around and saw a fruit knife was put on the table.
She grabbed it and scratched her arm with the knife.
It seemed like she scratched it so hard that her blood was pumping out of her wound.
The blood couldn't even be stopped!
The assistant was stunned!
He grabbed the medicines and patched her up hurriedly, At the same time, he was holding her arm, trying to prevent her from hurting herself.
At least it could give him some time for preparation when she tried to cut herself.
But she just patched her wounds up with bandages only and saved all the medicines for Ben.
Then she walked past the assistant and ran into the storm.
Her behavior really terrified him and made him call the police.
Claudia was staggering in the dark on her way to the house. She held the medicines deep in her arms to protect them from the rain.
Meanwhile, in the distance, a black car was following her all along.
The woman in the car was recording her movement and sighed.
"What a dumb girl, Claudia."000☐☐☐☐
