When Phillip started hitting his leg, Elizabeth looked at him and asked, "Phillip, what's the matter?" Butas he did not reply and merely hit his leg repeatedly, Elizabeth became horrified. "Call the doctor!Now!!"

A group of people quickly moved Phillip to a lounge despite the ceremony being in full swing. Initially,Elizabeth was going to go on the stage, but now she could not care less. Her only hope was for Phillipto be well.

Adeline stood beside Isaac, waiting for the master of ceremonies to call out their names so that theycould go on the stage together. She had never been so nervous in her life before, and she had beenbreathing deeply to keep herself calm. Although today was not the wedding day, as long as she wentthrough the night without any incident, she would be seen as Mrs. Arnold. Isaac would be hers, andshe would be the moon among the stars. She would also be seen as the leader of the Aniston Family.The more she thought about it, the more she needed to calm down given what was at stake. She keptreminding herself not to make a fool of herself on her big day.

Finally, the master of ceremonies announced excitedly, "Let's welcome the bride-to-be and the groom-to-be!"

Isaac walked to the stage by himself, and Adeline hurriedly followed. As she was in a rush, shesprained her ankle and almost fell.

Abigail gave Adeline a helping hand. "Careful." However, Adeline replied coldly, "I know." She thenlifted her skirt, raised her head, and walked proudly to the stage.

The appearance of Isaac and Adeline on the stage attracted screams and applause from everyonepresent. The cameras were aimed at the two as the engagement was broadcasted live given that it wasan important event in Appleby that everyone was looking forward to.

Adeline stood by Isaac's side, and she turned to look at his handsome side profile. Even on such anoccasion, he was not showing any fear, and his strong aura made everyone feel in awe of him. Adelinepursed her lips and thought she had to make someone as powerful as Isaac hers no matter what. Shewanted to make him fall in love with her so that she would be the only one in his heart.

The master of ceremonies was introducing them when Isaac's mobile phone in his pocket rang. Hisexpression was slightly cold. He did not want to answer the call at first, but as he glanced at the screenand saw that it was his lackey whom he had asked to follow Patricia, he did not hesitate to pick up thecall.

"Talk."

"President Arnold, Miss Aniston got into a van, but we did not stop her. I heard from Josephine that theloan shark kidnapped her daughter, which was why she acted that way. She's going to save herdaughter."

Isaac could no longer maintain his cool when he heard that. "Check their whereabouts. I'll be rightthere."

As soon as he hung up the phone, he took the microphone over from the master of ceremonies' hand.

"The engagement is canceled. However, you may stay and enjoy dinner. I wish you all a greatevening!"

He did not waste another second and left. Adeline was stunned for a moment at the sudden turn ofevents, and as she regained her senses, she chased after him. "Isaac, why aren't we gettingengaged?"

She felt embarrassed as all the guests were here watching her drama. Today should have been thebest day of her life. How could she let him go? She would never, so she quickened her pace, trying tohold his hand to stop him from leaving.

However, Isaac, who was in a hurry, was taking huge and quick strides. She could not catch up withhim because her heels were too high. Not to mention, she accidentally sprained her ankle again andcollapsed on the stage.

"Isaac..." She stretched out her hand and called out to him tragically in the direction he left. But Isaacdid not stop or even hesitate when he left the banquet hall. Adeline's tears fell, and she was extremelyembarrassed.

Gwen immediately went up on stage and helped Adeline up. "Addy, are you hurt?" Gwen wasexamining Adeline, but her expression showed that she was not pleased with what happened at all.Regardless, no one came to help Adeline. Only she came to Adeline's aid because she was Adeline'smother, and she loved her daughter.

Adeline threw herself into Gwen's arms. "Mom, what should I do? He doesn't want to get engaged tome anymore." Although she knew that there was no real relationship between her and Isaac and thateverything was just a deal, she was still willing to make it work. Why wouldn't it work for a bit longer?
