You Hit My Heart -
Chapter 1225
Anderson spat out his tongue, "Sooner or later, we all have to facethese things. You all don't mention it, so I have to ask myself. I'm notlike you. You like Uncle Karl so much, get the marriage license soonerrather than later, how reassuring!"
“You, you!" Juanita was speechless! Was this a child!? She feltcompletely defeated.
Karl looked at Juanita's defeated look and couldn't help but look away, trying his best to hold back his laughter.
Joyce knocked Anderson's head, "No big deal. All the people here areyour elders. Grandma is still here, so watch your mouth, okay?""Whoa whoa." Anderson made a gesture to hold his head, "It's longpast the time to discuss right and wrong based on age, whoever isjustified is the biggest!"
Cecelia couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Yes, Anderson is right. Weare all adults but we don't see things as clearly as he does as a child."She is pleased to have a grandson with Anderson's high IQ and EQ.Not long after, Luther picked up his things from the car and returned tothe table.
He was holding three certificates.
He rest them gently on the table.
Those were the two marriage certificates, and a divorce certificate. The divorce certificate came with a crimson cover. He turned it overand handed it to Joyce, saying solemnly, “You and I never got divorced. You did take a divorce certificate back then, but the certificate was notstamped by the court and was invalid.”
He paused, "And I have this one in my hand. I never bothered to get itstamped on it. So, we never got divorced. You were always my wife. You fell off a cliff and into the sea, according to the law, after four yearsof disappearance you will be automatically declared dead, you and I willbe divorced automatically, but yesterday was the last day of the four-year period, Karl has helped me apply for the restoration of youridentity. You are no longer a missing person, and all your former IDnumbers are back in use, so the marriage between you and me is stillvalid."
Joyce was stunned, how could that be?
It's ridiculous that she's still Luther's wife.
She hurriedly grabbed the divorce certificate from Luther's hands andlooked at it twice inside and out, and it really didn't have a steel seal.Unbelieving, she half-heartedly handed Karl the divorce papers in herhand.
He was absolutely a legal expert, and she could of course believe hiswords.
Karl took it, looked at it, and smiled, "Mr. Warner is right, this certificateis invalid.”
"Ah!" Joyce was so shocked that she couldn't keep her mouth shut. How could that be? She'd been away for almost four years and in theend, she was still tied to Luther. It was amazing that they had neverdivorced and had stayed married.
Is she unable to get rid of him? How could this happen?
Luther pushed one of the two marriage licenses in front of Joyce, thecorners of his lips curled up with an intriguing meaning, "Keep it, this isthe marriage license that belongs to you. It's valid."
He deliberately emphasized the word "valid", and his haunting blackeyes always rested on her beautiful cheeks.
Joyce, "..."
Anderson clapped his hands together, "That's great, I have a mommyand I have a daddy. We're all together as a family, and I got to meet mygrandma today! I'm so happy today."
