You Hit My Heart
Chapter 164

"Between you and Luther, I see that you've been getting along quitewell lately." Stephanie suddenly said, "I've watched Luther fall for you,and if you change your mind, I can help you."

Joyce froze and quickly denied it, "No, obviously not. Grandma, don'tthink too much about it. He has Charlotte and is about to give you agrandson. If I can't be your granddaughter-in-law, I can be yourgoddaughter.”

"Huh." Stephanie laughed meaningfully.

She could feel the changes in the way Luther looked at Joyce.Whenever Luther was with her, he would always ask about Joyce. When Joyce was at home, he would always look at her. When Joycewas not at home though, even though he was at home, his heart wasnot. Of course, she saw all of it.

"Joyce, tell me about your past. I'm curious.” Stephanie asked with agentle look.

“I've told you about how I grew up in an orphanage and went to college.I've told you all about the first aid volunteer training." Joyce sat up nextto Stephanie and leaned on her shoulder.

"I like to hear about your past. Do you have any hobbies? Tell me allabout them." Stephanie took Joyce's hand and caressed the back ofJoyce's hand with a relaxed look.

"Hmm." Joyce thought for a moment, “I grew up loving to shoot. When Iwas young, I used to be good at slingshotting those bad kids, andalthough we were all orphans, no one around dared to bully us. Thenafter school, my talents were discovered by the school and I was sentto learn to shoot. I once won the championship in the 50m pistol juniorcompetition, and then gave up shooting for some reasons." She hasnever told anyone about her shooting past, and when she told hergrandmother today, she only told the general story, leaving out theJustin part.

"Pistol shooting?!" Stephanie shuddered slightly. Just suddenly she gota strange feeling, but she didn’t know what could be wrong. This hobbywas really quite special. She could not see that Joyce was even amarksman.

After the two made small talk for a while.

Joyce looked up at the Western clock in the living room and stood up,"Grandma, it's time for me to go to work.”

Oddly enough, she didn't have to work today, but Casey still called herto come over, knowing that these matters could be handled on Monday."Hmm." Stephanie knew in her heart that she was the one who hadasked Casey to arrange for Joyce to come back today.

Joyce looked around and wondered, "Strange, why don't I see Mr.Arnold today?"

“I'll give him two days off." Stephanie said, "It's okay, you go to work.Mr. Arnold had the meal all ready when he left in the morning.”

"Oh, I'll be done working by 5 p.m. I'll buy groceries and come back tomake you dinner. How about we make your favorite snowflake beef?"Joyce smiled sweetly.

"Good, good." Stephanie's smile widened.

“Let's go." Joyce took her coat and got up to leave.

Before going out, she noticed that the parlor was neatly lined with a fullset of tea equipment.

Like, she was going to have guests at home today?

She glanced back at Stephanie, and it was then that she noticed thatStephanie was dressed rather formally today.

For a long time, Stephanie lingered on her death bed, wearing a whitetunic that could be easily changed every day.

Today, however, Stephanie had changed into a loose and comfortabledress, and her hair had been carefully combed. Apparently, Stephaniewas about to meet guests today.

Joyce frowned slightly. Stephanie even gave Mr. Arnold days off. Whocould she want to see? However, it was her grandmother's personalbusiness, so she couldn't ask too many questions. She changed hershoes and left the Warner family.
