Chapter 1667: Desire For Victory

Chapter 1667: Desire for Victory

Luther left Felix's place and returned home. By the time he got back, itwas already 2:00 in the morning. He pushed open the door and walkedin. Joyce was already asleep, curled up in bed. He walked over, took offhis clothes, and held her in his arms, falling asleep with her. Joycewoke up drowsily and asked, "You're back." "Mm." He lightly kissed her."Sorry to disturb you. Go back to sleep.” He turned off the night light, and with her in his arms, she felt especially at ease. Soon he fell asleeptoo. They slept until almost 9:00 in the morning.

When Joyce woke up, she exclaimed, "Oh my god, it's so late. Today isAndres’ kindergarten open house, and I filled out the form beforehandto attend. It starts at ten o'clock. It's almost nine now!" Luther got upwith her and hugged her. “It's okay, we'll make it. I'll go with you." Joycelooked back at him and glared, "Of course you're going. This is a formalopen house, and other parents will be there. We can't let Andres down.”"Okay." Luther picked her up from the bed and carried her into thebathroom. "Yes, ma'am. Hurry up and wash up."

After washing up, Joyce picked out a simple suit to wear. She wasabout to change when Luther stopped her and said, "Don't wear thisone, wear this one." Joyce saw the clothes that Luther brought out andwas stunned. It was casual wear from a military uniform, which wasmuch more casual and relaxed than a formal military uniform, but it stillhad shoulder badges. She often saw her mother Cecelia wearing it.Before coming to Khebury, Cecelia had also prepared a few sets for herand brought them over, but she thought she wouldn't need them."Wear this one? Why?" Joyce couldn't understand.

"Since it's the first time we're going to the open house, we have tomake a good impression for Andres. You wearing a military uniform willmake sure no one bullies him in the future.” Luther handed her theclothes. "Hurry up and change. There's no time to hesitate. We'realmost late.”

Joyce hesitated, feeling a bit embarrassed, but under Luther's urging, she didn't have time to think too much and changed into the casualmilitary uniform. Luther chose a blue suit, looking handsome andunparalleled.

They arrived in the living room, and Mr. Arnold saw Joyce in the militaryuniform for the first time. His eyes lit up, full of admiration. He said, "Mr.Warner, Mrs. Warner, Aaron has already taken the young master toDewey Noble Kindergarten. Please have breakfast."

Luther looked at the time, pulled Joyce to sit down, and said, "Have alittle something to eat. We'll make it." "Mm." Joyce drank a glass ofmilk, ate some croissants, and had a few bites of corn salad. Lutherhad a bowl of porridge.

They left the Warner residence and Luther drove them to Dewey NobleKindergarten. On the way, Joyce asked, "How's Felix doing after lastnight?" Luther shrugged, "Ha, he's troubled by love, and he brought iton himself."

"Why do you sound so schadenfreude? He's your friend after all,”Joyce scolded him.

"Women who want to marry him are lining up. In the past, he's brokenmany girls’ hearts. He's always just playing around and never seriouswith anyone. I never thought he would fall for Vicki in the end. It serveshim right. If you eat too much sweet, you'll want something spicyeventually, but he never expected to get burned himself,” Luther shookhis head helplessly. He had told Felix to be more restrained.

When Felix was determined to pursue Vicki, Luther had advised himnot to provoke her easily. But he didn't listen, so he only had himself toblame. Taming the wildest horse required a painful price.

"Oh. They've been together for four years, right?" Joyce was surprisedat first, but then she thought it made sense. She only learned about itafter returning to Khebury.

"Why haven't they gotten married yet? Is there pressure from theSaunders family?" Joyce asked.

Luther shook his head. "It's Vicki who doesn't want to get married. Felixhas been begging her to marry him for two or three years now, but Vickijust won't agree."

"Oh." Joyce was initially surprised, but after thinking about it, it was inline with Vicki's personality. She couldn't interfere in other people'srelationships. Only the individuals involved knew their own feelings andreasons.

"When should I go see Vicki and ask about her situation?" Joycelooked outthe window. The sunlight was perfect, and the scenery wasflying by.

“Not for now,” Luther suddenly said.

"Why?" Joyce was puzzled.

In fact, Luther didn't want to rush into things. Vicki had a certainconnection with Christian, and this matter was also related to Athena. He wanted to wait a little longer, until he had a better understanding ofthe situation.

“I'll go see her. I'm investigating Iris's case, and I want to ask if sheknows anything,” he made up an excuse.

Joyce thought about it and agreed. After all, Christian had saved herbefore, and Vicki had deliberately deceived him. Perhaps she could replacesome clues from Vicki.

"Okay," she nodded.

Luther put his hand on her leg. "With me here, you can rest assuredand take care of yourself. I don't want you to worry too much.”

Joyce nodded. She had been easily tired lately. This time she waspregnant with twins, and she had to do her best to protect them. Shecouldn't afford any mistakes, so she entrusted everything to Luther. They arrived at Dewey Noble Kindergarten.

The principal greeted them personally at the door to welcome today'svisitors. Several cars were already parked in front of the kindergartenhall, and everyone who got out of the cars was dressed up.

When Luther's car arrived, the security guard immediately opened thedoor. Luther got out of the car first, and then Joyce followed. When sheappeared in her military uniform in front of everyone, there was acollective gasp. Those well-dressed ladies couldn't help but cover theirmouths with their hands.

So cool, so handsome.

They had heard that the son of the Capital's young marshal wascoming to Dewey Noble Kindergarten to study, but they had never seenthe young marshal himself. They didn't expect to see him today.

Just by looking at his clothes, they were all outdone.

How could a red dress compare to a military uniform?

Even if they were dressed up, they couldn't compare to the heroic andsharp appearance of a military uniform.

Not only the women, but the men present were also stunned. The waythey looked at Luther was full of envy.

The principal came forward enthusiastically, bowing and shakinghands. "Mr. Warner, young marshal, welcome, welcome."

The kindergarten's biggest sponsor, Mr. Warner, the first female youngmarshal of Pascaylia, had graced the kindergarten with her presence. Itwas simply radiant.

Luther nodded slightly, and Joyce held his arm and smiled warmly.Looking at all the admiration and envy around them, she nowunderstood why Luther wanted her to wear this outfit. It was not only togive Andres face, but also because he wanted to show off.

This man's vanity and desire for victory...

Unbelievable!
