You Hit My Heart
Chapter 1673: The Unserious Response

Chapter 1673: The Unserious Response

Back at the Warner residence.

It was already 2 a. m.

Luther walked into the bathroom, turned on the faucet, and as the icywater washed over his body from head to toe, his dazed mind becamemuch clearer.

He shook his head, and large droplets of water fell from his cheeks.Suddenly, he punched the smooth, mirror-like tiles, unable to restrainthe suppression and irritability in his heart.

He stood under the shower for a while, adjusting the watertemperature, experiencing the extreme contrast between cold and hot. After showering, he dried his hair and changed into lightweightpajamas. In the room, Joyce was already asleep, curled up with herhair scattered on the pillow, sleeping soundly.

He lay down beside her, reached out to embrace her, turned her over toface him, and held the back of her head with his hand, his long fingersrunning through her hair.

Joyce was awakened by Luther's kiss. She groggily opened her eyes, surrounded by darkness, clearly still in the early hours of the morning."Mm, you're back. What time is it?" she murmured.

Her voice was swallowed by his kiss.

“I don't know, didn't check the time..." he bit her lip, his voice becominghoarser.

Feeling his body was a bit cold, Joyce reached out and hugged hiswaist. "You just took a shower, why are you still so cold? Did thetemperature drop outside? It's so cold.”

Luther had already untied her pajamas, and he chuckled softly, "Holdme tight, let me warm up."

Feeling his increasing impudence, she pushed his hand away, "Stopfooling around and go to sleep. I want to sleep.”

"But I want it," he whispered in her ear, biting her earlobe, his hotbreath spraying on her neck.

"Can't we wait until morning... It's midnight now... Ah..."

Her voice was finally interrupted by a weak moan. The man on herbody was slightly cold, but his movements were extremely passionate."l can't wait..."

He kissed her again, sealing all her protests, and unabashedly drawingwarmth from her, taking everything he desired.

After an intense entanglement, Joyce was already exhausted and fellasleep. She nestled in his arm, her long hair slightly damp, sticking tothe side of her cheek.

Luther raised his hand, smoothed her long hair behind her ear, andheld her tightly.

Only in this way did he have a sense of reality and a feeling of peace.Holding her, he finally closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep. When he woke up again, it was almost noon.

Joyce saw the time displayed on the clock and almost shouted, "Oh mygod! It's almost noon!"

Damn it, she was becoming more and more prone to sleeping in. If thiscontinued, how could she manage things? It was all because of theman beside her, blaming him for keeping her up all night... andexhausting her energy, causing her to sleep until now.

Luther propped himself up and pulled her into his arms again. "What'swrong with noon? Andres must have gone to school. We have Mr.Arnold and Aaron here, so we don't need to worry."

Joyce glared at him, "It's all your fault. You came back late and couldn'tcontrol yourself, not letting others sleep.”

Luther laughed and pinched her nose, “Blame you, always temptingme."

Joyce was speechless. “I was sleeping well, how did I tempt you?Clearly, it's your hormones going haywire! You can't resist stimulation. Ifyou continue like this and come back after eleven, you'll be sleepingdownstairs alone.”

Luther suddenly flipped over and pressed her beneath him.

"My dear wife, it seems like I still have an excess of hormones. Whatshould I do?"

He said it in a very alluring manner.

"Get off."

Joyce had a black line on her face. "I want to get up and havebreakfast. It's almost lunchtime.”

If she didn't refuse this man with a cold face, they would probably endup having dinner directly.

Luther helped her up. "I won't tease you anymore. If I really can'tcontrol myself, I promise to keep you in the room for several days."Joyce blushed. This man's words were so shameless.

She quickly got out of bed, not wanting to pay him any more attention, and fearing that he would lose control. Keeping a safe distance fromdangerous people was the best course of action.

Luther also got up.

As it was close to noon, after having some breakfast, Luther sat in theliving room and looked at his phone, reading the news. It was alreadythis time, so he might as well finish lunch before going to the company.Joyce took a stroll in the living room, rememberingher clothes from lastnight were still in the bathroom. She planned to retrieve them and givethem to Ivy to wash.

As she entered the bathroom, the floor felt slippery. It seemed that themoisture from Luther's shower last night hadn't completely dissipated. She noticed his clothes casually thrown into the laundry basket, so sheapproached and picked them up, intending to wash them together.

In that instant of picking them up, there seemed to be a faint fragranceof perfume emanating from his shirt.

Joyce was taken aback.

A woman's sixth sense was sometimes accurate.

The scent of women's perfume? She never used perfume herself, sowhy would there be the smell of perfume on Luther's shirt?

Although she had never suspected him in this regard, she instinctivelybrought his shirt closer to her nose and carefully sniffed. Indeed, therewas the scent of perfume, she hadn't smelled it wrong. It was strange. She shook her head, could he have accidentally brushed againstsomething somewhere?

Or perhaps, during his social engagement last night, the environmentwas filled with a strong scent of perfume, and his clothes gotcontaminated? This fragrance was very faint. The scent felt familiar andlight.

Such a delicate fragrance, for some reason, cherry blossoms flashedthrough her mind. It seemed to fit.

She picked up the laundry basket, feeling that she was overthinkingthings.

After all, he came back so late last night and was intimate with her untildawn.

How could it be possible? She thought she was being too sensitive, perhaps because she was pregnant, her thoughts had become moredelicate, and she was restless, thinking about all sorts of things.

She walked out of the bathroom and handed the clothes she was aboutto wash to Ivy.

Then she returned to the living room, where Luther was still looking athis phone, reading military news. Recently, she often saw him readingthese things, perhaps wanting a deeper understanding of warlords."Aren't you going to the group?" She looked at his phone. He wasreading news about the military. "You can go in the afternoon. There'sno rush.”

He held her in his arms and continued reading the news.

Joyce gently stroked his chest and asked with concern, "I've beenthinking about it these days. I'm always a little worried. Otis gave yousome mysterious medicine. Is there really nothing wrong with yourbody?"

Luther's body stiffened.

Then, he smiled wickedly and reached out to pinch her chin.

“Is my body normal or not, don't you know? If you're worried, do youwant to try again?"

Joyce was teased by him and lightly hammered him, "I'm asking youseriously, but you always give unserious responses.”

He lowered his head and kissed her lips.

“That's not true. I'm giving you a very serious response..."

The end of his words disappeared in a sweet deep kiss. He held hertightly, covering up his momentary panic.
