You Hit My Heart
Chapter 188

Seeing this, Karl closed his computer, looked up and said, "It seemsthat you don't believe me."

Joyce frowned, and still did not speak. Just now, a police officer camein and asked her why she had killed Stephanie, why she had tamperedwith the will, and how she had done it. She felt that she had beenlabeled as a criminal.

Karl stood up and stepped aside to look through the records of theprevious interrogation. His dark pupils contracted slightly, OfficerLongman had already come to question her privately. How strange wasthat? This was his case, and he had not asked Officer Longman toconduct a preliminary interview with Joyce.

Interesting, looked like someone could not wait to get involved.

This, in turn, aroused his desire to win.

The more something like this happened, the more he wanted to replace outabout the truth.

"Miss, would you like coffee, or milk tea? Lemon and honey water isalso available.” Karl asked slowly.

Joyce froze, not expecting Karl to ask this.

"It's a service that should be provided in the police department, don'toverthink about it. You can ask for it." Karl smiled faintly.

“No, thanks." Joyce coldly rebuffed.

Karl didn't insist and left the interrogation room straight away and wentout to pour a glass of lemon and honey water.

He walked back into the interrogation room and placed it on the table infront of Joyce. The lemon and honey water still steaming, wisps ofrising white smoke standing out in the dark interrogation room.

"Good. So we'll start now, this pistol is yours?" Karl sat back in his seatand opened the computer again, "Joyce, you can choose to trust me.Just now, I have gone out and turned off the surveillance in theinterrogation room. Now, no one can hear our conversation."

“I thought we could talk alone.” He said, word for word.

His black eyes were burning, or shining, with persistence.

Joyce looked into Karl's clear eyes and was struck by his awe-inspiringand righteous look.

“It's my pistol.” Joyce spoke softly, “I have a permit to carry a gun.”“You can shoot? How's your shooting?" Karl was a little curious. Thegun permit itself was not something one could get easily, and therequirements for target shooting werealso very high, but still somepowerful people could get it through special channels.

Joyce faintly glanced at Karl and replied bluntly, "Better than you."

Karl froze, not expecting her to answer that way, with a cocky, extremely confident tone.

“If I had been the killer, if I had tried to escape then, with the four armedpolice officers who rushed into the house.” She paused, lookingdisdainful, "Two seconds, that's enough for me to settle them."

Karl was slightly stunned, and it was clear to him that what she wassaying at this point was the truth.

"Why do you carry a pistol with you?" Karl asked again.

"Perhaps you can still remember Lauren? I've been carrying a pistolwith me since I was drugged and attacked.” Joyce replied.

Karl nodded his head. It did make sense.

“Think back carefully, I just looked at the surveillance outside theWarner residence, which shows that you left the Warner family after10:00 in the morning and returned after 4:00 in the afternoon. Did younotice anything unusual with Stephanie when you left the house in themorning?"

Joyce pursed her lips and recalled, "Grandma is suffering from lungcancer, but with new drugs, her health has improved in recent days, and she was in exceptionally good spirits this morning. Strangelyenough, she was dressed in formal clothes today, and I noticed that thetea set was ready in the tea room, and she seemed to be meetingguests. Also, she has given Mr. Arnold two days off, and seemed towant to see someone alone."
