You Hit My Heart
Chapter 194

In a temporary dentention cell in Detention Center.

Joyce never thought that she would come to such a place in her life.As it was late last night when she was brought to the detention center. She was held in a temporary holding cell with cold stainless steel bars, walls painted with gray latex paint, a simple narrow folding bed, a grayquilt, and a simple bathroom.

Joyce lays down on the bed and looked up at the humble ceiling, withonly a faint glow from a CFL lamp.

Locked in here without a way to make contact with the outside world, she felt isolated from the world.

Today's series of encounters caught her off guard, but the mostheartbreaking thing of all was that Stephanie had left her forever. Shefelt as if her heart had been hollowed out. From now on, there was noone to talk to her kindly and care for her genuinely.

She was thrown back to the old days of loneliness and isolation, afraidto trust others, unable to replace someone to rely on, and unwilling to letothers into her heart. Why didn't she need concern and warmth?Thinking back to the brief moments she had spent with Stephanie, shecould not help but replay them in her mind, and tears slipped down hercheeks again.

Only she knew best in her heart that Stephanie died for no reason. Why did Stephanie leave all of Jacqueline and Shelly's shares to her,an outsider, before she died? She was puzzled.

She slowly closed her eyes.

She had been exhausted today, and she needed to rest. Tomorrowthere were still mroe unknown trials and tribulations waiting for her, sheneeded enough energy to cope.

The next day, Joyce woke up to a blinding light and a cacophony ofnoises.

A female guard came up and slapped the bars, "Joyce, get up!Someone wants to see you! Come on, come on!"

Joyce sat up and briefly washed up. It seemed that someone had comefor trouble early in the morning.

She followed the female prison guard to the parlor. Sure enough, thepeople waiting for her were none other than Jacqueline and Shelly, whohad no interest in thinking

Knowing that the two of them would come to no good.

"Go ahead, what do you want?" Joyce glanced at them disdainfully, andthrough the glass window, she sat herself down. Stephanie diedyesterday, she saw no sadness from these two, but interest in her eyes."Joyce, you're in the detention center, you're in such a situation, andyou're still so arrogant?” Shelly slammed the table and got up, lookingextremely dissatisfied. The account between her and Joyce a few daysago had not yet been settled, and she had not found a chance to venther anger after she was kicked out of the car project team. This timefinally Joyce got into the prison, she could not be even happier!

“I did not kill anyone. The police will replace out the truth, and I don't needto talk to you.” Joyce spoke straightforwardly.

Shelly hated Joyce's attitude so much and got really angry.

Jacqueline nudged Shelly and gestured for her to sit down; it wasimportant to get down to business today.

Jacqueline looked down and took a stack of papers out of her briefcaseand handed them over through the gap under the glass partition desk, her face expressionless and cold, "This is the divorce agreement, yousign it."
