Joyce was about to meet Karl in the evening for dinner. She wanted tolet Karl know that she had seen Charlotte at Skymall in the afternoonand that Charlotte was with her accompanying lieutenant.

Karl happened to be downtown on an errand, and it could be seven oreight in the evening before he could finish his work.

So Joyce went downtown early to wait for him for a while.

She found a cafe with casual meals, ordered a mocha coffee first, andsat down to wait for Karl.

In order not to cause any misunderstanding, she also sent a textmessage to Juanita, telling her that she had a personal matter to talk toKarl about the case.

Soon after, Juanita sent a witty reply.

"Well, I, his future girlfriend, approve!"

Joyce laughed out loud. Juanita was really a good girl! She was alwaysso easy-going and cheerful. She must be such a good match for Karl,but Karl was so insensitive when it came to such a matter. She wasafraid it would take him a long time before he could recognize his ownfeelings.

She swiped her phone for a while and waited until almost eight o'clockbefore Karl arrived in a hurry.

Today he was wearing a beige trench coat and looked quite elegant.Hurrying into the cafe, he pulled out a seat and sat down across fromJoyce.

"Sorry to keep you waiting for me so long, something came up todayunfortunately. I finished it just now."

I saw them both walking out of thejewelry store together, and Charlotte lied and said they had just cometo Skymall,” Joyce recounted.

"His name is Ricky, and he was specifically assigned to Charlotte byGeneral Ralph as a personal guard to keep her safe.”

"Ricky ..." Joyce softly said the name.

“That's right. This person has got quite a background. At first, I couldn'treplace any information about him, after all, he is in the military. The policecould not interfere. Later I learned something about him through myown contacts in the Capital. This person was formerly in the specialforces, and was sent overseas for all kinds of missions. He's quitefamiliar with guns, and anti-terrorism means. He only recently returnedto the country. Because of his outstanding performance, he waspromoted from a soldier to an ordinary lieutenant. Now he has beenselected as Charlotte's personal guard, and in a short time, he hadbeen promoted to captain. Some sources tell me that soon, he will bepromoted to Major. That's quite fast."
