You Hit My Heart
Chapter 509

Karl was keenly aware of Joyce's intentions. They hadn't seenCharlotte when they came in earlier, and Charlotte had suddenlyreturned, so he was able to try her a bit.

"There's really nothing suspicious about the scene.” Karl said, "It lookslike Mr. Heath was going up the stairs, and he fell backward down thestairs."

"Upstairs?" Cecelia asked in surprise, “I thought Dad fell down becausehe was in a hurry to answer the phone and was in a hurry to getdownstairs."

"No way. If that's the case, his back of the head would never be likethat. I'm pretty sure he definitely fell backward.” Karl used the word“definitely”. He rarely uses such absolute words.

Charlotte's eyelids were “popping” at this point. Damn it, she hadn'tthought of that! Indeed, Rodney was bending over to pick up thetoothbrush with his back to the stairs, when he was pushed down thestairs by her sneak attack.

Cecelia frowned lightly, “Falling backward? But when I came back, Isaw Dad lying here with his crutches still in the middie of the stairs.Surprisingly, Dad would fall down on his back if he was on crutchesgoing up the stairs?"

"Yes, so it's a bit weird." Karl mentioned lightly, "I was told that no onewas at home at that time, otherwise I would have thought Mr. Heathhad been pushed down the stairs."

After saying that, his gaze fell fixedly on Charlotte.

The sharp words came out.

Charlotte's breath got caught in her throat and her pupils contracted. She tried her best to conceal her mood swings, and she knew that shecould not show anything in front of Karl.

At that moment Karl was looking at her, and she had to feigncomposure and pretended to be surprised, "No way?"

Cecelia also froze, "What?"

Karl waved his hand, "Sorry to startle you all. It's my occupationalhazard. I was just hypothesizing about what would happen if someonewas home. Since Mr. Heath was the only one at home, he must havefallen down the stairs accidentally.”

"Oh." Cecelia understood, and she didn't think much of it. It was truethat no one was home at the time of the incident, and the officers Ralphhad brought in had checked the surveillance.

Even if there was someone, they were all family, and who would layhands on an old man? She had always done everything herself, andthe maids at home would only clean the rooms when she was there. They were after all a family of warlords, and for security andconfidentiality reasons, she never left her maids alone at home.Charlotte took a deep breath. Just now she almost forgot to breathebecause she was nervous, and nearly choked when she inhaled the airviolently.

She coughed a few times, and to hide her abnormality, she deliberatelysaid, "Karl really scared me just now."

"Sorry. Couldn't be of much help. I was told that the Heath family didnot want to make this public. So, it's not convenient to involve thepolice." Karl confirmed.

"Yes, that is what the General is considering at the moment. Our familyis in a unique situation and I hope Karl will understand.” Ceceliaexpressed her apologies.

"Hmm. Sure." Karl took a business card from his briefcase and handedit to Cecelia, "Here's my card. If Ms. Hurley changes your mind orwants a professional forensic team to carefully investigate the scene, feel free to contact me."

"Good."
