You Hit My Heart
Chapter 95

On Saturday Joyce stayed at home and spent the day with Stephanie. She could see that Stephanie's condition was getting worse and worse. She had lost more than ten pounds again. There was chest fluid in herlungs and she kept coughing all day long.

Jamie came every morning to give Stephanie nutritional fluids and thepain Killer.

Joyce also learned from Jamie how to give injections.

Because Stephanie now needed pain relief on a regular basis and shewould have to be very careful with the injection.

She learned that she could help more or less. In the evenings, it wasshe who gave Grandma her shots.

Every time when she looked at Stephanie's increasingly pale face,Joyce also understood that her grandmother would not have much timewith her now.

The bond that had been built over these days made them almost a realfamily, and she could understand why Luther cared so much aboutStephanie.

Luther also tried to put her work on hold so that she could spend moretime with his grandmother.

Late afternoon on Sunday.

Luther came back from outside.

By this time Stephanie had fallen asleep, a sleep that usually lasts wellinto the night, and now her waking hours had also dwindled.

Joyce reclined on the living room couch, covered with a wool blanket. She was taking a nap.

Hearing the movement of Luther's return, she woke up, opened hereyes, glanced at him, and closed them again.

"Grandma's asleep, and you can see her later.” She closed her eyesand said in a low voice.

"Get up, I've brought you something." Luther stepped forward and liftedthe wool blanket covering Joyce's body upright.

"Hey, what are you doing.” Joyce disgruntled and scratched her hair, apparently annoyed, "Where's your manner? How do you know if I'mfully clothed and you just lift the blanket like that.”

"Does it matter? Which part of you have I not seen? Take it, it's foryou." Luther's thin lips slightly hooked, smiling wickedly, and he threw ablack wooden box to Joyce.

“You! You just have to talk about that all day?" She was exasperated, but there was nothing she could do about him.

Looking at her hand, the black wooden box he tossed over, she asked,"What is this?"

"A gift for you, wouldn't you know it if you opened it?" Luther sat downon the other sofa and looked at her patiently. He had gone out on aspecial trip today just for this item.

Joyce carefully examined that ordinary black wooden box and couldreplace nothing special.

A gift from him to her? Although he had bought her clothes and the lasttime she attended the Shining Star Awards ceremony, he also pickedthe clothes for her. He also gave her a new phone yesterday. However, it was the first time that she was formally given a gift in thename of a gift.

Why did he send her a gift for no reason at all?

Joyce suspiciously pressed the spring-loaded brass clasp on the blackwooden box.

The moment the wooden box was opened.

She almost squealed. She was never like that before, but it was soexciting for her.

Inside the black wooden box, a cool pink lady's compact pistol layquietly.

"Wow, Mufroneaa Arms, “Witness Paffner’ pistol, 380acp rounds, 13round magazine, extra-large capacity.” Joyce took out the pistol androtated it nimbly in her hands a few times, unable to control herexcitement, "Wow, modified personally by Master Wilson, for faster andmore accurate shooting, limited collector's edition.”
