Chapter 31 

The poison wasn’t put there by Elysia , nor was it Elysia who made Fenwick drink it .

He had grabbed the cup of milk himself , but now he was shining the blame onto her , even jumping to conclusions in front of Torin and 

It was his fath , and he owned up to it .

He thought , ‘ But Howena maybe she was just joking .

Maybe the powder wasn’t poison at all .

And Elysia only took the milk from her out of concern for Rupert .

She didn’t fully understand the situation .

This was all just one big misunderstanding ! ” 

But there was one thing Fenwick couldn’t make sense of “ Why did Rowena say those things afterward ? Did did Elysia arqually say something to her ? Or did the broadcan simply miss in t 

Fenwick pressed his hands to his head , refusing to face the truth .

He couldn’t comprehend the situation .

His thoughts were a jumbled mess .

“ I can’t see her ! She’s my sister ! Why can’t I see her ! Stellan , give my sister back now ! Or Ell charge you with illegal detention !” Torin’s shout pierced through Fenwick’s foggy thoughts .

The urgency in Torin’s voice snapped Fenwick out of his confusion .

He looked at Torin – so desperate to see Elysia .

Torin’s face was right with worry , his fists clenched as he demanded answers .

After a moment of hesitation , Fenwick finally spoke up .

“ Torin , don’t forget Elysia isn’t the same person she was ten years ago .

“ Elysia has crossed the lane into criminal behavior .

She almost killed Rowena ! ” 

Fenwick’s voice was cold , laced with anger and disappointment .

But in his rush to condemn her , he forgot who had caused all of this in the first place .

He even tried to use this absurd outcome to change Torin’s mind .

Torin stood frozen , his eyes clouded with uncertainty .

He didn’t speak , his silence stretching on as he processed Fenwick’s words .

For what felt like an elemity , he didn’t move .

To Fenwick , it seemed as though Torin was slowly crumbling under the weight of grief .

She smirked , her eyes glinting with malice .

Althea’s voice dropped to a dark whisper .
