The ceremony was far from over. There are still seven Gryphons and eighteen participants to show their skills.

One by one, the competitors showed some amazing moves, abilities and skills. Resulting in six of the seven Gryphons to choose their new masters. A few other people tried to grasp the attention of the last stubborn Gryphon to turn her face to them, but failing each time.

Now, there was only one participant left. Amelia.

With her of being barely eight years of age, what was she going to do, to turn the diva’s head to her?

Her father William, gave her one last kiss, before letting go of his daughter. She proudly walked to the centre of the training ground and took a few deep breaths.

With her angelic soft voice, she started to sing a song. The words so beautifully chosen, by such a young girl. The notes flowing in the air, easing everything around her, silencing everyone on the training fields. If it weren’t for her singing, you could hear a pin drop.

“The sun will shine, upon your fur, to reflect the love I know you have.

And even though your mind is strong, I hope you will be a friend of mine.”

I watched as the red-headed creature was releasing some tension from her muscles, yet still not moving her head up, to pay attention to the little girl.

“I will take care of you, my furry friend, until I no longer am capable of that.

But rest assure, that no matter what, I will always love, to be yours too.”

Everyone was listening to her, and her beautiful voice. Incapacitating us with that light tremble, which could make us all lost in our minds. As I looked around, I could see that some of the people were having their eyes closed, completely focused on her.

Cirilya was looking strange. Her brows pulled together, her fingertips playing with some white energy, tilting her head slightly in confusion to what was happening in front of her. I tried reading her mind, but she was really confused, she couldn’t explain to herself what she was feeling.

I looked again at Amelia, and she was still singing her own song.

“If not now, then later maybe, we will come to replace each other soon.

Because just as the bees love the flowers, or just as the bears love their honey,

I will forever love you, if you choose to see, that you belong to me.”

Cirilya now looked at the red diva, which still laid upon her nest. I followed her gaze and was surprised to see that the fierce creature had awoken, and had her head turned up, looking at Amelia.

Again, Cirilya turned back her sight towards Amelia only to be confused even more. As when she looked towards the ground beneath Amelia’s feet, she slightly gasped and I got stunned from what was going on there as well.

What I saw, made me just as confused as Cirilya! What the hell?

Amelia was ending her cute song, and when she was done, her breathing became hitched, and her eyes slightly changed colour. She took a few steps to the sides and rolled her eyes a bit. And then her face became pale and before I knew it, she had passed out.

With loud shrieks, the red diva ran up to Amelia, nudging her beak towards her almost lifeless body. Quickly I stood up, and ran towards them. But I wasn’t the only one, as William and Cirilya came rushing in as well.

“William, take her with you to her room. Cirilya go with her, you have to be there when she wakes up!” I yelled to them.

William was completely confused and wanted to say something, but I brushed him off, telling him to leave now.

The red diva was fighting me, to try to reach Amelia. She is clearly attached to her already, and not only because of her song I assume. We would have to replace out later, if what I saw, was really what I had in mind.

I got sliced up my upper arm, from one of the red Gryphon’s talons, so I was forced to do something about it. I screamed loudly and used my hunter’s powers to suppress her animalistic behaviour.

In a second, where she got distracted by my power, Brock and several other warriors, grabbed the fully grown Gryphon by her wings and forced her to go down towards the ground. By now, Axel had run to the place where some spare reins were, and came rushing in back, to bind her beak and claws together.

“Subdue her!” Axel yelled to me.

And I was trying really hard, my blue burning eyes, giving all that they could. But she just wouldn’t listen to me, even though I tried to replace a spot in her mind, where she could be calm.

“I can’t! Her grieve for thinking that Amelia is dead, is turning her fully into killing mode!” I yelled.

“You’re the Chosen one! Get through to her, or we are forced to kill her here on the spot, Emily! She can’t be let loose in this state!” Axel said, while red feathers were flying around us.

Yes, he is right, I know I can do this, I just have to push harder! Maybe some powers combined could do the trick.

As she was stuck to the ground, with several men, holding her there, I tried to look in her eyes. With my hands on her head, I tried to break through her angry state of mind.

“Calm down, beauty. She is alright, Amelia is only asleep. And when she wakes up, I’ll take her to you.” I tried to say to her in her mind, with the mage’s mind link. And also I was trying to push in some images of people being asleep and waking up.

Her breathing was still not normal, as I could hear the air leaving her nostrils at a vast speed. She was scratching the ground with her claws and talons, trying to break herself free from the reins.

“Stop fighting me! She is alive!” I tried again, using even more energy and force into it.

I could feel a strange sensation in my eyes, as I was using my hunter and mage at the same time, to compel her animal mind, to give in to my demands. It took her a while, but at last, she started to breath steadily and calmed her muscles.

The men on top of her, could feel her release, and when I nodded to them, they got off of her and let her go. Axel loosened the ties around her, and she could stand up again. After a few ruffles with her feathers she seemed calmed down.

“If you promise to not hurt anyone, I’ll take you to her. Would you like that?” I asked her.

She nodded and bowed her head slightly.

Upon walking through the castle’s halls, with a feathery animal behind me, we got a few strange looking eyes thrown towards us. But knowing how I deal with these kinds of things daily, and them not wanting to argue with their Queen, everyone kept silent.

When we reached Amelia’s room, the Gryphon nearly pushed me aside, to walk up towards Amelia immediately.

William stood up, ready to defend his daughter, but I raised my hand in order for him to stop.

The red diva, lowered her body, and laid her beak and head on the sleeping little girl. She was listening to her heartbeat, and felt her chest moving up and down, at which the creature finally relaxed and closed her eyes.

I turned my face towards Cirilya and asked her a few questions with the mage’s mind link, to confirm my thoughts about Amelia.

William was noticing our silent conversation, and finally dared to ask, what was wrong with his daughter.

“There is nothing wrong William. Her brain just chose to shut down, because she was overwhelmed by an ancient power.” I said to him.

He looked even more confused to us now.
