Zenora, The Dragon's Fury
54. Awkward Conversation

“Shh! I told you to wait.” He said and I shut my mouth.

“You have been talking to me about Zenora’s wildlife, and that it is out of balance right now. Well, as we aren’t really picky about our meals, and thus eat different species of animals, we tried to maintain to keep up the normal population.

But ever since we are hunted, there aren’t many of us to see to that. In a way, Humans have ruined the natural balance, and if it weren’t for Victoria, there could have been a chance for Dragons to flourish and roam the planet in plenty of numbers once more.

Unfortunately, ever since she has killed the last living female Dragon, my sister, that hope was gone… until the birth of your daughter…”

Brock’s point of view:

Emily was sitting in front of Ayinthur, on the field behind the former shelter. I saw her raising her brows every now and then, but I couldn’t hear what they were saying. They sat there for what felt like an hour until she stood up and started to yell to him.

“HELL NO! SHE IS JUST A BABY!” Emily yelled.

Okay, that was clear enough to hear. She is fuming with anger right now. I told Cirilya to stay put, while I approached them a bit closer.

Her eyes turned purple and just like that moment, when we stood in the cave, almost five years ago, she was transforming into her Dragon part. Quickly I ran backwards, while still looking at her, noticing how black scales formed along her face, and how claws erupted from her hands.

I took Cirilya and my daughter, along the stairs to the stone terrace, so we could see all of it from higher ground, and if needed, we could seek refuge inside the castle, when going through the door.

Iris was crying, she needed her mother, but she was taking care of Ayinthur now. As whatever he had said about our daughter, was making her angry beyond compare. And if she had become angry because of what he said, it must have been really bad, so she can do with him, whatever was necessary.

Emily’s point of view:

“I trusted you! But all you ever wanted, is to impregnate my daughter, to get new Dragons!”

I roared fiercely, shooting fireballs towards Ayinthur, and using magic against him, trying to knock him out.

“It’s nothing like that! I would never do anything against her will!”

I didn’t believe him. He just wanted to take my daughter away and keep her locked up, to create loads of baby dragons to get his population up and running again. I know he means it well, as it is important for all the animals on Zenora, but she has just been born! And all he thinks about is sex!

“You will never get to her! I will kill you before you touch her!” I yelled again.

He on his turn shot fireballs at me, but I just stood my ground and knocked it out of my way with my arms. I was furious right now! I had seen the scales on my body, so a bit of heat couldn’t harm me, and the claws that reached out of my hands, were ready to slice Ayinthur’s throat.

I was so done with his behaviour, always staying with her, growling whenever someone else touched the egg, and now this? He is going to barely live through this, when I am finished with him!

“We can only impregnate the promised one! The Goddess has matched up…” Ayinthur said, until I interrupted him with another fireball in his face.

“The Goddess has matched up every dragon with another…”

Another? Another fireball you mean. Swoosh.

“The couples are meant to be together forever! Like soul…”

Ssssstrike! I threw one again, that is three in a row.

“WILL YOU LET ME FINISH?” He yelled to me.

“Iris is my promised one, she is the one that will love only me! And I will only ever love her! I ALREADY DO!”

I stood there, astound to what I just heard. As I was bouncing a fireball in my right hand, I was contemplating whether or not I should keep fighting him.

Our emotions were constantly going up and down. So much so, that I'm about to have a mental whiplash because of it.

If they are truly meant to be together, then who am I to judge the decision of the Goddess? But then again, Iris has just hatched, she is a baby, and I can’t give her to him just like that. And what if he stayed here, watch her grow up and build up a relationship with him? It would be strange, as she would think of him as a friend, and not as a lover.

“At what age, do Dragons normally carry babies? I mean, when is it seemed normal?” I asked him.

“Well, we mature at the age of four but…”

Ding ding ding! Wrong answer! Gone is my bouncing ball.

“But, as I was trying to say, before you hit me again, she is half Human, so you tell me, what is a reasonable age?” He said while cleaning his nose, by rubbing it on the inside of his wing.

“Thirty-six.” I said, and Ayinthur’s eyes grew wide.

“What? Ask any woman on Earth, when she wants her precious daughter to be unflowered, and she would say the exact same thing! She is my baby, and right now I’m talking to a freaking Dragon about when she is ready to have sex! WITH A DRAGON!” I replied to his astonishment.

And how would that even work anyway? Ayinthur is the size of a big house! How will she have sex with him? And Goddess, she has to lay down such eggs, the same as her own as well! This is going to take some preparation.

Ayinthur frowned, he knows I’m twenty-six, and I have three children now. So, I can’t really argue about the age.

“How about eighteen? Can you replace a way to make yourself scarce for that amount of time?” I ask him.

“What do you mean? You want me gone? For like eighteen years? How do you suppose I do that? I could hardly stay away from you, and you’re not even my promised one!”

“I don’t care how you do that! Just go and jerk yourself off until she is eighteen!” I yelled to him.

He roared massively, but he knew he can’t defeat me. I’m just as strong as him, and if he would stay here, I would hurt him like hell. I am torn between decisions. I don’t want to miss him for eighteen years, he is my friend, and I love him to pieces.

Somewhere I can understand that the Goddess has made him my daughter’s promised one. I wouldn’t want any other Dragon to be her partner in life. He is strong, honest and kind to Humans, even though he was tortured by one.

And while listening to his story about his family, I really felt awful for him, but I can’t let him be with her, all this time. Shit! All of this is just messing with my mind! I walked in circles while having my claws stuck in my hair. Well I wanted to scrunch my hair up, but my horns were in the way.

“For Goddess sake!” I yelled.

“I can’t stay away from Brock long either, so I know what you are feeling. But can you understand that I can’t have you here all this time either? She would get mixed feelings about you.” I tried reasoning with him.

He told me he understood the situation, although he didn’t like it at all. This was the most awkward conversation I ever had in my life, but still it had to be done.

“So, what do you suggest?” He asked me.

“What if you stayed close, and only came here once a year? For just a day or two. She would get to know you, but not create such a tight bond for her to get confused.”

“A week, three times a year.” Ayinthur said.

Fuck! Now I’m negotiating with him about how many times he gets to see my precious girl!

“Three days, twice a year.” I said.

“Five days.”

“Four. Final offer.”

“FINE!” He said, and flew off to where ever his wings may drag him.
