“That’s not fair, Kaden! You are cheating with your magic!” I said after he pinned me down on the ground.

“All is fair in war, little sister! Adjust to what you see.” Tyler replied, while standing on the side of the training field.

Argh! My brothers are a pain in the butt! I know they train me to reach my full potential but this is nuts! I have bruises all over my body and I am exhausted!

“Now you are exaggerating. You only have bruises on your Human skin, not your scales, and besides that, your breathing is still normal. So, you are not… Goddess! Shit!” Kaden yelled.

“All is fair in war, big brother!” I said and Tyler chuckled.

I had distracted Kaden with my whining, and now I had pushed him off of me and shot a fireball his way. He was able to shield himself the last split second, before the fire reached his face.

Ayinthur came flying in and saw that I had bruises on my belly and arms, as I was only wearing a sports bra, which I got from my Mother, and some cotton pants. His nostrils flared and he puffed some smoke, but didn’t say a word.

“I’ll heal soon, don’t worry Ayinthur.” I said to him.

“Iris? Ah there you are. Are you coming?” Max said, and he gave me a kiss on the mouth.

He hadn’t noticed that Ayinthur was standing on the side of the training field, as he was carelessly kissing me. I saw Ayinthur take in some breaths, as he was filling his lungs to erupt a scorching fire after.

I had pushed Max away, and my brothers got away on their own. I used all my energy, to embrace the scorching hot breath on the back of my body. My scales will protect me from the heat, so I wasn’t afraid. But the wide spread of fire, almost hit Max as well. And Max, isn’t fireproof!

When Ayinthur was done, I was infuriated!

“How could you do that? You could have killed Max!” I screamed at Ayinthur.

“I don’t care, he is not allowed to touch you!” He said.

“What is wrong with you? You are acting strange all day, asking me about my love-life, calling me beautiful and now this? You don’t get to say who can touch me or not! Get out of my face!” I yelled to him.

“I’m not leaving, if that’s what you think!”

“The hell you are! I don’t want to see you anymore! Get lost!” I cried out.

And Ayinthur flew off, to who knows where.

Emily’s point of view:

Shit! I knew this would happen someday. I was looking at her, from above, from our room. As I just had taken a shower and noticed that she was training, I looked at how cunning she was against her brother Kaden. But as that silly boy Max, came walking in to them, I saw how Ayinthur reacted.

I had warned Ayinthur before, to not show any affection, until she was ready for it. But now that she had Max, things got complicated, and Iris didn’t understand Ayinthur’s emotions at all.

“Kaden, teleport her to me please.” I asked my son and he did as I asked. He had seen me standing here by the window, so he knew where to take her.

“Mom!” She cried, as she came running towards me.

I hugged her tightly and nodded for Kaden to get outside again.

“Shush my darling, you know how men can get, and you know how protective Ayinthur is of you.”

“Yes, I do. But he didn’t have to burn Max for it! Max is just a hunter, not a fireproof Dragon!”

“I know honey, but things are just the way they are.” I said to her.

“Mom, you always talk in riddles! What is that supposed to mean?”

I had learned over the years, to accept things better. Well at least I think I can. I hardly get angry anymore, and constantly think in solutions, instead of in problems. It helped me a lot, to calm myself, if something bad had happened.

Problem was now, that my daughter was crying over the reaction of Ayinthur. Her best buddy, the one that understood her the best, betrayed her trust by almost killing her boyfriend. I know why he did almost burn Max to ashes, but still it shouldn’t happen like this, I have to fix what is going on now. But how?

“He, he said th-that no one else can touch me! Who is he to say that to me?” She cried out.

Well, he is your promised one. I thought in my head. I wanted to tell her everything, but I didn’t. She has to replace out herself.

“What do you feel for Ayinthur?” I asked her.

“At the moment? Nothing, he can disappear from the face of the planet, for all I care!” She yelled.

“Yes, that is because you are angry. But how did you feel about him, when he showed you the crystal cave?”

“I thought that he was wonderful, he even… no never mind.”

I read her mind, and knew exactly what happened there. I looked her in the eyes and silently asked to continue her story. She scoffed, realising that I know what he said.

“He said, ‘So beautiful’ while looking at me, but after that, he said that he meant the cave. So, now I’m not sure what he really meant.”

I nodded, but then asked how Ayinthur reacts when she talks to him about Max.

“He scolds me and was happy that I didn’t have sex with him yet.” She answered, and slowly realisation started to sink in.

“No… He can’t be! He is my friend, he shouldn’t be jealous! Right, Mom?” She asked me, with a lot of confusion.

“I’m not sure honey, that is something that you need to replace out yourself.”

“But how? How am I going to do that, he flew off, blocked his mind, and I don’t know when he will be back!” Iris screamed.

Iris cried for half an hour in my arms, and I just let her. We laid on my bed, waiting until she was done crying. She is so much like myself, I see her mind twisting and contorting, trying to understand what everything meant. The worst one was, why Ayinthur was acting the way he did, but she couldn’t figure it out. And her feelings for Max, were confusing her as well. She somewhat loved him, but she would never fully feel herself completely comfortable with him.

I know he is a kind soul, really having the patience to wait for her. But he is too soft for her, I don’t think that she will ever want to have sex with him. She is not completely committing herself to open up with him, and that is required to give into something so intimate.

Ayinthur can’t see past his own anger, all he sees is Max touching her, kissing her. But he can’t see beyond that, he can’t think reasonable, and notice that she would never go any further with Max.

They are both stubborn, Iris won’t see that she loves Ayinthur, and he on his turn, won’t see that his love for her, is not unanswered. All they have to do, is speak up to each other, and the rest will follow.

I wanted to tell Ayinthur that he no longer had to wait, for Iris to turn eighteen, that he was free to court her. But as the stubborn lizard he is, he indeed blocked his mind, so he won’t be able to listen to what I wanted to say.

So, all we can do right now, is wait.
