Chapter 47

At that moment, someone approached. "Hi, Miss Kensington."

Elara glanced over and recognized it was Chloe Wright, her father's secretary. She felt a wave of relief wash over her. "Hi, Chloe."

Chloe replied, "Mr. Kensington asked me to come and get you."

Elara nodded and turned to Lysander. "Then I'll be on my way. See you later."

Lysander watched her figure as she followed her family to the car before getting in himself and leaving.

The Kensington family had a villa in Starfield City, but Elara hadn't been there much since she had been living in Brookfield.

Chloe sat in the passenger seat. "Mr. Kensington has been busy with meetings lately. He won't be back for a few days, so he asked me to come take care of you."

Elara replied, "Thank you for coming to pick me up."

"It's my pleasure," Chloe said. She had worked alongside Barrett for some time now.

Some time ago, because Chloe had gone back to give birth, she had asked Monica to replace her. Chloe had recently returned to work and taken on the task of looking after Elara.

Once they arrived at the villa, Elara took a shower and freshened up. The house staff had prepared dinner and brought it to

her.

While eating, she called Ursa. Ursa asked, "Mr. Blackwood hasn't had dinner. Should I prepare something for him?"

"Why bother?" Elara replied. "If he doesn't want to eat, then fine. No one's going to pamper him."

'He's the one causing trouble, and now he's blaming me?' Elara thought.

Ursa continued, "Mr. Hawthorne took quite a hit. He's injured pretty badly. But the doctor said it's nothing serious. He just needs a few days to recover."

"As long as he doesn't die, it's fine," Elara said while eating.

Hearing her nonchalant tone, Ursa couldn't help but think, 'It seems Elara really doesn't care about Asher anymore!

After finishing her call with Ursa, Elara hung up. She glanced at her phone and sent Lysander an Instagram message: [Have you arrived?]

'He should be there by now. What is he doing?' Elara thought, feeling a bit anxious. 'He's not still mad, is he?' Asher's words had indeed been a bit excessive, but Elara thought Lysander shouldn't be sulking for so long over it. Lysander, of course, didn't reply. He seemed to dislike using Instagram.

Elara sent him a text message, but there was still no response.

'He just got home. He must be busy,' Elara thought and soon fell asleep.

Before arriving, she had asked her assistant to schedule some property viewings. Since she was in Starfield City, she wanted

to buy a couple of apartments for herself.

Lately, she had developed a penchant for shopping. After signing the contracts for the two properties, Elara checked the time and realized she hadn't contacted Lysander in two days. It felt as if Lysander had completely ignored her. Before her time travel, Elara had shown little interest in Lysander's life in Starfield City. Other than knowing that he had cared about her when she was close to death, she didn't know much about Lysander.

Now, in this unfamiliar place, Elara suddenly realized that she didn't even know where to go if she wanted to see Lysander.

Chloe called to say her uncle wanted to see her, so Elara decided to go.

Elara's mother was from Starfield City, and her uncle had always lived there. However, she remembered that her uncle didn't have much contact with the Kensington family.

They had only seen each other a few times during Christmas, and after that, they had hardly kept in touch. Now that Elara was in Starfield City, with her uncle wanting to reconnect, she felt it was only polite to meet him. Arriving at the entrance of the mansion, the driver opened the door, and Elara stepped out of the car. As soon as she walked into the estate, she spotted Lysander.

He was flanked by two men in black, and he hadn't noticed her yet. Elara didn't expect to run into him here, and without hesitation, she chased after him. "Hi, Lysander."

Lysander turned around, and a hint of softness flickered in his usually cold eyes. He instructed the two men beside him to leave, and they stepped away. Elara approached him, saying, "What a coincidence to see you here."

Lysander gazed at her silently, his demeanor exuding an air of distance. Noticing his aloofness, Elara asked, "Are you busy? If so, I won't disturb you."

She admitted she was somewhat concerned about him, but his indifference sapped her courage. She didn't want to play the simp for another guy after Asher. just as she turned to leave, Lysander grabbed her hand. Elara looked back at him. "Aren't you angry?"

"Have you eaten?" Lysander didn't directly answer her question.

Elara replied, "No, I've been busy all day. I have a dinner with my uncle here. Would you like to join, or do you have something else to do?" "I'm not busy," Lysander said.

"Then will you come with me to eat?" Elara asked, meeting his gaze.

Seeing her wanting him to stay, Lysander decided to let go of his grievances. Lysander agreed, and Elara led him to the

restaurant.

Elara's uncle hadn't arrived yet, but he had made a reservation. Someone came to escort Elara inside. They settled into a private room.

Elara sat next to Lysander, giving her the chance to address what happened that day. "Are you planning to ignore me?" Lysander looked at her, his deep eyes reflecting her image. "I'm a bit unhappy." "Why?" Elara was surprised to hear him express his unhappiness for the first time.

Lysander averted his gaze, his tone laced with melancholy. "I feel like you don't like me."

Hearing him say that, Elara felt her heart soften immediately. She gazed at Lysander. "Why would you think that?"

'I like you, okay? You are so innocent. If I didn't worry about being too forward and scaring you away, I wouldn't hold back at all,' she thought.

"You're doing really well in your studies now. Once your grades come out, will you still pay attention to me?" Lysander didn't look at her, just quietly expressing his feelings.

Lysander seemed unhappy, likely feeling insecure about his importance to her.

Elara looked at him, smiling, though her eyes began to water. It was evident that someone as wonderful as Lysander worried about her not liking him.

Meanwhile, Asher, who was clearly less impressive than Lysander, carried himself with such confidence as if she couldn't live without him.

Elara said, "Do you really think I'm that heartless? That I'd just use you and throw you away?"

"When you were with Asher..." Lysander finally glanced at her. "You cried in front of him."

This was something Lysander couldn't overlook, and it had been weighing on his mind. Although they spent time together every day, Elara was always gentle around him, almost as if she had no temper.

But in front of Asher, Elara would get angry and lose her cool. They were closer, and her demeanor with Lysander was entirely different from how she acted around Asher.

It seemed that at that moment, Lysander suddenly realized that no matter what, he could never be more important to her than Asher.

Elara heard Lysander's words. "Is this why you've been upset?"

"You never lose your temper in front of me," Lysander muttered

Elara responded, "Are you saying you want to see me angry? But what if I scare you away?"

Lysander appeared cold as if he could leave her at any moment, which made Elara hesitant to show any anger toward him.
