Chapter 893

The handsome man's eyes were cold and distant, lacking the warmth and affection he usually showed towards her. There was a hint of indifference mixed with anger in his gaze. Sylvia could sense that he was upset, almost as if he was silently pleading for her attention.

She felt like laughing at the sight but held back. Sitting next to Franklin, she gently took his hand in hers and said, "It's okay. Don't be angry."

Franklin gave her a sideways glance as if to say that one sentence wouldn't solve everything. Sylvia wasn't used to dealing with people like this and felt a bit awkward. "What's wrong?" she asked him.

"Heh," the man sneered coldly, tilting his head slightly while curling his lips into an arrogant smirk mixed with indifference.

This man was usually aloof and handsome; he looked like something straight out of a comic book or CEO drama series. But seeing him act so childish made Sylvia laugh uncontrollably. "When are we getting married?" Franklin ignored her teasing tone and got straight to the point with an alluring face expression on display for all to see.

He just wanted them both to get married already! Why did everything have to be so difficult?

His marriage plan was interrupted by all kinds of accidents, which was frustrating.

"I saw a new patient today who you know," Sylvia told Franklin about Giancarlo's marriage situation. Even though Franklin didn't feel good hearing about it, he knew how precious Giancarlo's life was.

He couldn't ignore what needed doing even if it made him unhappy.

Instead of sulking any longer, he decided not to let himself stay mad anymore.

He looked at Sylvia tenderly before saying softly, "You must be tired today."

Sylvia blinked in surprise at how quickly things changed between them. Just moments ago, he seemed angry but now everything seemed fine again?

Franklin reached over to pat her head gently before adding, "I left dinner in the kitchen for you; I'll go heat it up."

He stood up and walked towards the kitchen as he spoke. A few minutes later, the sound of the microwave filled the air. Franklin brought out several exquisite dishes and a bowl of porridge.

"Come eat," he said.

Sylvia turned to him, feeling warm inside, and washed her hands before sitting down to eat. When she finished eating and came out of the kitchen after washing up, she found that Franklin had been standing behind her all along with an intense gaze fixed on her.

Her heart skipped a beat at his sight. He was wearing a white silk robe with damp hair that glistened in droplets on his toned chest - an image that would make any woman lose control.

His physique was comparable to that of a supermodel or even better than one, Sylvia thought to herself in amazement.

She chuckled softly and blinked at him while blushing slightly. "Why are you looking at me like this?" She posed seductively...

Franklin smiled back at her with interest in his eyes before walking over to stand right beside Sylvia's ear. His lips emitted scorching hot breaths as they brushed against her earlobe when he whispered huskily into it. "Because my wife is the most beautiful."

Sylvia felt blood rush straight up into her head from hearing such nakedly affectionate words from him so suddenly; she couldn't believe what just happened! She put both hands on her cheeks for support while trying not to show how flustered she was by this sudden display of lovey-dovey behavior from Franklin. "I'm going to take a shower," she said quickly before rushing off into their bedroom without bothering about what kind of pajamas she grabbed along the way... Franklin watched Sylvia disappear into their bedroom with amusement written all over his face; how could she be so cute? Even after being together for so long?

He loved how lively Sylvia could be outside but then turn into such an adorable little wife when they were alone together - just for him!

Lying lazily on their bed now, Franklin picked up his phone from its place on top of their nightstand table and logged onto Facebook where Brayden had left him a message about planning his wedding. "I got lucky enough to meet Z who's going to help me plan my wedding, thanks to the Foster Family!"

Franklin looked at Brayden's excited expression in disbelief but replied casually. "Congratulations."

At this moment, Sylvia walked into the bathroom and quickly took a shower. Afterward, she sat by the bathtub with a face mask on. She waited for half an hour before removing the mask and preparing to wash her face and leave.

As she dried off her body and reached for her pajamas, she was shocked when she saw what they were. The transparent lace, thin white fabric, and almost hollow design made it clear that this was a very sexy piece of lingerie.

When did he buy this kind of sleepwear? She had grabbed it in haste without noticing what it looked like! How could she wear something so seductive? It would make her more attractive than not wearing anything at all to that hungry man.

Just as she hesitated about what to do next, there was knocking at the door. "Honey, are you still not done washing up?" Franklin asked from outside.

Sylvia hesitated for a moment before quickly putting on the lingerie and opening the bathroom door. Glancing at the clock on the wall showed it was almost eleven o'clock. She looked around but avoided making eye contact with Franklin.

Franklin's eyes were fixed on her as he watched intently while Sylvia stood there in front of him wearing nothing but white lace lingerie that accentuated every curve of her body perfectly.

The thin fabric barely concealed anything; combined with soft yellow lighting shining down upon them both made everything look hazy yet enticingly beautiful.

Especially after just having taken a shower, her fair skin glistened like an eggshell freshly peeled, one mischievous water droplet slid down from Sylvia's slender neck until finally settling between two curves on top of her chest...

"Why did you take so long?" Franklin's gaze seemed to be burning hot as his Adam's apple bobbed up and down repeatedly while trying hard to suppress something within himself.

"I... I just wanted to take my time soaking in my bath," Sylvia replied nervously as she walked over towards their bed covers' side before lying down atop them immediately afterward.

She happened upon Franklin's phone which he had thrown carelessly aside earlier; its screen still lit up showing his chat history with Brayden.

Brayden: "I want our wedding ceremony to be romantic yet beautiful, preferably by seaside since Jenna loves oceans."

Franklin: "The beach is indeed nice; great scenery."

Brayden: "The Foster Family wants to have their wedding in a medieval castle... and Darius wants to have his on the same day as mine."

Brayden: "But Jenna's style doesn't quite match with the Foster family's. What should I do?"

Brayden: "Hey, are you there?"

Franklin ignored his poor friend who kept sending messages on his phone and instead looked at Sylvia calmly. "Honey, you're compensating me today. So... you dressed so seductively for me?" He approached Sylvia step by step, her faint shower gel scent mixed with her unique feminine fragrance tightly wrapped around him.

He took a deep breath. "Honey, why aren't you saying anything?"

Sylvia was in agony. If she told the truth that she had taken the wrong medicine, she would be in trouble later.

So she could only lean against the headboard and smile awkwardly and stiffly. "Yes, honey. Couples need some excitement."

Franklin embraced Sylvia's waist and smelled her unique scent from her body. "Honey, you are so charming that it touches my heart."

He looked at Sylvia's small face with a deeper smile on his lips while his thin lips quietly touched her cheek wetly and hotly like a snake sliding skillfully...

Sylvia trembled slightly as he approached but wanted to escape; however Franklin easily caught hold of her wrist and raised it above her head.

The man leaned down to look at her from above.

His face was full of an evil grin while countless flames seemed ignited by his big palm.

Sylvia stared at him with wide eyes but before she could react, the man kissed fiercely without warning.

After what felt like forever, the room returned to calmness under complete darkness. Sylvia let out a soft moan...

She was too tired now. His strong heartbeat sounded beside ear accompanied by even breathing. She slowly closed both eyes into sleep mode while Bryaden Wright held onto the phone looking gloomy, "Where did you go? Why don't you reply to my message?"

It was early morning, sunshine brightened up everything. It was such rare good weather.

The air carried fresh aroma. Yet Jasmine just bought breakfast back into hospital ward when suddenly heard hurried footsteps behind.

She turned around surprised only seeing a familiar handsome figure approaching towards herself quickly

His eyes flickered with excitement and a restrained longing as he said, "Auntie, why didn't you tell us that Uncle was seriously ill?"

Jasmine looked at Clare who had walked up to her with a dazed expression. Her mind went blank and she almost crashed.

She couldn't believe it. "Clare, what are you doing here?" How did he replace her?

"Auntie, you guys are too much. Why haven't you contacted the family for so many years?" Clare didn't answer Jasmine's question but continued to ask.

Giancarlo was also awakened by the noise. He slowly sat up and saw his wife and her nephew standing stiffly at the door of the ward.

He coughed softly and said, "Are you two planning to chat outside the door forever?"
