Chapter 111 Chapter

It was an attempt at comfort, though he seemed unsure of how to provide it.

My heart was heavy as I turned toward the doctor standing near the ward door.

"Can I see him?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.

The doctor hesitated. "The Alpha is awake," he admitted, "but he's not in a stable state of mind. He's refusing, visitors right n

I wasn't surprised. Leo had always been proud, too proud to show his pain to anyone, even to me,

that didn't mean I was going to leave him alone.

"I'm his Luna," I said firmly. "I need to be by his side."

The doctor gave me a sympathetic look but remained hesitant.

"I'll ask him," he finally said, disappearing into the room to speak with Leo.

A few minutes passed, each one feeling longer than the last.

When the doctor re-emerged, his expression was apologetic.

"He doesn't want you to see him in this state. He refused."

His refusal hurt, but it wasn't unexpected.

Leo's pride was boundless.

But we had been married for three years.

I knew every inch of him, every secret, every scar.

He couldn't hide from me, not anymore.

"Tell him," I said slowly, "if he doesn't see me now, I won't visit him again in the future."

The doctor hesitated again, but finally nodded and returned to the room.

This time, he came back quickly. "He'll see you."

I took a deep breath, steadying myself as I walked into the room.

The ward was dimly lit, the faint glow of the overhead lights casting long shadows across the sterile white walls.

The steady beeping of medical monitors and the occasional shuffle of a nurse's feet outside the door were the only sounds breaking the stillness.

The room was a stark contrast to the vibrant world outside, where life continued at its relentless pace.

But in here, time seemed to slow, every second dragging with a weight of uncertainty.

Leo lay on the bed, his face etched with fatigue, his once strong and commanding presence diminished by the injuries he had sustained.

His leg, wrapped in thick bandages, was propped up slightly, a reminder of the battle he had fought and the price he had paid.

His eyes, usually so full of fire, were now dull and clouded with doubt.

We pát in silence, the tension between us palpable.

After what felt like an eternity, Leo finally spoke, his voice hoarse and laced with pain.

"I didn't think you'd come to see ine."

cut through me, and I clenched my fists, struggling to keep my emotions in check

Tim your Luna, Leo." I said softly but firmly.

That hasn't changed since I married you three years ago. I'm not going to leave you now just because you're hurt. This isn't the first time you've been in this position.

Leo's jaw tightened, and he looked away, his gaze fixed on the wall as if searching for answers in the cracks.

When he spoke again, his voice was barely above a whisper, yet the words struck me like a hammer.

"No. I'm setting you free."

I stared at him, my heart pounding in my chest. "What are you talking about?"

be finally turned to face me, his eyes filled with a sorrow I had never seen before.

"When I get out of this bed, we'll go to the werewolf council and break off our relationship. You deserve better than this."

"Why?" I asked, my voice trembling. "That's not what you said that day."

"But now everything different," Leo's face was lined with pain, not just physical but emotional.

"I can't let you stay tied to a broken man. An Alpha with a disability is a disgrace to the pack. If I can't recover, Silvermoon will be handed over to a new heir, and you'll be free to replace someone better."

This man, when he was at his most spirited, would jump into a freezing river to pursue me.

And now that he's injured and lying in a hospital bed, he's pushing me away instead when he needs someone to take care of him the most.

"You bastard," I gazed into his eyes and said. "Do you really think I married you for the title of Luna?"

Leo looked at me with a mix of guilt and regret.

"No," he admitted, his voice barely audible. "But I wanted to give you the best of everything. Not just the title, but a life worthy of you. Now, I'm stuck in this bed, unable to even give you a simple hug. And there's someone better waiting for you..." I froze, my heart sinking. "What do you mean by that?"
