Chapter 112

Chapter 112

Leo's eyes were heavy with resignation.

"I've investigated that vampire, Rolin. He has enormous wealth and influence among the vampires, and he's clearly fond of you. Even without him, Narik has feelings for you, and once I'm no longer Alpha, he's the most likely candidate to take over." The mention of Rolin and Narik stirred something deep within me, a mix of frustration and sorrow.

But before Leo could say another word, I leaned down and pressed my lips to his, cutting off his speech.

His breath hitched in surprise, but then he responded, his hands trembling as they moved to my back, pulling me closer.

kiss was desperate, filled with all the emotions we had been holding back-fear, love, pain, and hope.

When we finally broke apart, both of us were breathless.

Leo's eyes searched mine, confusion and longing evident in his gaze.

"Do you understand now?" I whispered, my voice shaking.

"I'm not leaving you, Leo. I haven't forgiven you for what you once did to me, and I'm not sure I've fallen back in love with you. But I, as Luna, will stay by your side until you get through this, and nothing will change that."

I could see the conflict in his eyes, the battle between his pride and his love for me. "But I don't want you to stay with me out of pity."

"So I'm leaving now?" I said deliberately.

I could feel Leo's hand tighten on my arm as I said the words.

"I don't want you to leave." There was pain and reluctance in Leo's eyes.

"But my leg... it's incurable. My pride can't accept that I'll be a burden to you for the rest of your life. You deserve the chance to replace a new partner, to live a life without the weight of my problems."

I shook my head, refusing to accept his words.

"Who said your leg is incurable?"

Leo's face fell, his voice dropping to a low murmur.

"I overheard the doctors talking when I woke up from the coma. They said there's no chance I'll walk again unless a miracle happens."

He paused, his eyes filled with despair.

"But how could a miracle happen twice for the same person?"

A sad smile tugged at my lips as I looked at him.

My heart is broken for the man I once loved.

"Leo, it wasn't a miracle."

His brow furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean?"

Taking a deep breath, I reached out and placed my hand gently on his injured leg.

Leo finched slightly, his eyes narrowing in suspicion, but he didn't pull away.

"Trust me," I whispered, closing my eyes as I focused on the connection between Lena and me.

A warm, white glow began to emanate from my hand, and as it did, I felt the power flow through me and into him.

Leo's eyes widened in shock, his breath catching in his throat. "Elizabeth.... what are you doing?"

The sterile, whitewashed walls of the hospital ward did little to comfort anyone who stepped inside.

The air was thick with the scent of antiseptic, mingling with a faint aroma of lavender from a small, wilting bouquet that someone had left by the window.

Leo lay in the bed, his normally powerful frame weakened by injury, but his presence still filled the room.

His face was a mixture of confusion and disbelief as I sat beside him, my heart pounding with the weight of the truth I was about to reveal.

"This is the ability of Lena and me," I began, my voice steady despite the nervous energy thrumming through my veins..

"We have the direct bloodline of the Moon Goddess, and we can heal your injuries."

For a moment, Leo's face was blank, as if he hadn't fully processed what I had just said.

Then, slowly, his eyes widened, and he stared at me, unmoving, like a stone statue frozen in time.

"So...I was able to make a full recovery from a leg injury that was judged unrecoverable by the hospital because..."

I nodded, watching the realization dawn on him.

"You recovered because you were cured by me."

His expression crumbled into one of shock and remorse.

He looked as though the very ground beneath him had shifted, leaving him adrift in a sea of guilt.

"Oh my God," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion.

"What have I done?"

I could see the thoughts swirling in his mind-the memories of decisions made, the paths taken.

The only reason he had been able to take over as Alpha was because of my healing.

However, there was a time when he grew lost in marriage and power, forgetting the vows he had made.

But the man before me now was not the same one who had made those choices.

Leo had changed, grown, and I could see it in the way he carried himself, the way he spoke, and the way he now considered others before himself

If Leo had been the same cold, selfish man he once was, he would have used his injuries to bind me to him, to exploit my sympathy, ensuring I stayed by his side out of obligation.

But he hadn't. Instead, he had tried to push me away, to give me the freedom to live my life without the burden of his struggles.
