After I Amazed the World the Cold Alpha Regretted -
AFTER I AMAZED 207
Chapter 207
Another one? I was too delirious to process the meaning behind his words.
Was I still dreaming? But no, I wasn't. In that instant, I realized I was pregnant with twins.
I hadn't even known.
The thought barely registered before the next wave of pain hit, forcing my body to engage in another round of this torturous process.
I wanted to cry, scream, anything.
body had been wrung dry, every ounce of energy spent, but there was no time to rest.
My vision dimmed, and I drifted in and out of consciousness as the voices around me grew more frantic.
The labor stretched on, and It felt like an eternity before, finally, the second cry pierced the air-a soft, fragile sound that was the most beautiful music I had ever heard.
"It's a boy," the nurse said softly this time, as though speaking too loudly would shatter me completely.
I could only blink up at her in disbelief.
The doctor, seeing the fear and confusion still painted across my pale face, leaned closer.
"The babies are fine," he said with a soft reassurance. "They're just a little thin, but they'll be in the incubator for a week, and after that, they'll be discharged. You've done wonderfully." I wanted to hold them, to see them, but I couldn't even lift my arms.
My body was a shell, hollow and worn out.
The hemorrhage had drained nearly everything from me, leaving me too weak to do anything but breathe, if even that.
The tears came then, streaming silently from the corners of my eyes as I stared at the bright, blinding light above my head.
It felt so distant, just like everything else.
I linked, and in that moment, I was transported back to a time when my world had been so different-back to when Leo and I were happy.
I remembered the gentle way he had looked at me that day, years ago, when he had picked up my corsage at a summer festival.
He had looked so young, so earnest.
I hadn't even known him well then, and yet, something about his gaze had made me feel safe, cherished.
I remembered the playful smile on his lips as he held the corsage, twirling it between his fingers.
"Whose is this?" he had asked, pretending not to know.
I didn't step forward to claim it right away, but my heart had pounded in my chest as I watched him search the crowd for me.
And then, after what felt like forever, he came to me, holding that delicate flower as if it were the most precious thing in the world.
In front of everyone, he dropped to one knee, the corsage suddenly replaced with a diamond ring.
I had never felt more loved than I had in that moment.
But now, here I was, lying alone in a hospital bed, my body broken, my heart shattered.
I wasn't that girl anymore, and Leo wasn't that man.
Somewhere along the way, we had lost each other.

Chapter 207
The tears flowed freely as I whispered to the memory of that man, the one I had once loved so deeply, "Leo, I'm leaving
And this time, I'll never come back."
And with that thought, I finally let go, allowing myself to drift into the comforting darkness that waited for me just beyond the edges of my consciousness Third POV:
Meanwhile, in the heart of a battlefield, werewolves clashed with rogue forces in a brutal war.
The ground trembled under the weight of hundreds of paws, and the air was thick with growls, snarls, and the deafening sounds of battle.
Wood sprayed, claws slashed, and the once pristine fields were now stained with carnage.
Pather darted through the chaos, his heart racing. He had to reach Leo.
The moment he caught sight of him, his breath caught in his throat.
Leo stood tall, his silver fur matted with blood, eyes glowing with the fury of a leader who had seen too much death.
"Alpha!" Panther's voice cracked as he skidded to a stop in front of him.
His chest heaved, his mind racing, unsure how to break the news. "Leo, I-"
Leo's icy gaze bore into him, impatient for answers.
Panther swallowed hard, his lips trembling. "Luna... the baby was born prematurely!"
Leo stood frozen, his mind reeling.
Panther's words had hit him like a tidal wave, leaving him breathless.
""Premature labor?*
How could this have happened? Elizabeth's health had been fine the last time he'd spoken to her, just yesterday. And now, this.
Panther, seeing his Alpha's shock, lowered his voice even more as he explained, "That phone call last night... it wasn't cut off because of a bad signal. It was because the car Luna was traveling in was attacked by rogues." He paused, seeing the horror flood into Leo's eyes.
