After I Amazed the World the Cold Alpha Regretted -
AFTER I AMAZED 208
Chapter 208
"But a group of mysterious people intervened. They saved her, prevented it from becoming a disaster. But..." His words faltered for a moment, and he continued with a heavy sigh, Luna was severely traumatized. The shock led to premature labor and she hemorrhaged." The weight of Panther's words crashed down on Leo's chest like a hammer.
He couldn't breathe, couldn't think.
The world seemed to spin around him, the sounds of the battlefield fading into nothingness.
His mind went blank, except for one image: Elizabeth, his strong, fierce Elizabeth, lying helpless and in pain.
The thought tore at his soul, and he didn't dare imagine the agony she had gone through.
Worse still, he couldn't bear the idea of a future without her.
His voice, when he finally spoke, was hollow, almost a whisper. "What about the child?"
Panther hesitated, then replied with a calmer tone, "The child is fine. They'll be discharged in a few more days."
Leo's hands trembled as he processed this.
Relief mingled with the intense fear gripping his heart. At least the child was safe.
But Elizabeth? His Elizabeth was still at risk.
His palms clenched into fists, and Panther, noticing Leo's darkened expression and the glisten of unshed tears in his eyes, asked, "Alpha, where do you want to go first?" Without hesitation, Leo snapped, his voice hoarse but decisive, "The hospital. Now!"
In that moment, a deep sense of regret began to gnaw at him.
Leo rarely regretted his decisions-he was a man who prided himself on being steadfast, both in personal matters and in his leadership of the pack
But now... now, regret was all he could feel.
That phone call-why had he let it go?
Even if Elizabeth had hung up first, why hadn't he insisted on talking longer, ensuring her safety?
He clenched his jaw, hating himself for not realizing something was wrong sooner.
The weight of his mistake crushed him with every passing second, and he could feel the sharp pangs of heartache in his chest.
As soon as Leo arrived at the hospital, his heart raced.
But to his dismay, Elizabeth wasn't there to greet him.
Instead, in the quiet, dimly lit high-class ward, Daria-one of the pack's caregivers-sat beside a cradle, her voice soft and sweet as she gently teased one of the babies. "Smile! That's it, you're such a cute little thing, aren't you?" she cooed, her hand lightly tickling the tiny foot of the infant.
Leo halted just inside the door, frozen in place as his eyes fell upon the two cradles.
Inside them were two tiny babies, bundled in soft blankets, their eyes closed in peaceful slumber.
He couldn't move, couldn't breathe. His children.
His voice, when It finally came, was rough, barely more than a croak.
"Which one is... mine?"

Daria locked up at him with a kind, knowing smile.
"Both of them, Alpha." She paused, letting the information sink in before continuing, "Elizabeth gave birth to a pair of dragon and phoenix twin boy and a girl" Leo's long, slender fingers trembled as he approached the cradle.
He knelt down beside it, staring at the tiny faces, so delicate and innocent.
His heart swelled with a mixture of awe and pain.
Gently, almost hesitantly, he reached out and touched the baby's cheek, his fingers shaking as they made contact with the soft, warm skin.
The child stirred but didn't wake, his tiny lips twitching in what looked like the faintest hint of a smile.
They're beautiful," Leo whispered, his voice breaking. His heart felt as though it might burst from the overwhelming emotions surging through him.
The little girl In the next cradle had Elizabeth's features-the same delicate nose, the same soft curve of her lips.
Leo's eyes filled with tears as he stared down at his children, his fingers brushing against their tiny hands.
They were so small, so fragile, yet they represented everything-his future, his love for Elizabeth, and his deepest fears.
"What about Elizabeth?" he finally asked, his throat tight with emotion.
Daria's face softened, but her smile faltered for a brief moment.
"She's in a separate ward," she said quietly. "She's very weak, and she's not entirely out of danger yet."
Leo's heart clenched painfully at the thought of Elizabeth suffering alone.
Just as he was about to ask to see her, the door to the ward swung open with a creak.
A maid stood at the entrance, her eyes swollen with tears.
The moment she saw Leo, she fell to her knees, her shoulders shaking as sobs wracked her body.
"Alpha!" she cried, her voice choked with guilt. "It's my fault, it's all my fault!"
