Chapter 38

I could feel Aria's envy burning a hole through me, but Rolin shielded me from her gaze

with his body.

"Shall we get out of here?" he asked softly, his tone inviting.

nodded, unable to resist a final, mocking glance at Aria as I left with Rolin.

He guided me out of the cafe, the scent of roses and the sound of muffled arguments lingering behind us.

As we reached the door, Leo's fury erupted.

"You think you can just flaunt your new man in front of me? How dare you!"

Emma opened the door for us.

"No matter what the Alpha decides, you will always be our Luna in my heart."

Her words were a soothing balm to my wounded spirit, and I thanked her with a heartfelt nod before stepping out with Rolin. Back at the piano shop, Rolin was contemplative.

"I've heard some things about them, but I didn't realize they'd gone so far as to openly provoke you in public." he said casually.

I was slightly embarrassed by the public knowledge of my entangled past.

"Seems like everyone knows our drama."

Rolin frowned.

"It's surprising that someone as remarkable as you was overlooked for someone so... hollow."

His words were oddly comforting, providing a balm to my bruised self-esteem.

Chapter 38

"Please don't smoke in the car. I've tolerated it before because of your condition, but I don't like it."

He paused, surprised, then extinguished the cigarette with a sigh.

"It's been rough lately, there's been a lot of rouges with a grudge against Silvermoonpack,

and basically they've all been dealt with. But there are still some on the loose, so be careful, I'll be picking you up and dropping you off in the next few days." No need." I refused.

A breeze blew, I reached up and brushed my long windblown hair.

When I lowered my hand, I noticed Leo's hard look.

"Where's the wedding ring on your hand?" he asked grimly.

"I sold it," I replied, my tone calm.

Leo's eyes widened in anger.

"How short of money are you, to the point of selling your wedding ring?"

"You were the one who betrayed this marriage first," I shot back. "What do I keep my wedding ring for when the love is gone?"

Leo seemed to have never considered that I, as a Luna, would really be ruthless about selling my wedding ring..

He froze, then said seriously,

"Get in the car, tell me which shop you sold the ring at and we will go and buy it back now"

felt mocked in my heart and turned him down, stating,

"Even if we buy the ring back what's the point, we can't get our marriage back."

Leo grimaced and just when I suspected that he would jump out of the car and force me to get in his car to buy the ring back. Chapter 38

At that moment, his phone rang.

Aria pouted at him in a sweet voice that sounded pathetic with a sobbing tone.

"Where have you been, my dear? You didn't come to stay with me all day today, if you didn't come, the wounds on my body hurt again, and I can't even eat, so will you come stay with me now."

Aria often used this excuse to get him to stay with her, so I took it for granted.

Sure enough, Leo hesitated.

"I have something urgent to attend to," he told me. "I'll take you to buy the ring another day. And stay away from Rolin. I've investigated him-he's a vampire. You'll regret it if you stay with him." I felt a cold smile on my lips.

"The thing I regret the most is becoming mates with you."

With that, I left, my heart heavy and cold.

Soon, I was immersed in teaching my first piano student, a precocious six-year-old girl whose enthusiasm and talent made the lesson a joy.

The satisfaction I felt as her parents and she left the shop, smiling and satisfied, was

unparalleled.

After the lesson, while I was tidying up, a clerk approached me with a concerned look.

"There's a man downstairs claiming to be your husband. He's been waiting for a while."

I knew immediately it had to be Leo.

I instructed the clerk to tell him I was busy and to leave.

Once the room was cleared of any remaining questions or concerns from the student's parents, I made my way downstairs.

There, Leo was waiting in the lobby, his face clouded with anger.

He hadn't left; instead, he was conversing with Rolin, who wore a self-satisfied smirk.

Rolin, noticing my arrival, leaned closer and whispered, "If you need help getting rid of your ex, just let me know."

Leo's eyes flashed with fury.

"This is a matter between me and my Luna. You have no right to intervene, or I might challenge you myself."

I shook my head. "Rolin, I need to handle this myself."

Rolin's expression softened into a smile.

more.

"It's my duty as your lover to support you," he said, causing Leo's anger to flare even m

Leo led me to his car, lighting a cigarette as we walked.

The smell of smoke was almost unbearable.

I frowned.
