Chapter 94

"Physically, she seems to be stable. The injuries were severe, but it looks like she received some sort of treatment before the arrived here. It's umbual, but I believe she's out of immediate danger. However, the psychological trauma is another matter entirely. That will take

much longer to heal

Leo, who had been silent beside me, glanced at me, his eyes searching mine as if trying to understand something,

I couldn't meet his gaze, the guilt weighing too heavily on my shoulders,

This was my fault. If I hadn't been involved, Emma wouldn't have suffered like this.

Asingle tear slipped down my cheek, followed by another, and then another,

Tuldn't hold them back any longer.

The worry, the guilt-it all came crashing down on me at once.

Leo sighed, and before I knew it, he had pulled me into a hug.

It wasn't his usual embrace, full of passion and heat.

This one was different, gentle and comforting, a silent offering of support when words failed him.

He wasn't good with emotional confrontations, but in that moment, his arms around me were exactly what I needed.

I buried my face in his chest, letting the tears fall freely.

For a few moments, I allowed myself to be vulnerable, to release the pain that had been building up inside me.

When the tears finally subsided, I pulled back, wiping my face and taking a deep breath.

I had to be strong now, for Emma's sake.

"Can I see her?" I asked the doctor, my voice steadier than I felt.

The doctor nodded. "You can, but be gentle. She's been through a lot."

I nodded, my heart heavy with a mixture of determination and dread.

I had to be there for her, to help her through this, no matter how hard it would be.

Taking another deep breath, I pushed open the door to Emma's room, steeling myself for what lay ahead.

I entered the ward, where Emma was already awake, her frail figure lying still against the sterile white sheets.

The fluorescent lights above cast a harsh glow on her pale face, highlighting the bruises that had been carefully treated.

Bandages wrapped around her arms where syringes were inserted, and the beeping of the monitors filled the silent room.

Seeing her like this made my heart ache with guilt.

"Emma," I called softly, stepping closer to her bedside. Her eyes fluttered open, revealing a tired, but gentle gaze. "How are you feeling?"

Emma tried to sit up but winced from the pain, so she settled back down, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I've been better, Elizabeth."

I took a deep breath, guilt weighing heavily on my chest.

"I'm so sorry, Emma. If it weren't for me, Sorcia wouldn't have targeted you like this. You wouldn't have had to suffer these injuries because of her retaliation."

Emma shook her head weakly, her expression solemn.

"It's not your fault. Even if you and Aria didn't have a beef, Sorcia and her followers would still replace a reason to bully me, and she and I have never been on good terms." Her voice trembled slightly as she continued, "It's just that I didn't expect. them to go straight for me." Her words hit me hard. I had no idea that Emma had been enduring this for so long, hiding her pain behind a quiet smile.

"Emma, I promise you, I'll make this right. Sorcia and her group won't get away with this. Ill make sure of it." I reached out and gently squeezed her hand. "But for now, just rest. Focus on getting better."

Emma didn't say anything else, her eyes slipping closed as exhaustion overtook her.

I watched her for a moment, feeling the weight of responsibility settle heavily on my shoulders.

I can't allow Sosia to continue terrorizing Emma.

Then I received the information and arrived at the mall where Sosia was shopping, I could feel the eyes of the pedestrians on the road on me, all of them whispering about me.

"Is that Elizabeth? I saw her ad today. She looks even better in person."

"I heard she'd been dumped by the Alpha. Nothing special, just a pretty face."

I ignored the murmurs, focusing on the task at hand.

My eyes found Sorcia. She was sitting in a luxury store, casually examining her reflection in a small hand mirror.

The sight of her calm, self-satisfied demeanor fueled my determination.

Without hesitation, I strode over to her and snatched the mirror from her hand, tossing it aside.

Sorcia looked up at me, annoyance flashing in her eyes.

"What do you think you're doing?"

I leaned on the edge of her desk, staring down at her with a cold, unyielding gaze.

"I heard
